So whilst waiting for my bits to arrive from the Far East, I decided to try an Angry Gun MPA nozzle. It’s the one where you can vary the FPS. I put it into the bolt carrier with the valve opened fully (vary it use an Allen key which is supplied), pumped up mag with Abbey Ultra and stuck in some Geoff’s 0.30’s and it chrono 330-350fps!! This was on a full gassed up mag. Needless to say I was kinda surprised and the mag used its gas pretty fast. So, I adjusted the valve with a lot of trial and error and got it down to 280fps. Negatives: 1. There is a twang each time time the bolt cycles forward. It’s coming from the spring. I hazard to guess that there is no tubing in the spring which is this causes the spring to resonate 2. Bbs- It seems to be pushing a bb into the chamber perhaps a tad too far and it rolls out of the barrel. I was testing on zero hop using a marui bucking and the SixG nub. I’ll set the hop for 0.3s and try again. 3. The FPS consistency isn’t as good as I was expecting. There is way too much variation. I think this may need to go back!

Thank you. That was exactly the info I was looking for.

G&P npas, they make various versions like 3.5,4.0,4.5 etc.. Do these figures represent the maximum fps on 0.2's and is anyone using the npas valve kit? To get close to 350fps what 'type' of gas would be needed and of course I assume a npas flow valve will be needed in addition to some other more resilient upgrades over the stock parts?
-
They sell a gold edition of the MTR apparently if that is your thing. https://www.defconairsoft.co.uk/product/tokyo-marui-mtr16-g-edition-gbb-with-zet-system/

May I ask, are your MWS’s stock internals? And is there a power increase with Nuprol 3.0?
-
It should run fine on Abbey Ultra Predator gas (the red bottle)... the green bottle may just have a tad less power... Just keep the mags warmish Report back after the weekend with your findings
-
Now I'm thinking blingy gold but that would be too 'gangsta' right? Silver would be a nice colour option for the bolt... better than having a black bolt with it's paint getting all scratched off like what happens with the Marui one.....

@Speedbird_666look look

OK, best BB's to use in these beasts? I understand a GBBR is quite brutal in loading bb's one needs to use the hardest almost most perfect bb's out here. I foolishly used Nuprol RZR 0.28's which I believe shattered and caused my nozzle and rubber to go tit's up.... So without further adieu what is it you chaps recommend? Geoff's super precision I assume are the best to use? Incidentally, I spoke to firesupport and they said use a hard bb and said G&G 0.28's and higher are very good for GBBRs?

Chaps, is the bolt carrier group the same dimensions for all the MWS models. I’ve got the CQBR version so wanted to confirm that if something says compatable with MWS M4A1 it means by default CQBR too.

Standard service is normal airmail or in this case HK post so can take from 10 days plus. EMS and DHL will be here within 5 days. However due to Covid EMS times were well buggered so many people used the DHL route. You’ll be paying $30usd more the faster shipping. That’s lost beer money 😂 I’ve got a stock nozzle nozzle (to replace the one I buggered up) coming In from Taiwan as a matter of fact probably about 10 days or so. I used bang bang airsoft lol. However I’m seriously considering the whole G&P bolt carrier group too. In the U.K. the max limit is 350fps so the 3.5 npas I believe is what’s needed.

Don’t forget the customs charge and of course that parcelforce handling fee of £12 on top. I may wait till Black Friday now. May get some more discounts especially if it’s $169 for a complete bolt. Thanks for the heads up the different sizes that’s good to know.

I’ve been reading up this morning as a matter of fact. Cheapest way is to get the G&P drop in nozzle set which should fit into the stock Marui bolt. But then I’m thinking I may as well get the complete G&P bolt carrier group. It’s all built for you so just simply drop it in. Decisions, decisions.... Also perhaps a G&P 3.5 nozzle valve kit too perhaps ?
-
Would you have any links to these? I assume I can just drop one of these units into the Marui bolt carrier itself or are these complete BCGs?
-
Good grief.... it's got every upgrade under the bonnet there! But realistically a lot of that is not needed... Just a SIxG nub, a Modify Tan bucking.... and the barrel which may add about 5fps... A lot of 3rd party components may not have the same tolerances as the original stock Marui and hence lead to inconsistencies in behaviour... At least he's been honest about the crack so fair dues.... I wonder how that was caused? Possibly by the way the rail was installed or perhaps by the rail itself when opening the receiver so banging the rail onto the receiver... Either way it's sucks! A lower receiver is approx £150 and sourcing one is like rocking horse poop!

What did you replace it with May I ask?
-
Is this the famous bucking everyone is larking on about. The package doesn’t say MWS so wanted to be sure. Part number is GB-05-62
-
Anyone used the Angry Gun nozzle in their MWS? If so any reviews on it? In fact has anyone used any other nozzle than the stock Marui?
-
Here’s a thought. Take it all apart again and video it
-
I know TRH very well and his review was one of the first that’s for sure. I’d go HAO each and every time over any other kit eventhough AG was first to market.
-
@Marroksteel I’m not a big fan of the 50 shades of tan but that HAO kit sure looks very Gucci. I believe you’ll be one of the early adopters of this kit too as it’s not been out long. It will be interesting to hear your thoughts on the build and whether it was pain free etc. And more importantly how does it look, handle and feel. Also, why are the mags a tad different? They have that extended plastic parts showing? Did they come with the HAO kit?

OMG there was grit and sand in the trigger assembly? What was the previous owner doing? Making sand castles with it? The Mk18 will be circa around the £549 according to defconairsoft... I'm sure you can get a barrel extender kit but then why do it? You might as well get the MTR? Ok, it's not a real life gun but ditch the stock snd replace it with a CTR to make it look better... Regarding the mags, there is a massive global shortage... even some of the usual Japanese suspects are showing out of stock.... that's on their 'English' websites though.... Firesupport had about 35 in and they all went within less than a week. They were capped to a max of 4 per customer though... Probably worth giving them a call and asking if they will get any more in. Same with the AK...
-
Whichever one you go for, just don't use Nuprol RZR bbs like I did and bugger up the gun... Thankfully it's an easy fix costing £30 for the nozzle and £10 for a new hop rubber... but still that's beer money used up! One point to consider, how easy is it to get hold of the AK MWS mags? I'm sure when the AK is released they may be available from the usual sources but you never know.... Also let's face it, that MK18 looks the dogs danglies.... Nothing to worry about it.... just press the bolt stop and release the mag.... I'm sure mine did the same too when it was working.... the MWS is not like a namby pamby AEG. This is a real mans gun who has hairy fingers and bigger muscles in their fingers... 😆
