I am interested in why this is believed to be the case. I have had 250, 370 and 455 mm barrels (all Maple leaf Crazy Jets if it makes a difference) in my MWS at various points and still have each of these barrels in a GBBR (the 370 is in a WE 416) and at the same FPS (350) I couldn’t tell any meaningful difference in accuracy at 10, 25 or 50m (for me this was the most compelling argument for my MK18 build as there was no performance detriment to the shorter barrel). As far as I am aware assuming the barrels are true with minimal imperfections barrel length shouldn’t make any difference provided it is long enough for the BB to stabilise in the air flow. The only difference I am aware of is longer barrels will produce increased FPS provided there is sufficient gas volume released.

I have a Mk12 upper (With it’s own BGC) for my MWS set up as a DMR. Currently firing bang on 315 FPS on a .4g bb (318 FPS on a .4g bb is equivalent to 450 on a .2g bb). I didn’t upgrade much as far as the internals go to get the power and accuracy my list was: - SixG Brass nub (so I can hop heavy BBs) - npas valve (so I can tune the FPS, it goes higher as well as lower than stock). - Maple Leaf Crazy Jet 455mm VSR Cut Barrel. That’s it in terms of internals. In terms of externals you will need either a silencer or an 18inch outer barrel to cover that inner barrel (I was always going to do a MK12 upper so just chose the longest inner barrel that would fit in the 18” outer). other than that everything else (sights, bipeds etc.) is optional. There are other ways to go (e.g tighter bore barrel will get more FPS, so won’t need to be as long), but this was very cost effective and has been super reliable as I’m not messing with spring tensions or other stuff that could impact reliability. As an aside I have found the stock TM hop rubber to be the best balance of performance and durability. There are hops that perform better (some of the maple leaf buckings and the modify tan spring to mind), but I have found they don’t last that long at DMR FPS. Edit: just to add there are still a few turns left on the npas so I could go higher FPS. Second Edit: I also permanently modified the safety/selector switch to semi only (needed to comply with U.K. law). There is a YouTube video on how to do this.

The 'What have you just bought' Thread
Cyberlawyer replied to Cameron364's topic in Guns, Gear & Loadouts
I bought this as a two-tone that hadn’t been fired in 2 years so got it for a good price. After a bit of blue paint removal and a strip down and refurb I ended up with this WE416 GBBR. -
Buy a bottle of Nuprol 2.0. If it fills properly with that (Mine always have) then you know It’s a problem with the adapter or the propane bottle.
-
Nope struggling to get a full mag out of any of the five, I don't know if it's my filling adapter or the fill valves. All mags hold gas and are on calor's finest. Really stupid question. But you are holding the mags upside down with the gas bottle upside down (pointing downwards) over the top? If you have the gas bottle the right way up and pressing the mag down on it you are filling the mag with the vapour (propane gas) taking up the empty (of compressed liquid propane) space at the top of the canister.

I have always fancied one of these for a bit of fun. Let men know when you are bored of it I might take it off your hands if I haven’t scratched my SMG itch by then. (I’ll expect a message sometime next week 😂)..... -
I can’t say if real steel trigger guards fit, but real steal grips will (although you need to use the original MWS bolt to attach them). I had a problem with the attachment point from the trigger guard digging into my middle finger. I don’t think a different trigger guard would have fixed this as the issue was actually the bracket where the trigger guard attaches with the roll pin. I fixed it by using some ‘Sugru’ to fill the void and hide the sharp bit. It’s a neat job and looks factory. ill try and take a picture later today.

I managed to get my MWS up to 450 FPS with nothing more than a long barrel and an npas valve (with a small modification) and a squirt of red gas. Although due to joule creep you can hit the allowed FPS on normal green gas by upping the weight of the BBs. Its also easy to adjust back down with the npas.

I have HSGI Taco’s and the WAS quick release pouches. Both work fine, the HSGI are marginally better, but not enough to justify the extra cost over the WAS pouches. For a double closed pouch I only have the WAS ones. They work really well so I haven’t looked for any other options.

You got a link for the feed lips? I Should probably get some just in case.

Annoyingly they are out of the short 20 round mags I want to complete the ‘look’ for my DMR upper. I’m sorted for the 35 rounders.
-
I have a stand alone Mk18 barrel currently fitted to my MWS and I also have the original short CQBR barrel. Other than a difference in how the barrel nut fits (to hold the free footing rail on the MK18) I can’t tell any meaningful difference in the length. A different flash hider would make more difference.

If they have a proper AR15 vice block no problem it’s what they are for. If not then no way, you would be better off buying a bench vice and receiver block yourself, as it would be cheaper than a new MWS receiver. A similar effect can be achieved with a bench vice some wooden blocks and an old towel, but it’s riskier and I would expect a professional to have the proper equipment especially when it’s relatively cheep and has so much utility.

There are some used MWS mags in the classifieds. The seller is nothing to do with me, but putting it there for information. It does seem that MWS mags hold their value better than most other things in Airsoft. I looked, but I already have 13 mags and that’s heavy enough when I carry them all...

After some thought I have decided to run my DMR upper on .32g BBs the same as my SBR upper. The main driver behind this was I want to be able to use tracer without having to adjust the hop and FPS every time and .32 is the heaviest I can find. The DMR site limit on .32 is 356fps, any advice on the best way to get there?

Armorer Works Custom .38 SuperComp Race Pistol with Sight
Cyberlawyer posted an advert in Gas Pistols
THIS ADVERT IS 'UNCOMPLETED' - THIS MEANS THE ADVERTISER HASN'T BUMPED THIS LISTING, BUT IT COULD STILL BE WORTH CONTACTING THEM.
- For sale
- Used
For sale is my Armorer Works Custom .38 SuperComp (AW-HX2401 - Silver) Race Pistol rig. The sale includes the optional sight mount, Red dot sight and a C02 magazine (along with the original gas one). The gun also comes with the extended IPSC slide release (pictured) although the stock one will be included and a small bag of extra parts including the original rear iron sight. This gun has been my main race pistol for open class practical pistol, but has never been skirmished. This gun runs well on Green Gas, but it becomes a real monster on higher power gasses or C02. In the interests of full disclosure the sight mount is heavily thread locked on otherwise the mount works loose when firing. This is the same for all of these pistols, but you will need to re-threadlock it when stripping and reassembling the pistol. Brand new this rig cost over £270 (see https://www.bespokeairsoft.co.uk/armorer-works-airsoft/armorer-works-custom-38-supercomp-aw-hx2401-silver). Asking £170 including PayPal and postage to U.K. mainland addresses. Any questions please don’t hesitate to ask.£170

Here is the first iteration of my new DMR upper for my MWS. Once I have the internals sorted I’ll probably convert it with a MK12 front end. At the moment it’s throwing out .36g bbs at 300 FPS with just the benefit of a longer barrel and some joule creep so getting a DMR FPS on .4g bbs shouldn’t be too much harder. I don’t really do the sniper thing enough to warrant a new gun so when an upper came up on the classifieds for a good price it was hard to pass up.

I ended up ordering this one: https://gpairsoft-uk.com/shop/en/53289-gp-dd-mk18-front-set-for-marui-mws-m4a1-gbb-black-gp-mws014a.html it’s good quality and fits well, but the flash hider thread is 14mm clockwise (not counter clockwise like everything else) So your choice of flash hiders is limited or you need to get a converter.

An AR wrench is really worth having when working on the MWS. Make sure you get a good one the cheep ones will break.
-
You can strip the magazines down and check the o rings and clean the follower and spring. I don’t do it every skirmish, unless it’s really muddy, usually every 6 months is more than enough. Otherwise a general wipe down and storing them with a squirt of green gas is all I do after most skirmishes.

I’m just about to start on doing a MK12 DMR upper for my MWS Having and I’m interested to hear peoples views on what inner barrels I should be considering. I’m aiming to get in the 450 FPS range with the gun locked to semi. At the moment my choices seem to be between (1) a 410mm long ORGA Lex 6.05mm barrel or (2) a 370mm long Prometheus 6.03mm barrel. Anyone had any experience with either? Which one will give me the best accuracy and FPS boost? I have the 250mm Prometheus in my current MK18 build and in that context it has been really good. I can also see that G&P do a 6.03, 410mm barrel, anyone used one or have any thoughts? I already have an npas on order and will be reaching out to buy a new brass nub tomorrow. Thanks in advance for any opinions.
