  1. Seems fair. I figured that might be the answer, but good to have confirmation - cheers! I need to have a dig around in the loft to see if I still have the original box it came in. If I'm in luck, I might have kept the packaging some of the upgrade parts came in too. I had tried digging through old emails to retrace my steps but wasn't having much luck.
  2. I'm looking to sell my old bolt action rifle, but have been away from airsoft for 10+ years so I'm a little hazy on exactly what upgrades went into it. Internals are compatible with Type 96 parts and I know it has an upgraded CNC hop-up chamber which fits AEG barrels, but unsure on the manufacturer. It also has a 6.01 tightbore barrel, but again I can't remember the manufacturer after all these years. The spring was upgraded and I have a feeling some other internals too (piston head, spring guide?) but can't say for sure and it's not really apparent from looking at them - so for the purposes of pricing should be excluded. Barrel cap has been replaced with a threaded one, but doesn't currently have a silencer fitted. Front bolt to secure the barrel to the stock is loose and tricky to align, so I usually just wrap with electrical or sniper tape, which holds it solidly in place - even without this, there isn't a huge amount of movement. 2 mags included and the pictured 3-9x scope could also be included in sale. I've disassembled, cleaned and greased the moving parts and put a brand new Guarder hop rubber and nub in. I've test fired at home, bolt cycles smoothly and it's shooting an average of 445fps on the chrono using 0.2g BBs. I think the gun was also sold as a "Warrior G22", but essentially it's an L96 with a custom stock. Retail price for new ones seems to be around the £120-140 mark. Appreciate this is a difficult one given my uncertainty around some of the parts, but even a ballpark figure would be helpful!
  3. Is it a full gas bottle you're carrying or one of those little refillable ones? I'm tempted to do the same but my local site (certainly used to) usually run relatively short games so I'd probably be fine to just re-gas at the safe zone between rounds - the pistol will just be a backup really. Definitely get what you mean about the danger of trying to fill space for the sake of it and then ending up lugging around a bunch of unnecessary weight. Same principle applies ethical hiking/backpacking, so makes sense!
  4. Belt pouches interfering with those on the chest rig did cross my mind when I was thinking of dropping some rifle mag pouches down there. Maybe the holster, pistol mag pouches and dump pouch is the limit then - feels like wasted real estate but having pouches I can't easily access isn't much use either! I guess I just need to play around with different configurations and see what works best in practice.
  5. Hi! I'm putting together a new loadout based around a RRV (with back panel) and a shooters/gunfighter belt and wanted to get peoples input around the optimal way to set things up? Before I picked up the back panel and belt, I'd loaded the RRV up with 6 mag pouches (HSGI Taco clones), a double pistol mag pouch plus pistol holster mounted at 45 degrees across the chest area. The mag pouches aren't too much of an issue if I'm running an M4 setup, with when using my AK I found the taller mags get in the way a little in the mag pouches furthest to the left/right. I'm thinking it might be worth moving 2 of those down to the belt along with the holster and pistol mag pouches? Then adding a folding dump pouch to the rear of the belt and an admin pouch where the holster originally lived on the upper chest area of the RRV. I had tried double stacking the rifle mag pouches on the front of the RRV but felt it was a bit too bulky. Does anyone have any tips/suggestions on the best way to arrange things? Or any other pouches/attachments I should be considering? I see a lot of people running dangle pouches from their chest rigs/plate carriers but I feel like this would either interfere with the belt or flap about too much for my liking. Generally I prefer to keep things light weight and mobile.
  6. Thanks for the advice everyone! Sounds like if I make a genuine effort to check they have some sort of VCRA defence and apply a bit of common sense, that should be sufficient. As some of you have mentioned, it's (hopefully) very unlikely someone is going to be irresponsible with anything I've sold, so chances of me having to prove my innocence in any way is pretty slim! Really appreciate the help 👍
  7. Hi! Apologies if this has been answered previously, but I've had a look through a bunch of threads, read the classifieds banner, done some google searches and had a look through some of the legislation, but couldn't find a definitive answer. My understanding is that anyone selling airsoft weapons is personally responsible for verifying that whoever they are selling to has a VCRA defense, whether that be through UKARA registration or otherwise. I just wanted some guidance on how people generally achieve this? From what I gather, it's not possible to search the UKARA database as an individual - only registered retailers have access. Do I need to ask for details of where people regularly play and then verify that with the site operators? Could I be held liable for just accepting a UKARA registration number from someone if I don't have any way to confirm if it's valid?
  8. I'm filled with equal parts dread and excitement at the task ahead of me ha! I'm fairly sure I've got a load of shims in one of the boxes so will check first and order some if not. Thanks again for all your feedback - I've got a bit of a checklist to follow now, so that gives me a bit more confidence. Much appreciated!
  9. I thought that might be the case, but the lazy part of me was hoping to avoid it haha! I went to get the guns out of storage last night but they're tucked in behind a load of stuff so will need to revisit over the weekend. In the meantime, I'll get some engine de-greaser and the grease you mentioned - really appreciate all the tips! In terms of rubber parts in your average AEG, would that just be the hop rubber, and o-rings on the cylinder and possibly nozzle? And then for GBB Pistols the same, plus o-rings on the fill valves? I'm just trying to come up with a bit of a checklist of all the supplies I'm likely to need. It's a long time since I've done any weapon teching so my memory is a little hazy!
  10. Thanks! In terms of figuring out if I need any new springs, would a quick chrono be the easiest way to check? I have one in a storage box somewhere. And am I right in thinking in thinking a re-grease means opening up all of the gear boxes? I haven't went through everything yet but think there are 5 AEGs in there from memory and I remember some of them being tricky to work on (King Arms Fal v1 in particular).
  11. I've discovered a lot of the retailers I used to use no longer exist, so this is a big help! Cheers
  12. I was running Nimh batteries in all of my guns before I stepped away, but had bought an internal conversion kit and corresponding LiPo for my KAC PDW. I didn't have a balance charger at the time so never got round to using it, but it will be sat in one of the storage boxes. I'll follow your advice and get rid of it ASAP! Fair point on the seals, not really worth the hassle when I could just replace with new. Once I've done a full inventory, I'll get an order in for new hop buckings and any orings I'll need for the mags.
  13. Thanks for the feedback! That thought of buying new had crossed my mind, but part of the reason I was wanting to get everything in working order was so that I could sell at least a couple of the guns off. I'll need to dig everything out and do a full inventory but I had definitely gone a bit overboard with purchases before I stopped playing. I'll plan for new hop rubbers and a barrel clean for each as a minimum and take it from there. Regarding GBB mags, do you reckon soaking the seals in silicone oil or similar would be enough to revive them, or will they likely need replaced entirely? I'd like to think I had everything filled with maintenance gas, but I'm not sure I did.
  14. Hi - I'm looking to get back into airsoft after a ~10 year hiatus and have a few AEGs, some gas pistols and a spring bolt action that have sat in storage this entire time. Is it safe to assume all of my RIFs will require a bit of work before they are ready to field? I'm thinking at a minimum the seals on all of the GBB mags will have perished and there's a good chance most of the batteries are dead? Are hop rubbers also likely to be bust? Will all of the gearboxes need re-greased too? Anything else I should be considering? Cheers!
