  1. Hi, Has anyone here bought something from Rage Airsoft in Stoke? There are some "interesting" google reviews, one post on reddit that doesn't inspire confidence and I also emailed and facebooked them with nothing back. I haven't bought anything from them yet so wanted to get the gen here - if there is any! https://www.rageairsoft.com/ Cheers
  2. Hi mate, even more of a reason to just play with anyone - your English will soon improve!
  3. We should start our own wanted gen 5 club mate! 😂
  4. VFC Glock 17 Gen 5 £144 https://www.defconairsoft.co.uk/product/umarex-glock-17-gen5-gas-blowback-pistol/ People are trying to sell them for £160 on some used sites! Cheers
  5. Yeah some kind of spam checker for duplicate messages would help. Hmmm I don't agree that people (and I do not mean this pejoratively) who are less intelligent or savvy deserve to be victims of theft personally. But It is a tricky one though, because we cannot stop someone from sending money using f&f via paypal or bank transfer. Also, some scammers are fairly convincing and constantly changing how they engage in scams. Cheers!
  6. Dear all, The modern age is upon us, and sadly airsoft is not immune from the scammers that inhabit it. I wonder if it could be worth implementing some type of screening upon sign up to at least stop bots and stem the flow. New sign up information could require: A captcha for registration (I have a feeling that some of the scam accounts on here were actually bots) Country of origin (some plug ins will automatically detect this) and possibly ban IP addresses from outside of the UK although VPN's may have an issue here Answering a basic question upon join up such as "What was the first airsoft site you played at?" or "What does UKARA stand for?" - its really just a bit more work that the scammer will have to do, or perhaps the alternative wold work better, but use up more admin recourses in that that; All sign ups must be approved by an admin Making new sign ups have to comment somewhere on the forum or make an introduction post (whatever they write will probably give an indication of if it is a scammer or not) and have passed 2 days before being able to view and respond to the classifieds. Some of the US airsoft forums do this Require email verification upon sign up (not sure if the site does this already - I can't remember signing up for the site myself!) Cyber crime is on the rise - consider implementing a security position internally on the staff team, one of the roles being to report scammer email addresses appropriately. The NCSC encourage people to report scamming email addresses here https://www.ncsc.gov.uk/collection/phishing-scams/report-scam-email Alternatively to that - it could be worth implementing an internal process where scamming email addresses are submitted to community led scam databases such as this https://www.scamdb.net/index.html - this tool could also be used by said internal sec to vet sign ups Perhaps add a caveat on sign up that says scammers will be reported to the authorities, it may put some off...but at the very least it shows that the forum takes it seriously which is reassuring for users I also had some other ideas for website revenue generation and streamlining the classifieds. At the end of the day, revenue and income should not be dirty words and it merely supports the forum and its growth. Of course all paid for ideas would be optional and top of what already exists: Introduce an optional charge of £2 for forum users to put up another 5 ads after they have reached the maximum of 10 Add a premium section on top of "What's New", "Random Adverts" and "Expiring soon" and then have a "Premium Listing" option when putting the advert on the website where users can pay £2 - this then keeps those paid for ads along the premium bar for 7 days Consider adding a wanted section per category e.g one for Gas, one for electric and one for spring. This allows those wishing to sell an easier way to filter according to what they have and thus better target the "wanted" market Consider adding an "SMG" category to "Gas" and "Electric". This will take away the confusion of choice in terms of users posting it in "Rifles" or "Other". I imagine an SMG category would be popular Consider expanding the AFUK patches for sale - introduce other designs e.g anniversaries Consider allowing patches to be paid for via paypal - its the most popular and widely used platform in the UK with a monthly traffic of over 50 million. 81% of online vendors in the UK accept it. I was going to buy a patch but don't use skrillex and its a faff to find my credit card lol, well one of them! Paypal however - easy. TL;DR- I predict an uptake in patch sales if you allowed paypal. Charge £2 for a forum name change - I would pay that haha! For a month after the name change - a sort of caveat name plate could be seen below the name that says "formally known as ...." This could then disappear after a month so that people do not use it for SERE lol! Other general ideas: Consider adding in a team recruitment section in "Other Airsoft Stuff" - this will attract more teams and thus users Many thanks for reading! Cheers
  7. Hi there, it's buffalo bill here. Congratulations, you have won a life time supply of Tokyo Marui products. I would like to invite you to our factory, it is located in down town LA - so cowabunga dude! I noticed you have a lot of TM's already, so maybe you don't need the lifetime supply? No dramas if not, I will convert it into a life time supply of heavily worn MTP trousers. MTP stands for Mega Theadders Pal and is sort of like a medal of honour.

  8. Wowsers its amazing how much stuff "Kelly" has in stock. Tokyo Marui's? No problem. RPG's? Kelly practically invented the airsoft RPG. Let me guess, can she also get hold of the TM Glock 17 Gen 9? If so I is interested biggus time-us dudemondo.
  9. Normally very good quality in my experience, but like all brands you can always find a dud somewhere. That looks like a lovely 74.
  10. Hi Dan, Yeah I looked at this too, but I am not so sure if the risk of being slapped with more taxes (And I get the impression that very shortly we may all be hit with higher taxes in one way or another on top) is worth it, but he who dares (maybe wins) Rodney! I'm holding fire (no pun intended) until black Friday and seeing if there are any deals here. Cheers
  11. I have ordered from them recently - a few bits and bobs. All good.
  12. After a few scam attempts, I am STILL looking for that sweet sweet TM MP5k High Cycle if anyone wants to get rid of one. Prompt payment waiting!

    Cheers :D

  13. £700?! That is a fair old wad of cash, I suppose it if didn't need anything doing to it and it could hop to 70m out of the box then that would be a fair price. I wonder how much the airsoft upgrade market is worth in comparison to just straight up RIF sales though...
  14. Yes mate, oh don't worry I have been turning in a few already. One even tried using the same MP5k picture as the last one - I suspect he was the same person. Cheers
  15. Yeah I have a wanted ad up just in case so I may get lucky. No dramas if not. I saw the ghk ones, look great but not sure they are worth the premium price tag for me personally. Cheers
  16. Yeah all fair points. Time will tell I suppose. Cheers
  17. Oh dear, it seems I am late to the party, something tells me my "wanted TM Glock 17 Gen 5" post is doomed after reading all of this! 🤣 Oh well, I suppose I can always hold out in hope. I saw them at airsoft world for £163 and had my chance. Umarex it is I guess which I believe to be the next best thing?
  18. Well lads, you can't take it with you and there's no use crying over spilt milk! Consume and be merry.
  19. There are actually good out of the box and nicely built for a polymer rif.
  20. I had a Tokyo Marui AK74sn and that was incredible out of the box. Buy once - cry once. 😪
  21. Hello! This is one of my old stomping grounds for the past...15ish years on and off. The site is now open for Saturday skirmishes for airsofters which I think is a great idea and they have been close to full capacity now for both games days. I have always felt a sense of dread after a Sunday skirmish knowing that I will be back in work the next day...but alas no more! The site owner has heavily invested in a sound system, outside cover, a bigger well layed car park AND perhaps the pièce de résistance: a proper smooth driveway up to the site. In short - he has invested fully back into the infrastructure of the site...and I am sure we know of many sites where making the drive up to the safe zone causes tyre anxiety lol. Well worth travelling for, decent marshals and the site is on the large side with 120 acres with a mixture of different areas and scenarios available to it. The only partial issue I have with it now is the medic rule, which is very easily exploitable. They use a "get hit - walk 30 paces and back in" rule which is good in some ways as it keeps the game pushing on and the tension up, but not so good when the player just comes back to where he just died knowing your rough last position and perhaps strength and even brings some mates haha. It is a bit cheesy in that regard but not the end of the world and it gves the players lots of trigger time and tense firefights. That said, they have ran milsims there with the standard milsim medic rules- I hope one day they one some of these again. Overall, a very well run site - and while of course all sites have at one time or another had issues with hit taking, the "regs" there do not get special treatment like I have seen at other sites and I think it has probably been on the low end of drama compared to some of the other sites I have visited. Well worth a pop lads. Cheers.
