What Wo1f said, I opt for a thicker silicon on valves. Solves it every time unless there's actual damage to the seals themselves or dirt compromising them. A drop or two then push the valve in and out a few times....

Seem's fair. I'll get my coat....

Vegans need to eat about 3 fields each a day to get almost enough energy as one dead juicy lump of meat minced into a patty. It would be greener to get rid of Vegans. And the world would be happier too.

This reminds me of a discussion with a vegan at work about why we have canine teeth and incisors.

I would of thought so and I'll remember the G&P option you've mentioned. I'm just window shopping for the moment and there's a lot to browse on the link Rocketdogbert provided so I'll do my research with that in mind too. Knowing RS kits will fit certainly opens up options I hadn't considered. And it also means I can look further a field than regular airsoft sites. Thanks fellas. Appreciate it. 👍

Oh my, now that's a thought I hadn't had so thank you very much. lol That's a dangerous site. I'll be stuck on there for hours now.

Anyone have a source for real nice fixed old school styled AR stock (M16 sort of thing) for the MWS? I can only seem to find AEG versions... Always wanted one and I can't stand the wobble of the OEM one. It's my only gripe... the rest is precision.
-
That's fine, I've got various weights upto 0.5 so when I do get around to swapping out the bucking and nub I'll give them a try. After 0.3 things start to get a bit expensive anyway, not an issue on a bolt action but in this case it would certainly add up. I tend to only use Geoffs Precision & Super Precision.

That's good to know, yourself and @Jacket gave the same answer and that's good enough for me! 2 for 2 👍 I'll give them a go. Got a lot of 0.3 too; white & black ones. Black are no good for testing.... like shooting with eyes shut. Figured I'll ring off a few mags with it stock (hopefully tommorow) so I have a benchmark for the Tan and nub I've lined up. I like to see what is happening before I change something to be aware of the change be it positive or negative. Thanks fellas. I'll check it out, thanks 👍 EDIT: Bummer, no longer in stock... I'll keep looking.

Well today hasn't gone as planned so I didn't get to change the bucking and install the nub although I have watched a few vids and it looks easy enough. Couple of questions if I may O'GURUs of MWS Land: With the stock nub & bucking what kind of weight BBs would you recommend? (I have most weights) And what speedloader adaptors are you fellas using? Does it take the usual GBBR one that fits WE & GHK? (Not digging the wand!) – I know I should try it but as I can't shoot it today either I figured I'd just ask for when I get the chance 👍 Cheers fellas

I'll bite that bullet tomorrow, thanks for the confirmation 👍 (secretly I hoped you'd say no, it just slides out without all the work )
-
@Wo1f I take it it's an absolute mission to get to the hop unit from what I can see. Look's like I'll have to take the whole front section apart to release it? Outer barrel the lot? Mercy.... .... that can wait till tomorrow! I'm sure thinking about it is perhaps worse than reality?!
-
OK, this has been on my mind all day whilst modding the mags. Would it be a case of me supplying the parts and you combining them or would you be happy to give me a price for a "job done here you go enjoy" sale? Feel free to PM me! I feel I need this and whilst the chance is there I'd be daft to miss out. 👍

I know right, OK propane has the gassy smell but if they say no then there's little reasoning with them. Like you said Green's the same thing with silicon. Red is propane and a little ethane Not sure if Nuprol black is just more ethane again but traditionally black gas was always Co2 in non-airsoft circles. Yes a WE MP5K; NPAS installed and I've got the full set of Z-parts for it but have yet to get round to installing them. It is a little weighty but it's funky and fun. Hops really well so apart from the NPAS it's stock. The other GBBR is a GHK AK74UN with hispeed buffer and a TNT APS-X T hop & barrel (a different TNT APS-X hop to the one this nub has come from which is a TR Hop however it was never reliable). Good shooter but metal Mags are a bitch (specifically the AKM metal ones, the locking lips like to move as they're only crimped on - again been meaning to apoxy them in place).
-
All Mag mods done, all hold a seal. 👍 Next stop: Install the Tan bucking & try the nub I mentioned. I might actually get to fire a shot off soon... Fun stuff. This is the TNT APS-X nub I have, it's like a dumb bell for an Ant. Not quite as rounded as the super nub:

I just gave it a squirt of green gas purely for leak checks. Just what I had laying about really, sloppy nuprol 2.0. I've also got Red 3.0 and Abbey 144a gas too. Propane interests me but I'll have to check my site allows it as out of the few I've played I know one definitely doesn't which just happens to be a place I no longer go. None of it's been run through the MWS as of yet, just my thumb pushing the valve to check it was all working and that the part I took out and modded is air tight too. Is Guarder power up gas clean and what sort of FPS does it give you? I'll be looking to keep mine around the 350 mark. I only really play on semi but I like to have the option to let a few rip for a laugh sometimes. I haven't chono'd it or anything yet so I don't know if I'll need an NPAS or similar yet. My MP5K runs on red year round with the NPAS fully open and it sits happily at 350 fps. EDIT: Think I may have put the follower spring in backwards on the first mag, oops. Guess I'll have to open it up again.

I'll give it a go 👍 One down, 3 to go. I cut it to 6mm above the brass tube. Filled the tube with a piece of kitchen paper to keep the inners clean and wrapped the outer valve to keep that clean too. Diamond cut the tube off and round filed the burrs. Job done. I'm on a mission. EDIT 1: No leaks 👍 EDIT 2: Tan Buckings just arrived.
-
You were right of course o'guru of all things MWS. Turned out easy. Choppy choppy time. 👍
-
OK thank you. I'll do that. I was stumped when you said an Allen would do the job. lol
-
Sorry Wolf to ask again; the baddabing vid shows him using a valve key to remove th valve and to my eyes can't be unscewed with out one? I mean it's a two part slot with the fill valve in the centre of the brass. I can't see how to remove it without a key? I've used an Allen key to remove the base plate but how can I remove the next part to gain access to the tube with an allen? Not sure what I'm missing here?
-
Oh, Cool! I'll get right on with it then. Thank you. 👍 Curious though, why not remove them? Is it because it's easier and less risk of damage?

Fellas, which gas valve tool is the right one for the MWS mags? I need to order one as I don't think the one I have will work with these. I would like to do the green gas mod to my mags....
