A full sized can will completely fill it with about 1/4 of the can left. As long as it’s not cold, and you’re not full autoing constantly (i.e. leaving enough time between shots you don’t have a cool down problem) the gas will last for a mag full (300-350bb’s)

Oh no, £11  for 800ml green gas+ 350bbs per mag 😢.  I wonder if converting to hpa would work out cheaper in the short to medium term?

  2. I tried installing the Rocket cylinder head and nozzle. The cylinder head was too tight for the stock cyma cylinder and it ripped the o rings so went back the original head, loads of silicone grease and the rocket nozzle. With the gun assembled it seems to shoot well again other than the fact that it only shoots auto with the selector in the full auto and semi.

I really don't enjoy the drama that follows every time I open and aeg gearbox. 😔

I'll have to open it up again to see what is preventing it from semi fire.

  3. Thanks for the tips!

With the nozzle extended I can't get any compression in the cylinder.

I ordered a new nozzle of the same length and a new cylinder head just to be safe.

I noticed some wear on the nozzle of the cylinder head and a difference in external diameter from 5.2mm nearer the tip but not at the very end and 5.3mm in the middle.

I'll report back once the new parts are installed.

  4. Hi,

During the last skirmishing session my CM045 seemed to lose considerable power.

I opened it up and found the cylinder head was worn out. Replaced it and the nozzle and it works great now.

  5. I bought a used Novritsch SSE18 AEP with a 7.4V 550mah battery. With a battery fully charged it shoots single and auto as expected when tested indoors.

Storing the pistol in the shed where the temp is in the low 2-10 degrees Celsius if I try to shoot on single it doesn't seem to have the power to compress the spring and complete a cycle. On auto it takes over a second to complete the first cycle but then it shoots OK while the trigger is pressed.

If I keep it indoors it seems to have no problems.

I took it skirmishing at the weekend and found I couldn't depend on it to shoot. Temperature ranged from 1-8 degrees Celsius through the day.

I bought it as my gas pistols are very unreliable in the winter and hoped an AEP wouldn't suffer from the cold.

Do all AEPs behave like this or is the battery faulty?

  6. The Cyma CM045

I love mine to bits. It's realy well made.

Here it is with mismatched wooden grips. Thanks for the opportunity to show her 🙂

Snappy trigger response in semi making it decent for CQB with only a 7.4v lipo.

I've just added a mosfet to mine and on an 11.1v lipo and no other mods it's a monster on auto as well as semi.

A pistol lanyard would be a better option that a spiral cable. You can do it in a paracord sleeve with a core to prevent snagging and yanking on the cable.

I've done a few for lights, switches and some that include a step down for running 4s lipos in 2s systems (fpv goggles)

Have a good silicon shield cable slightly longer than the paracord outer, I use 550, then feed the cable as a fine paracord through the middle. Once the all threaded through melt the paracords together and add a little heat shrink. Then its just soldering the wiring together.  And the battery goes in a pocket/pouch next to the lanyard fix point.

Do you have a photo of what the end result looks like?

  8. I've wired a mosfet in the grip of my JG V61 and wanted to run it with a lipo stored in a pouch by connecting it through a coiled cable.

I bought a coiled shaver charging cable, wired it with deans and connected it to the 7.4V lipo battery and mosfet.

The gun fires fine when the battery is connected directly to the mosfet but it doesn't fire when connected through the coiled cable. I checked the positive and negatives are soldered the right way.

I can feel the coiled cable getting very hot and suspect the few wispy strands of wires are too thin to carry the 20-30 Amp rating of the battery.

Trouble is that going by this I would need a 2.5mm core cable to carry 20-30 amps https://www.energy-solutions.co.uk/technical-information and I can't seem to find reasonably priced coiled cables that thick.

I think the default cabling in most AEGs is 18AWG which is 0.75mm square and 16AWG is 1.5mm.

What coiled cables is everyone else using that work?

  9. Hi,

I got a boneyard JG V61 that I managed to get working but when the battery is connected there is no safety or semi auto. At some point the previous owner took out the trigger mechanism and replaced it with a push switch.

The selector doesn't connect to anything.2059381544_CameraZOOM-202112221223107322.thumb.jpg.d6f0ed345bc3987a72cb8fda4def3387.jpg126425777_CameraZOOM-202112221222579742.thumb.jpg.edf920e2de5878f8c08ebe8044026e6b.jpg

Does anyone know if there is a way of changing between semi and full auto?

I could only see a little lever under the gearbox in front of the motor but moving it backwards and forwards while test firing didn't appear to do anything.

Another victim of the airsoft curse of buying everything that you'd need to skirmish with a gnu up front, then as soon as the unboxing hit has worn off, realising that you never will.

I'd assume that having test shot it, he's just realised that.  Probably bought the "300fps" lie and now thinks he can sell it in to another mug.

Although I think my favourite part is disclosing that the retailer has already refused a return, so you can be absolutely guaranteed that you have no possible comeback if it turns out to be a complete lemon. :D

Can't return it as the seller doesn't sell airsoft anymore doesn't sound plausible.

  11. Please send it back if within the two weeks period. I also had the same gun, used it to plink in the garden and eventually as a backup gun. First time I skirmished it parts started falling off.

Hi I’m looking to get into airsoft by Christmas but I’m really not sure what weapons/s to get

i have a budget of 100£ for and aeg and 50£ for a side arm if required as well as 50£ for gear

please could you give me some suggestions I would much appreciate it

    thanks

From personal experience you can absolutely get a good bulletproof gun in two tone for under £100 but delivery might be tight before Christmas.

My first aeg and my local airsoft site's rental guns(select the two tone service):

    https://www.davescustomairsoft.co.uk/airsoft-weapons/assault-rifles-aeg/cm028b-tactical-assault-rifle-replica?sort=p.price&order=ASC

Might take over two weeks with delivery.

Or my second AEG also awesome just slightly more expensive:

    https://www.davescustomairsoft.co.uk/cyma-cm-011-g36c-aeg-black

You don't need an aeg that costs over £150 for reliable and accurate pewpew fun.

I wouldn't get a pistol. I never use mine and I very rarely see any more than a couple of people at any event use one in a game briefly.

Mmm, it seems almost too good to be true.  I wonder if £40/£180-ish are rounded off somewhat optimistically, and ignoring postage.

But if I can get GunFire gats for even 25% (maximum, not "ish") plus postage extra, it does make them a viable option again.

Doesn't the listed price already include Polish VAT? If that is the case shouldn't we be able to claim  back the tax before paying UK VAT?

Or does it only work when buying goods from the EU in person and claiming when exiting the EU?
