Should more sites weigh the bbs during chrono?
Lyndication replied to JVacation's topic in General Discussion
Mate they keep telling you this: you can't chrono Joules. If someone walks up to the chrono, says they're shooting .28s, then the fps is 240 the marshal chuckles and says, "it's running a bit low innit?" It's not like it's unheard of for a gun to shoot at 1J or even less. Not everyone has RIFs tuned to 0.00001J below the limit. You might pick the odd cheater out with this interrogation, but you'll "catch" 50 kids with two tone shitters for every actual cheater, and hold the chrono queue up for an hour. -

Should more sites weigh the bbs during chrono?
mrfoxhound replied to JVacation's topic in General Discussion
its combination joules and weighing bbs, joules is the constant if the site limit for full auto aeg is 1.2 j and someone Chronos 1.2 j but the fps is 240 and they said the bb weight is 0.28 they lying cos a 0.28 at 1.2 j would chrono at 300/310 fps at 1.20 j , you would need to then weight to confirm , so technically they have passed chrono but have lied about the bb weight ,if there lying about bb weight what else are they being dishonest about? -

Yep would have got it myself if I hadn't spent the month's budget on other things, that's a good price

I am genuinely tempted to pick it up.

That's a solid deal for sure. NPAS as standard in GBBRs would be great.
-
The best option would be to take it to a reputable tech near you or find someone trust worthy (and who knows what they're doing) and let them have a run at it. Some, if not most, techs will let you post your gun to them if you don't want to travel. The ARP9 is a good gun, i'd suggest getting it fixed rather than selling it. If you bought it online using paypal G&S, you could try pushing for a refund from the seller as it's not functional and I assume it was advertised as working.

Poorly shimmed AEG gear boxes really grind my gears.

I have no idea of its stock or not tbh unfortunately, was thinking of getting a new battery and trying to adjust the motor height and see of that does anything 🤷🏼♂️ if it doesn't, it looks like I'll have to sell it to fund something that actually works properly 🤦🏻♂️

Almost returned to stock now - an NPAS valve should come as standard with GBBRs these days to be honest. At that price, I'll be surprised if the listing lasts 3 or 4 hours.

I’ve had good success with the team Wendy replica pads / harness set from Aliexpress. i put them in FMA L/XL lids and it’s the only way I’ve been able to get a comfortable fit.

Should more sites weigh the bbs during chrono?
JVacation replied to JVacation's topic in General Discussion
I still think the best and easiest way to do it is: 1) Player goes to chrono and says what weight they are using 2) Marshall chooses a random amount of shots through the chrono 3) if all readings are in the limit; remove the mag and take a sample of bbs. 4) Weigh the bb on some micro scales (your typical drug dealer scale haha) 5) Approve the player if weight matches Yes this can be somewhat cheated still but it makes it far harder -
Should more sites weigh the bbs during chrono?

Mmm. Biohazard is pretty good, and did actually in-game chrono an HPA pistol user who I fingered for blasting me shockingly hard. And they checked his gun with their own 0.2g BBs, also good. But what if he was actually running heavy BBs? My fingernail chrono suggests that he was. -
Forums (well, forum singular I don't know of any other active ones in English) are my main go-to, always have been. Not perfect but the highest overall knowledge and maturity levels and simply by far the best format/layout of discussions. I'm always on my desktop though and the hardware change is a big factor in the move from website forums to social media apps. I like the main airsoft sub-reddit quite a bit in terms of the builds and loadouts etc that you can see, a lot of nice guns and the like getting up-voted most days with (imho) better discussion attached than FB. Personally I've seen many a niche piece of kit or gun part on there that I found very interesting. I've also often found answers to questions or useful pics on the reddit when I've google-d for things, as google actually indexes reddit in some meaningful way whereas 99% of IG and FB doesn't seem to come up in google results (that or the content just doesn't exist on those platforms). As mentioned there's quite a lot of decent sub-hobby/niche groups on FB where the people will hang with the most knowledge on NGRS MP5s or a specific family of GBBRs or pistols, or whatever. Use each platform appropriately to take best advantage of the content which they host. Oh and there's discord, pretty sure there's tons on there, but I almost never use it so couldn't really comment. Again not sure that layout is good for growing a depository of info in the way a forum layout is. It's more like an old school internet chatroom, where a forum is like a series of mini blog posts.

I guess we'll see if it's the going rate if it actually sells. Currently, does not seem to be getting received well.

Tons still in armouries, still used, but fallen out of favour I'd say for sure. I had a search out of my own curiosity, and most pics of A3s don't have them, especially with infantry blokes - who are amongst the small portion of the forces using the L85 but also given some element of leeway in configuring it. In the pics where the grip-pods are mounted, I personally reckon it's mostly because the person was told they had to have it - which I'd say is most UK service people when using TES A2s. Foregrips in general don't always get along with AKs, which is why there's a few funky ones from ruskie brands that stick out at weird angles, so that's a specific issue in the OP's case and it's exacerbated because foregrips with integrated bi-pods are always the longest/tallest of all types of foregrip. While the real grip-pods (the GPS design that the US and UK have issued) are 'ok', they're still not the most durable thing which is unavoidable due to the design, so then when you make a replica with typical airsoft materials you usually end up with something very flimsy. I'd wager most people who've ever attached a bi-pod of any kind for a functional purpose vs emulating something real, have ended up taking it off again not long later, since they're usually in the worst place to add weight (near the muzzle) and are no assistance in terms of accuracy with guns that shoot minute-of-barn at their maximum effective range. They have niche uses of course, good if you're going to stay in a spot you can rest the gun for 20+ minutes and just cover one narrow alley, but not a ton else.

Bought new by me in Jan this year. This ahs probably done 15 evening games at UCAP bunker since. I built this up with multiple different parts before returning it back to near stock as it is now. Subsequently, the CQBR furniture is in great conditi0on and largely unused. This is now completely stock asides from a QD sling mount on the buffer tube and a Federal Concepts NPAS and 130% nozzle return spring. It also has an expanding front take down pin so there's not receiver play at all once tightened. No magazine unfortunately. I'll need to see your defence prior to sale.£275
