Hello Hive mind.

I am new to HPA and I would like to upgrade my specna amrs m4 to HPA engine with co2 in the stock - to build something like Tippmann Omega v2. (I really don't like the idea of tank and the line).

What would you recommend that is simple to install and operate (for a noob like me), reliable and does not cost both kidneys.

Thank you.

I'm not an HPA user myself but I'd imagine it would really help if you specified a budget (with wiggle room if there is some) so those better versed than me could give advice of what hardware falls within it.

I have bought a lot of my kit from HPA UK and as you'd probably guessed, they have a lot of HPA parts to build a stock tank setup.

What do you want a hpa setup for that you couldnt acheive with another platform?

Edit: that sounds like sarcasm but it's meant to be a serious question to see if turning to the dark side is actually going to give you what you want it to.

Getting into HPA will always cost you a kidney, unfortunately, so I'd echo this. What do you want from HPA that you can't get with a regular AEG?

HPA engines are very expensive and co2 stocks are pretty expensive too and I could see you easily spending £700+ on the two; you need both to do what you want to do. Line tank and regulator aren't much cheaper either. Speaking as someone who has (and somewhat regrets buying) an MTW-308 with the Wraith X set up for co2, it is a heavy investment and may not do what you think it will. While my MTW-308 is probably my "best" gun with its performance, light weight and how silent it is, it really doesn't do it for me and ended up being a £1000+ wall hanger because I never use it.

Thank you for all the replies. My budget would be preferably sub £500. But it seems to be too optimistic from what I read.

What I hope to achieve is winter set up for gbbr passionate.

In summer I love to run my gbbrs. I am ok with limited mag capacity and gbbr performance. Winter is my worst enemy when temperature falls below 10 degrees gbbr gets sluggish and below 5 degrees is not fun at all (even on stronger gases).

This is where the idea of CO2 came. I run CO2 pistols in winter and in the conditions I play they work like charm. I know I could get co2 mags for my gbbr but this will significantly increase wear and tear.

Saying this now I may need to reconsider as cost of HPA and CO2 stock may provide me with spare parts for years for my GBBR 😮

So you want a system with recoil rather than a pure bb slinging engine?

Because it sounds like co2 mags might be the better option if that's the priority.

Not necessarily. For my winter set up I will be ok to sacrifice the recoil for performance (especially trigger response).
