novioman Posted Friday at 12:46 Share Posted Friday at 12:46 (edited) Saw that HPA U.K. have the GHK Glock 17 Gen 5 in, and at a great price. Landwarrior who are the Umarex main agent apparently still don’t have them, listed as out of stock, and listed at £70 more than HPA. novioman Posted Friday at 15:56 Author Share Posted Friday at 15:56 (edited) I have sets of the GHK plates if anyone wants to mount a red dot. £22 posted. Don’t go and pay the ridiculous £30 plus postage that some shops are asking. Edited Sunday at 09:57 by novioman
Super64 Posted Friday at 22:44 Share Posted Friday at 22:44 Defcon has them in as well. I’m definitely intending to pick one up. 6 hours ago, novioman said: I have sets of the GHK plates if anyone wants to mount a red dot. £20 posted. Super64 Posted Saturday at 12:11 Share Posted Saturday at 12:11 Unfortunately, I don’t think the ACRO fits on those mounts. BFA do a steel mounting plate for the ACRO, so I guess I’ll need one of those.

BigAl Posted Sunday at 17:33 Share Posted Sunday at 17:33 Are the trades on these accurate to RS and no Licensed by rubbish? If so got and ERG going out the door tonight, might just grab that last one.

Easily remedied with a bit of stippling. One thing to note to get the best out the pistol you will need a 4UAD hop unit (stock one is dogshit) and trigger. If the striker housing moves will also benefit from a bit of shimming. Even with all that the Gen 5 is still my favourite pistol. Trigger break and blow back always put a smile on my face, the light mags are nice to. Been running mine on Co2 and 220 PSI gas in the GG mags. When I save up enough pocket money next buy is the steel slide. BigAl

I put a steel slide on one of my VFC Glock 45s and it made it really sluggish. Put a 130% recoil spring on and it made little difference, even when running on CO2. Don't know how the GHKs will be with steel slides but apparently it's quite normal for them to run/cycle worse than with ally slides.

In winter it empty's and locks back with snow on the ground (with 220psi gas) running on Co2 its hard not to get tight pants when using it :). Sad part is its made me relegate all my other pistols to the eventually sell category. Edit: Anonymoose you might of never seen the insides of one so the reason GHKs kick so hard and can run heavy slides soo well is the basically have an AR style nozzle in them and are hammerless. So huge expansion chamber with not having to overcome a hammer. Blow back comparison vid 28 minutes ago, BigAl said: Cheers for that mate, how much do you reckon the Steel Slides will be? Sorry you seem to know your way around a glock ive got a completely stock TM glock 17 gen 3 which I've had for like 8 years and I've always liked the idea of a metal slide, what upgrades would you recommend for it or any specific slides youd use? Or is there any real reason to treat myself to a new gen5?

Didn't realize they were so different inside and can run a steel slide well. When i built my VFC one it was pretty disappointing.
novioman Posted Sunday at 21:02 Author Share Posted Sunday at 21:02 (edited) HPA have sold out now, although I’am told Defcon still have them at £200. I still have I set of the GHK mounts if anyone wants to add a red dot to the Gen 5. Edited Sunday at 21:06 by novioman
LMKipper Posted yesterday at 12:05 Share Posted yesterday at 12:05 (edited) HPA actually just emailed me saying they can't fulfill my order as they've run out but they've given me the option to wait (they think around 2 weeks). I've received the same email. Annoyed is not the word. They were showing as having 3 in stock when I ordered mine on Saturday evening. I've noticed that cancelling the order and receiving a refund wasn't one of the options. I did reply initially saying to give me a full refund and I'd look to order from somewhere else, but I've since told them I'll just wait.

Lucky that both of you are patient people, I would be going to Defcon and asking HPA for a refund. I’am surprised though, I have purchased from HPA a few times and they have been very good.
