I'll be staying in Bristol starting from this year's September. Was wondering if any of you guys know a good spot to play some game.

I've searched up in google and it seems blackops and spartan woodland would be the options. Which one do you guys prefer?

+ seems there's blackops portishead and blackops cribbs causeway. How do i check whether which one of those two places helds walk-in?

Have a nice day :))

Have you looked on their website?

They say :

Our Airsoft Walk-on Events are held regularly on Sundays, and generally alternate between our two venues at Cribbs Causeway and Portishead.

I guess i should call them and ask where the game would be held on this weekend to figure it out.

How far are you likely to travel cos you’re  in a good position to some good venues the two I would visit (out side of Bristol) when I worked in Bristol.

Spartan Airsoft’s “ the college” in Chippenham. Not sure if it’s immediately open as they were repairing the roof .
The other site is Gloucester Prison “ vendetta“ both excellent CQB. I haven’t done Spartans woodland site yet as there’s two other sites I go to further east along the m4

Thanks for the info :)) According to google maps, it will take an hour to Chippenham by gwr train! Definitely can make it there. For the vendetta it's hour and half by train. But I cannot find any bus routes in Gloucester. So it seems I need to walk for 30min to get there.

Even though it is still listed on their site, the Portishead site closed years ago.

Ahhh no wonder!! Thanks for the info 😁😁

I take it you're stuck using public transport, like me. I've found this site useful for getting to sites 0n public transport.

https://www.traveline.info/

Also tbh 30 minutes walk from a station isn't bad, I've done double that in the past.

Last, I hope it doesn't ned to be said but when using public transport make sure the guns stay hidden and unloaded with mags stored in a separate pocket

Ask on their FB is someone is driving up or something, car share for petrol money.

If you take transport, defo some spare clothes for the way back and wet wipes as you might find yourself a bit more ... how to put this delicately ... pungent than at the start of the day.

Also, your profile lists that you looking for a replica, my advice, r ent until you can get your ukara-defense-to-buy-but-defo-not-a-licence.

And WELCOME TO AIRSOFT !!!

Thank you for the advice! Didn't think about the spare clothes and car shares. Will look it up :))

Another tip with public transport is to think twice about your choice of bags.

A gun bag is designed well for the purpose, but looks like a gun bag

Consider other options, eg a sports bag or hold-all rather than a dedicated gun bag, or alternatively an outer bag - I have a snowboard bag that I used to use with gun bags inside it, that was more for the convenience of storing and carrying two or three gun bags at once from the back of the car onto the site but it also anonymises the contents

(It would have been useful on the day that my car was parked on one side of motorway services and we had traveled on as a group getting dropped off on the other side.  My team mate passenger was not so good at luggage and had also bought another gun with no bag or case - We had to make multiple trips due to the amount of gear, wrapped his in dirty playing clothes, met coach loads of pedestrians on the bridge in the opposite direction and as I had parked in a distant quiet part of the car park the motorway police had decided to meet up for their coffee and donuts next to my car - a big anonymous bag with lots of spare space would have been useful

Regarding spare clothes consider them for multiple purposes:

You can avoid looking like a gun nut on public transport

A clean set of clothes feels so good after a days play

Depending on venue, weather and your style of play - if you have extra carrying capacity some spare playing clothes can let you be dry, clean and comfortable especially if the site breaks for lunch - it’s then that you cool down and feel grotty after crawling through mud earlier on. Fresh playing clothes reinvigorates you

I second the above. When I first started I used a hard gun case and found it attracted too much attention, usually from pissed up idiots thinking they're funny and original asking "what you got in there, a machine gun?". Now I use one of these.

It may not be as subtle as a sports bag but it doesn't scream gun as much as a hard case. For example my neighbor thought it was fishing gear when he first saw me coming home from a gameday.

yeah the bag thing sounds right. I was planning to buy a gun bag that looks simillar to the fish rod bags. Also for the backpacks i bought black ones instead of military camo ones.
The whole not looking suspicious thing would be important to me cus i'm a foreigner. Imagine random South korean with military gears roaming on the street. That's a nono lmao. Anyways, thanks for the tips!
