Are there any brands that make a good one?

I am not looking for anything amazing, eg; I spent like 20 quid on ebay for a cheap clone but the plastic on the back lens was cracked when I got it so I had to return it, but it seemed awful to use anyway - I was looking at ones like this;

https://shop.jkarmy.com/accessories/optics/red-dots/aim-zps-2-z-red-green-dot-qd-mount-de.html

https://shop.jkarmy.com/accessories/optics/red-dots/aim-5-3-red-green-dot-sight-de.html

Are they both eotech clones? Only the top one looks like ones I've seen, but I like the look of both, - 4 bucks difference doesn't seem much but if you're getting a better scope then I'd pay it, that's about my price range anyway. It's for a SCAR-H with EGLM UGL in Tan w/ Torch+PEQ Box in Tan, so looking for one to match.

If this is the AIM-O version it looks pretty not bad?

Thanks.

I've got one of those Swiss Arms EoTech lens protectors , so something that'll fit in would be great since I had to pay double shipping for that and something else I bought from there -_-

Thanks guys.

Yes, they're both clones of different EoTech sights. The first one you've linked to is the same as the video you've posted in that they're clones of the XPS3 series sights (you can see the real deal ones here: https://www.eotechinc.com/holographic-weapon-sights)

The Aim/Aim-O sights are pretty decent for the money but I'd have a look on Aliexpress rather than buy from JK Army. More likely to get yourself free shipping!

Good point. In that case, I would recommend Specwarfare.com http://shop.specwarfare.com/element-aim-o-xps-2-0-red-green-dot-qd-mount-dark-earth

Thanks. The one on JK is "AIM ZPS 2-Z" and that's listed as "AIM ZPS 2", any idea if the Z means anything or just a listing error and they're all 'Z' or anything? can't find any differences googling.

Just to point out but i am sure you are aware.

Both of these are clone EoTech sights, RS EoTech sights start around £400 and head north from there brand new if you can source a good dealer.

EoTech Clone sights are really cheap red dot sights dressed up in an EoTech looking shell, they are almost never nitrogen purged so suffer from internal fogging (this has happened to me) on cold days.

Because they are cheap Red Dot sights the front glass element is mirrored to reflect the LED light back towards the user. This mirror effect often and nearly always makes the sight picture a lot darker, like putting sunglasses on.

The sight picture in these cheap clones often suffer badly from parallax issues, this causes the ring of the EoTech to warp into different shapes.

They almost never hold zero, forget about using it on a GBBR ever, heck the vibration of AEGs may be enough to throw them of whack every time.

Most certainly are NOT weather proof.

I had one of these cheap sights when i started airsofting and quickly realised what a waste of money they are.

In the image below is a real steel EoTech 552 on my HPA SAI M4 rifle, other than the lens protector you'll notice that you can see straight through to the back of the sight without colour or light distortion. A Clone would have been mirrored so you would probably not see out the back of the sight. Also of note you'll see that the ceiling (inside) of the sight is concaved, on clones its a flat ceiling.

Now of course i am in no way insinuating that you go and get a RS EoTech 552 brand new, no i would call that crazy. My one was second hand for £250.

Good clone brands are Hurricane and below them G&P, they suffer less from parallax but still have the mirrored front and may not hold zero.

As another good alternative to EoTech sights is the Vortex ones, they will hold zero, are not as stupidly expensive as EoTechs and come with a lifetime warranty.

Unless of course you are going for just the looks and that it isnt functional.

I like the look of the ET sights, just did a quick google and there's this vortex one that looks similar; 41dxN5mqOXL._SX425_.jpg

I read about the tinted lenses and/or mirroring issues, I thought paying 50 bucks for a replica rather than 25 would get me a better one, is it worth just saving up for something legit like a Vortex? Any specific recommendations that look like the ET ones (boxey etc) I can go on the lookout for a second hand one etc? And it's gotta be able to come in Tan colour.

Thanks again.
