I'm looking at getting a G&G Combat Machine CM16 Raider Short for my first Airsoft gun just wondering people's views on it any insight would be much appreciated

It is regularly recommended as a first purchase. I don't think you can go wrong with one.

 

I have a GC16 which is a Combat Machine with a metal receiver. I am very happy with it.

 

Lots of reviews of it on forums and youtube.

+1.  Workmate Eddie has the Raider Long.  It's made of a light but strong polymer, and his shoots consistently and accurately.  Despite them both being plastic fantastics, the G&G feels significantly nicer than my CYMA M4, and the gearbox is quieter and smoother.

 

The Short will shoot just as well, and be handier  - a 233mm inner barrel is more than sufficient for airsoft.

The fact that I'd be happy to play with a raider every day is testament to how good they really are.

 

Consider the CM18 over the CM16 for cooler looks and more RIS room.
