I’m not daft, but by no means an electronics whizz either, I have an issue with a clone RMR of mine.

It works great until you turn it off, then it won’t turn back on again.

Take it off the mount, remove and refit the battery, it works again.

Tried a new good quality battery, tried packing the battery compartment for a tighter fit, makes no difference.

I’m out at the moment, but the only visible damage is a cut in the negative battery connector, looks likely caused by somebody incorrectly levering the battery out BUT as connector is a flat plate and only damaged on one side, there is still connectivity in the circuit.

Any ideas gratefully received.

Thanks

A drained battery was my first thought, but you've already tried that..

Could it be the terminals? Are they clean?

Nope, I’ll get some pics tomorrow, but all clean unfortunately?

Does it turn on and off normally when it’s not mounted to the gun?

That’s my idea shot then. I’ve seen one before that when tightened down to a slide it deformed the terminal enough to short it. Can you shim the battery with some foil, perhaps?

It isn’t that unfortunately, it’s purely that it won’t turn on once it’s off.

Well, the battery lasts about a year apparently so I guess I’ll just leave it on lol

It’ll be the switch itself RDB, something will be out of alignment.
