Emergencychimps Posted July 7 Posted July 7 Check which generation mags they are (assuming they're tm stanags). The ones I had (generation 3) were picky about which gas nozzle I could load from, plastic worked but certain metal ones didn't. Is the MWS stock? Is it brand new?

Gen 3, using Nuprol 2.0 with the metal nozzle. Stock except BavTac 140% return nozzle springs Yeah, first time running it since I got it 4 odd months ago When I filled the mags at home they was weighing in at 460 - 465g (No BB's) and after the first time all 4 mags did what they did, I purged them all and ran into the same issue afterwards Edited July 7 by Austeyr
SSPKali Posted July 16 Posted July 16 (edited) Had a couple of odd failures recently - broke a nozzle guide (think it was AG) snapped off the front part that sits in the BCG and guides the nozzle. Not surprised AG item broke so popped a spare GM one on. That failed tonight when I was checking the FPS. Again snapped in the same place! Fitted my last spare, a G&P one, but took a small round file and added a radius to the inside corner where the others had failed. Now have a couple of Unicorn ones on order from JKArmy but will probably never need them ? Anyone else had this? Nozzle springs, nozzle feed pokey bit, hell even the tiny screw through the nozzle holding the internals in….just never seen one of these fail before! UPDATED: The Guns Modify failed at the sharp corner and cracked there (circled red areas) then slowly got worse and worse over next X shots as shown by the rough, almost tree ring lines, area across the middle 80% The Angry Gun one (grey) broke rapidly (as evidenced by lack to brassing / tide marks as on the GM one) and appears to have failed at the inclusion / void highlighted. AG had radiused the corners…but then used shitty plastic Edited July 17 by SSPKali Evidence / pics

Chai. Posted August 18 Posted August 18 Anyone have the angry gun john wick kit for the MWS available?

Looking to get a bit more of a kick out of my MWS and these are pretty cheap. I have used the Angry Gun 110% and 130% - the 110% was great with a heavier bolt and buffer and ensured it went back into battery pretty fast. The 130% just massively increased the gas consumption! Recoil is down to how fast the bolt is travelling and how much it weighs when it hits the end of the buffer tube. The buffer spring is just to push the bolt back after.

Might have a look into the AG spring but I didn’t notice any downsides from the bolt cap yet

A few retails might still have stock of the original TR-1 kits, but believe AngryGun had to stop producing these after the first run. Probably due to unlicensed copyright issues! Since then they (a/k/a AngryGun) re-released a new MWS TR-1 kit and other TTI goods, all of which are officially licensed by EMG. However, these newer kits appear to be based around the retail version of the TTI TR-1, whereas the original AG kits were based on the actual TR-1 movie variant that was seen in John Wick 2. Be careful as their are a few notable differences in both furniture and markings between these two kits, as well as in quality (older kits supposedly had better QA). Best bet would probably be looking for an older version of the kit second hand on a marketplace or retailer somewhere. Edited August 19 by CoCost

Been looking for years and nothing has come up on the second hand market here. I do see I can buy just the receiver but would like the whole kit if possible. I've listed a wanted advert listing on here for it, hopefully someone has one available haha.

It may take 2-3 weeks for shipping but they're very reliable.

Thanks ordered it on 17th and it should be here Wednesday. So tbh I was expecting it to take much longer
Gunboat Diplomat Posted Monday at 09:55 Posted Monday at 09:55 What is the practical temp at which you stop running your MWS? I’m new to GBBRs and have been having a great time throwing money at my Double Eagle MWS clones, but as we’re heading into winter I’m wondering if/when I’ll need to shelve them (or HPA tap them). I know anecdotally they cope well with the cold, but I imagine there is a difference between a quick YouTube demo of an MWS firing on a snowy day vs a day long skirmish in the cold.
Lyndication Posted Monday at 10:03 Posted Monday at 10:03 Use stronger gas and they'll run absolutely fine down to freezing IME. For the DEs in particular, you can do well with a GM nozzle and ditching the DE PMags. If you get some ASG red gas you can run them pretty comfortably down that low. Especially if you rotate mags into pouches or especially if you have internal pockets. This is a solid channel in general, but those two videos give a few tips on running MWS guns down to -10°C. (I would be at home with my duvet and hot chocolate rather than playing in that!) Nick G, HZR13 and Gunboat Diplomat 1 2
Gunboat Diplomat Posted Monday at 10:14 Posted Monday at 10:14 Cheers I’ll give them a watch and no, I will not be entertaining any thoughts of skirmishing in those sorts of temperatures. I’d frankly have doubts even were I in a real conflict quite frankly. I’ve got the later DE stanags and some GM Pmags. My old Bulle chest rig has internal M4 pouches so I tend to put them in there when it’s cold. Although the Pmags are rather brilliant at resisting any attempt to warm them up thanks to the polymer shell.
Lyndication Posted Monday at 10:28 Posted Monday at 10:28 I don't think we even get those temperatures anymore. The guy is Finnish though so he probably goes skinny dipping in ice lakes for fun. Generally metal body mags will do better because they pull heat in better. Having internal mag pouches helps a tonne for that.

GM PMags basically have to be warmed up with the shell pushed out of the way, which isn't particularly practical.
Gunboat Diplomat Posted Monday at 15:43 Posted Monday at 15:43 I’m pretty sure I’ve got some of those resettable hand warmers in and old sock draw so could stuff those in my mag pouches. Galvatron 1
Galvatron Posted yesterday at 13:36 Posted yesterday at 13:36 In addition to keeping mags warm or less cold as well as using higher pressure gas, you can also use lighter weight bolts and carriers. Every gram you can save in the BCG makes cycling easier.
