I_Skiph
So I was looking at a A&K SR25 from patrol base for £250 and I looked at the fps and I said 460fps. I don't know if this is completely accurate but is this overkill for dmrs.
Supporters Rogerborg Posted October 17, 2017 Supporters Share Posted October 17, 2017 It depends which site you're playing at. On the face of it, Land Warrior allow up to 500 fps for any "single shot". They don't seem to distinguish between semi-auto and bolt-action: http://www.airsoftedinburgh.com/rules-and-info/ However, I'd check with them about that, as it seems unusual and unlikely given that you can squeeze multiple rounds a second out of a single shot AEG, so it would make bolt action pretty pointless. The Fort is also unclear about semi-auto DMRs, so you'd need to check: http://www.fortairsoft.co.uk/player-info/site-rules AEGs / Pistols – 360 fps Single action sniper rifles – 500 fps Section 8 has a (correct expressed, IMO) 1.68J limit for DMR, or ~425fps with 0.2g: http://www.s8airsoft.com/rules/ Nomad is also 425fps for semi-auto DMRs: http://nomadscotland.co.uk/fenwickairsoft/rules/ I'd personally expect DMRs to be limited to 425 rather than treated the same as bolt action, but I'm prepared to be surprised. Guyver1
@LWA Semi auto DMR's are indeed max 500fps same as bolt action. This seems to be a change from previous policy, which used to be 470fps for DMR and 500fps Bolt action. Apparently some "EJIT" was spamming rounds everywhere from his semi auto DMR, the rules were changed to "one in three" (one round every 3 seconds) for DMRs and the power lifted slightly. DMR's are marked with a red flash on the barrel at safety briefing so marshals can see who is using one. Not sure when this happened as I missed a few games over the summer. Guyver1
Too the original poster. I would be worried about the fire modes, as it says it is capable of full auto. 460 fps is way to hot for a full auto capable RIF. Your choice what you do, down grade to acceptable limits and keep full auto or disable full auto permanently and leave the power alone. Supporters Rogerborg Posted October 17, 2017 Supporters Share Posted October 17, 2017 Cheers, that makes sense. And good spot on the full auto. Although since Land Warrior are already relying on DMR users to self-limit their fire rate, might they implicitly trust them to leave it on semi auto anyway? Ask the site, is what I'd stress. Regardless of site rules for DMRs if it IS capable of 460FPS and full auto, it's breaking the new legal limits for auto capable airsoft weapons. Either they need to downgrade it to <370FPS OR it needs limiting to semi only.
Supporters jcheeseright Posted October 18, 2017 Supporters Share Posted October 18, 2017 It depends entirely on what weight of BB was used to determine the 460fps really. I once won a GSG522 that claimed 450fps on the box... with a .12g BB. I highly doubt landwarrior have actually chronographed the gun, it's far more likely they've just copied the manufacturer's data sheet.

Or would be if PatrolBase sold it, which they don't as its out of stock.
