victim
So I've been having a look about for decent wee weapons and I've narrowed it down to a choice of a few, if you don't mind throwing your thoughts or ramblings at me I'd like a few more viewpoints on this. I think I'm after a nice accurate weapon, feel and looks don't matter that much (tho I think I have a hidden attraction to m4) to me, I'd just like to be able to hit my mate on the chin at 150ft. How do you guys feel on old v new weapons? Is a gun made in 216 or 17 better than one made in 2014? Better parts, more refined tec ect? So if you have any experience with these weapons, stock and/or modded, I'd love to hear your thoughts. Or if I'm totally missing a beast or two please fill me in! Seems that for my price range most people choose G&G? I don't mind going up to £300 if it's a marked improvement over £200 rifles. Sacarathe
Can you squeeze £350 for a krytac? The G&G CM18 MOD1 is a lovely gun, but with all the price increases I'd say people should just skip G&G unless their £200 budget is absolute.
Mostly Retired Moderators L3wisD Posted May 7, 2017 Mostly Retired Moderators Share Posted May 7, 2017 +1 for the CM18. I had one as a backup but never used it so my friend bought it off me to replace his CM16. It performs really well out of the box, though I did put a Prometheus tightbore barrel and a Prowin w/Prommy purple rubber in it and it's fantastic. Chronos at 330 on the stock spring and has the accuracy and distance for woodland as well as being more than competent for CQB. And every time he turns up to a game it's like he's got a new gun because of how easy it is to cosmetically upgrade. Looks completely different to how it was when it was new, since he changed all the tan parts for black. (Lots of big photos inbound - Sorry!) New out of the box: Threw some basic bits on it: Then my friend had it off me and it's not recognisable!
victim
Wow that is a very sexy weapon, I think it is working towards the top of my list tbh. So £350 for a Krytac? Are they that much better than the g&g ranges to be worth the money? I will do a bit of research on them now bud. Thanks for the info
victim
Ok so I've sort of narrowed down my purchase to Krytac cbr or a scorpion evo. Anyone got either of these or better yet tried both of them? Also I've been thinking about NI/UK laws of 330fps, will this not reduce the full capability of the weapon? Maybe even to the point of the cost not being worth it? Like some of these beasts are designed to be shot at 400fps, right? So I'm paying a premium price then reducing the fps of the weapon (and by proxy the range and accuracy too?) to bring it in line with cheaper beginner models? So why should I spend £300 then reduce it's fps to the same as a £180 gun? Need some stiff advice here lads.
Head Moderator Jedi_Master Posted May 9, 2017 Head Moderator Share Posted May 9, 2017 I have a £500 TM that only shoots at 290 fps. No issues with accuracy or range. You are paying more money for better quality internals, etc.
victim
Ok so the build quality is able to use the power more efficiently and even tho the fps is lowered I'll still get better range and accuracy with more expensive weapons? Sound logical to me.
Eenthuncob
Pretty much hit the nail on the head, You could buy a £100 gun and have it shooting 400+ fps doesn't mean it'll be accurate just illegal in some cases. As mentioned above by more knowledgeable people its about the internals.
