Hangtight
I think it's because of... https://www.paypal.com/uk/webapps/mpp/fundsavailability A mate of mine sold a guitar via PayPal and had a similar issue.
Supporters Sitting Duck Posted March 30, 2017 Supporters Share Posted March 30, 2017 Hang on a sec... he wants you to send 7 x £10 payments - what GIFTED PAYMENTS ??? what comeback does that leave you with a newly registered member ??? I mean yeah it could be legit but a half price deal in 7 installments of £10 gift payments ???

GiantKiwi
It usually only happens to unverified paypal accounts or those with multiple disputes active against them - which always flags to me as something dodgy going on
Dechande
I've never had anyone ask me to do this, and I've certainly never had to ask it of someone. Echoing the above, I'd avoid this, something is surely wrong. In the event of a claim, you'd presumably have to open 7 disputes?! No chance. Dentonboy
Pay a bit more and shop elsewhere. I wouldn't go ahead.
sokar666
i had it when i sold on ebay, the price was £220, i didn't receive the money until the person had recieved the item, not an issue for me as i was genuine. Which could mean he wants the money without ever dispatching item or could be genuine, tbh it's not worth the risk.
