Hello,

I have a CM16 R8-l. Is there anyway of taking the delta ring off? It's the part between the hand guard and the upper receiver. I've looked at tutorials but they all decribe how to take the round one off but the certain one I have is different to everything else. Any ideas?

Have you tried a hammer and flat head screw driver ??

I think with those, you knock it anti clockwise to undo it

Have a look at these:

You need to undo the hex headed bolts to split the outer ring. It's the same as the one in the first video.

Already tried that. They seem to only be there for looks. There's no other screws that can be undone. Do i need some kind of key?

The two screws bottom left and bottom right - are you saying you can't get them out with an allen key?

Yep that's the first thing I tried. They're not screws, they're just fake.

OK. Looking down into the ring, there seems to be a couple of indents that might be registration points for a two pronged spanner (a bit like a tap fitting spanner if you've seen one of those). If you put a screwdriver in at an angle and hit it with a hammer does that rotate the inner black ring?

Right - solution found!

You need either this tool:

Or a pair of needle nosed pliers.

Have a look here for an explanation (around post #16)
