So, this is just going to be a basic loadout which will require a bit of working on to finish, but not much. After some googling, I was actually surprised to see the lack of flecktarn loadouts there are (I may be wrong). I've worn DPM before, webbing and all too, however I really do not like the look of it - flecktarn seems like the best idea for me, and suits my MP5 rather well. I'm in need of a pistol though - a P25 or an M1911 are my main ideas at the moment, if anyone could help by recommending a decent brand (two-tone that is), it would help.

Here's my basic idea for kit and uniform so far:

Shirt - http://www.flecktarn.co.uk/flccs1us.html

Trousers - http://www.flecktarn.co.uk/flcct1us.html

Helmet (and cover) - http://www.flecktarn.co.uk/flphc1ua.html

Assault Vest - http://www.flecktarn.co.uk/fltav4nx.html

Obviously there's a lot missing, but as a first loadout, I feel that it is all I'll really need. I already have a few extra high-cap mags, and a red/green dot. If there's any key things you guys think I need to add, please speak up. I need all the help I can get!

Looks good so far. The best M1911 is a TM, although I'd wait until you have some sort of registration like UKARA or a site membership before purchasing one so you don't have to have it 2toned. Despite this I wouldn't get a pistol just yet, I'd actually concentrate on saving for mags/batteries (and swap out to MP5 midcaps, MP5 hi caps are a bastard to use :) ).

Just a heads up, that 'helmet and cover' you linked is just a flecktarn helmet cover, knockoff helmets cost around £30-£40.

would disagree about the best 1911 being tm. fact that you need to buy separate metal slide / frame, and just seen to many ones malfunction. after all they are designed to be used with dustergas!! much better of with KWA imo. I do agree to wait to get a sidearm thou. most people never need them and have to make a point of using them if they are ever to be used. better getting a backup AEG first (sucks when something goes wrong and you cant play)

and I'd say add a good pair of boots and kneepads to the list. safety first!

I already have a nice pair of Falkland's Royal Marine Assault Boots, and I did find a helmet on the flecktarn site for around £25: just listed the cover to show what it'd look like. I don't really have that much money available for a backup AEG at this point, although the spare battery sounds like a good idea. The one I have now is a bitch to recharge.

About the midcaps, does anybody know of a store in the West Midlands area which sells them? I saw a pack of 6 magazines at JD Airsoft, however I was unsure if they would work with my AEG. Would every manufacturer of mags work with an Umarex AEG?

I'll have a look around for some kneepads too - thanks for the tip!

Bulle UK, Condor do some nice chest rigs, a real South African Assault Vest (Called an M83, speak to Nickona about getting one as he is king of South African kit) and if you can afford it with pouches any Tactical Tailor rig. I think the full sized MAV is under £50

Something like this? http://www.flecktarn.co.uk/photos/sdtmb6nx500a.jpg

EDIT: I looked at the M83 and it doesn't really appeal to me. Some of the Condor gear looks quite good though.

I have one of those, they're great :) only problem is Flecktarn.co.uk have realised how popular they are and raised the price from £25 to almost £40, which is fair enough; however it's a bit of kit I've always recommended for value for money, and now you can get an okay-ish plate carrier for that price.

Try tactical-kit.co.uk for one, they're about £30. Very good site, I've used them for my Tactical Tailor stuff.

So, I'm going with two_zero's advice about A backup AEG (which I can eventually use with a Royal Marine / UKSF / British Army loadout when I make my mind up. I'm thinking of an M4 - anyone have an idea what CAA is like as a brand?

https://jdairsoft.net/assault/0/asg-caa-tactical-m4-carbine-fde is the exact gun in question.

You can get a G&G Top Tech Gen 3 for cheaper than that CAA, and they're a trusted brand. I've browsed guns and been a regular skirmisher for almost 2 years now and I've never heard of CAA.

If the stock, handguard and pistol grip are the attraction, I guarantee you that you can get them and a G&G Intermediate or Combat Machine M4 for cheaper than £299- which is pretty ridiculous for an M4 that isn't a G&P or TM.

+ the only AR-15 pattern weapon any UK force use is the LMT LM308MWS (British Army designation L129A1), and it's 7.62mm- plus you'd be looking at a fair price to get an SR-25 AEG looking anything like the L129A1 and performing like a DMR.

The paint isn't really a problem. It'll have to be twotoned, and then painted again at a later date. Thanks for the heads up, anyway. I'll look into G&G - maybe I'll get an L85 / SA80 from there instead :)
