Bottledtorment
I have been wanting to make both of these threads for a while but haven't had time around things to make one so I thought they would seem a nice little pair together. The first point I wish to raise is ; has anyone got D.I.Y kit be it Clothing or other pieces of equipment I.E) Rigs or even Mag pouches and if so did you make them yourselves or did you find the patterns online . (I'm a cheapo and my grandma is a really good seamstress .) Also has anyone seen or done any 'ghetto' airsoft mods I.E) Duct tape fixes or such or ramshackle fixes? the-sarge84
Duck tape is a must. I made a ghetto mod for my ak74usd by just putting two bits of small pipe between two mags and duck taping them together to get a double mag like a somali pirate I lost end plate for my SCAR battery compartment for a while, and you guessed it, duck tape saved the day. Not a fan of rigging components on the firing side of things though.

Supporters jcheeseright Posted August 7, 2013 Supporters Share Posted August 7, 2013 I've seen some fairly incredible frankenguns made out of chinasoft cheapos and duct tape... always makes me chuckle seeing someone getting a full toolkit out mid game to fix their gun! AirsoftTed
I've seen guys make magpuls out of duct tape and eletrical tape lol.
Hubert
Dave and The_Leprechaun both used to make heavy use of ducktape/electrical tape when the three of us were first starting out in airsoft. I seem to recall that most of Lep's kit was covered in the stuff. Both had some pretty impressive DIY magpuls made of the stuff too. I know a guy who had a BAR-10/VSR sniper, but lost a few structurally integral parts (outer barrel, a few screws). His solution was to nick some drain-pipe, the wall mount for garden hose and some metal cable-ties. The best way to describe the result... imagine a piece of drainpipe from a gutter, with a luminous green bolt-action stock sticking out the rear. It looked hilarious and was impossible to aim. Supporters jcheeseright Posted August 7, 2013 Supporters Share Posted August 7, 2013 the whole design of magpuls started with soldiers using duct tape and paracord loops on the bottom of magazines to make them easier to pull out of pouches quickly... using DIY ones is totally legit! I've seen guys make magpuls out of duct tape and eletrical tape lol.
AirsoftTed
I can believe that. Fair play on Magpul, they saw what was wanted and made it!
Mike636
If you ever watch Tears Of the Sun and why wouldn't you , keep an eye out as Willis is rocking the homemade magpuls!
AirsoftTed
I may actually have to use them myself... Can't get my ALICE ammo pouches shut with actual Magpuls attached. I never noticed them when I watched it Mike!
Mike636
I didn't until the last time I watched it, a bit of sniper tape can go a long way!
