TacMaster
If you need to have it 2 toned, there's no point in getting something over £180. Sure, you'd have a nice gun, but it'd be in a nasty VCRA compliant colour. Tbh I'd stick with your previous choice and get some combat equipment, a good pair of boots or some bits for the gun (like extra mags) with the remainder of the budget. But i guess i'll stick with GR26, Mabull tighbore and Beta project Pmags box set which all add up to around £230. Which my mum is fine with but i'll need to save up a bit more. TacMaster
@Mack his parent is covering the gun costs, I'm assuming he'll be buying the TBB and the P-mags himself. They don't have an age restriction

Supporters Richard65 Posted June 21, 2013 Supporters Share Posted June 21, 2013 The parents could always buy a gun that has been two-toned and providing the son is a regular skirmisher at a recognised site then the law does not prevent him from removing the paint to make it back to a RIF (or buy replacement parts for the painted ones). Supporters Ian_Gere Posted June 22, 2013 Supporters Share Posted June 22, 2013 I'm not sure that the law would recognise any separation in the ownership of money combined in a single purchase by a parent and a child for whom they are the legal guardian. Moose87, on 21 Jun 2013 - 18:07, said: or until you get your license! no such thing oh ok lets get picky, or until you turn 18 and you are able to register with the UKARA so you are able to purchase a RIF. everybody knows what you are talking about when your refer to a license or a defence so please dont go around thinking your clever and correcting people. Supporters Ian_Gere Posted June 22, 2013 Supporters Share Posted June 22, 2013 @Moose: I think Mack has a point, although it could have been expressed in a friendlier way. "Licence" sounds like there is a legally appointed body to whom we must apply for permission to own a RIF. Using the terminology 'normalises' the idea and once the idea is normalised, the reality can easily follow. Resist 'control-creep'; know the letter of the law and use the correct terminology, I say. Mack
you dont register with ukara, they are a retailers association, you get a site membership who give you a number which they put onto a database. UKARA membership itself is not a legal requirement and a number of retailers will be happy to sell you RIFs after a telephone check to ensure that you are on a site's membership database. The more people keep perpetuating this MYTH about a licence the more newcomers pick up on it and think they need one to buy which is not true. No ones trying to be clever, but people do need correcting when they are wrong. edit: as Ian has pointed out, I wasnt trying to be harsh and could have put it better so appologise if it came accross that way. Moose87
im not perpetuating any myth, its just terminology. ok well if you werent being harsh then we are all cool, you prob hate people on the internet to who go round correcting the slightest things but i get where you guys are coming from. i know that its not a legal requirement as they arent a government body, they are just trying to cover themselves against the VCA. theres more than enough threads on the forum explaining what it all is and means so yer fair points all round. what term would you chaps suggest then, i have only ever seen license or defence. Supporters Ian_Gere Posted June 22, 2013 Supporters Share Posted June 22, 2013 I dunno why. "Licence" and "Defence" have the same number of syllables and "Get a" will do in both cases; it's just the meaning which is very different.

AK47frizzle
had a little chat with Ed and some of my friends and i've kinda moved towards the TM FAMAS. Not for sure but i'm more going towards it than the G&G. Although it's quite old, it seems like it's still a great gun. http://www.fire-support.co.uk/product/marui-famas-f1-airsoft-gun-aeg
Unrustle_Thine_Jimmies
It's still a good gun, especially since it's 20 years old, but my main problem with it is hard to find spare parts. TM still produce the Famas and spare parts but in limited quantities and there is no aftermarket support for it. It's also creaky, akward to hold and mags are expensive. I'd stay with the G&G G26,personally.
