OK CHAPS

If anyone is like me and has spells of being fed up with mw3 or battlefield 3 and fancys tryin something new. MY OPINION your gonna struggle. I bought ghost recon a couple of days ago and my first impressions were great. The concept of the game and gameplay itself is great. Played the first few levels on career mode first to get a feel for it and all was well, the tech in the game is AWSOME as well as the gadgets you get to use to complete the missions are cool as hell like the mini drone u carry constantly tagging up to 4 enemy soldiers at a time so you can simultaneously take out the baddies. Also you think tactically a lot more which is good, I found it a lot more enjoyable than just storming round emptying clips lol. But soon the cracks show.

Career mode problems:

I found after a few levels I got to a certain point in the game mainly after a long gun battle I came to breech a door with my 3 team mates which u always have, as I waited for my team mates to stack up on the door to breach my teammate got stuck in a glitch and I had to keep returning to my last checkpoint to try and divert him MASSIVE PAIN IN THE ASS. I ended up starting the level completely.

This happened at some point on every level after. Like one time my team mate got stuck in a wall lol

Online problems:

I don't think the enemy are as identifiable as they could be on mw3 u no who ur shooting at. I found the graphics lack a little which is annoying but nit picking a little here. Also I got to a point where I proper unloaded on this guy and he shot back with vertually 3-5 bullets and killed me. This happened a lot really don't no why. U may find u get battered compared to its rival games unless in crap I don't no lol.

Anyway the game has AWSOME points like ur gear, u can completely customise ur weapons even down to trigger types this part is very unique, you can add loads of extras, many more attachments to each weapon than other games, this is GOOD but time consuming wen u start off. The button configuration is relatively silmilar to rivals so it does have good points.

By all means try the game it is really good but for me I'm already too frustrated with it. But hey this is my opinion u may love it, I really hoped I could burn off some hours of boredom but looks like I'll stick to the usual.

THANKS FOR READIN. AS BEFORE ALL MY OPINION U MAY LOVE IT

CHEERS

ASH.

I picked this up the other day. I was hesitant about it, I felt that it was basically built off the back of all the cheats and hacks you can't use in other games, like how you can see through walls and practically turn invisible and all that stuff.

But! Having bought it, oh my god it's good. I have a few annoying niggles with certain weapons and stuff, but I always do so that hardly counts lol.

I LOVE the weapon edit thing so so much. It makes the game for me, the game would seem significantly worse if it weren't for it.

I wish I had some mates who had it to play co-op with though, I'm just playing the career through at the moment.

Not tried any of the multiplayer modes yet, but I did the firefight thing on split screen and I didn't like that you can't pick your own kit... What's with that? It sucks.

Not all that bothered about the multiplayer at all tbh, I might never bother with it. Ghost Recon has always been about the campaign.

On top of getting this, I also picked GRAW2 up, or at least I thought I did <_<

I bought the "Legacy" edition, which says on the box that the main game is included... But for some reason it isn't. I downloaded all the GRAW2 DLC off the disc, but I don't have the game to play any of it, because it's not on the effing disc... <_< FML.

Im loving GR:FS at the moment, play it every night with my buds!

Few niggles:

Cover isnt perfect. Sometimes the enemy will be at such an angel you cant shoot them, or it just be a funny bit of cover and as you try to fire you cant, or move, or fall out of cover completely.. all annoying, but forgivable in the grand scheme of things!

Coding/ lag online is a problem. Again, most of the time its fine, people go down in a few rounds, but watching sniper kill cams is ridiculous - you will be a good 7 inches away form the crosshairs and get killed. But hey. Same applies for melee take downs.

Incendiary ammo, causes you to die even after you have killed the enemy. Annoying, but just a cheap nooby tactic, like the diving to the floor or attempted quick scoping. Just deal with it, and enjoy the finer parts of the game...

The weapon customization is good, but there could be more weapons, and there could be some character customization thrown in there too!

That aside i love working as a team, setting up kill zones with my support gunner, sending in the engineer to hack objectives whilst we cover. Our little squad becomes the main element of the team. Much like previous GR, it reminds me of airsofting a fair bit!

Playing by yourself is okay as well, you can play how you want, but it lends itself to having a headset and a few mates who know how to cover and arent just after kills.

If you own either of the Army of Two games, it feels quite similar to them in play style and graphics.

The original (and the best) ghost recon this is not, but the games market isnt that way inclined anymore. I would say its better than most of the call of duties, and Gears of War, but is on par with MW2 and BF3/BF:BC. Still sits behind my firm favorite, Rainbow 6: Vegas 2 but has similar elements.

I really like the game too but it is annoying because it seems to take loads of shots to kill somebody and the recoil is extremely high on all my guns yet when I see the killcams the sams weapon has virtually none.

And I don't really understand why you get only 75 points for a kill whereas you get 150 points for being behind cover when you kill somebody.

Point system is pretty weird

I also have a game-breaking glitch thing on Campaign because I got to the mission after Firefly Rain and then decided to go back and play the first mission again (Nimble Guardian) because I wanted to complete all the challenges (to unlock new weapon & attachments) but then I can only go up to Firefly Rain. It's the last mission I can do and no matter how many times I complete it again I get sent back to Mission One.

So I have Campaign on one account and multiplayer on the other and it means I can't complete the campaign and unlock the grenade launchers.

Red River's been out for WAAAAAAYYYYYYY longer than GRFS.

Also JP, are you talking about guns being bad to use on campaign, or online?

'Cos to reduce recoil you need to have the gas settings on "under gassed" and choose the appropriate front grip, the AFG works best IIRC, that or the grip-pod if you've unlocked it, then you'll have almost no recoil. Using semi instead of auto helps too.

As for the campaign glitch, it's probably because you're choosing the mission from the mission select thing, instead of choosing "continue campaign".

Bit late I know, but totally agree with Ed, the weapons customization "gunsmith" thing, completely makes the game, although I get pissed off when I have my weapon set up and accidentally tap the D-pad and reset everything

Has anyone played this using Xbox Kinect? 'Cos I heard that it becomes a rail shooter like Time Crysis. How shit is that?!
