xiJamesss
is it worth me buying goggles and a half face, or should i just get a full face? im not sure what to get, if its worth the half and half because a lot of skirmish sites wont allow that to an under 16 right? i use a sniper so its hard to see with the full face, also, our main site (not that i played with the team yet) is AWA herts, will they allow it? i heard they are quite lenient? leothelion
whatever you use at some point your going to get shot in the face.. If im inside i use a full face cause mines dark and helps me camo into the back ground. If playing outside then i use google/glasses and a metal nose and mouth protector all of which are not expensive. My advice is always cover your face - cause it hurts like sh*t getting shot on the lips..
xiJamesss
Cheers, but is it illeagal for me to not use a full face? im under
Tariq
Not "illegal" but i doubt any site will let you wear only eye protection due to insurance.
lemon191
ring the site and ask them they are the only ones who can tell you for sure.
Supporters Ian_Gere Posted May 16, 2012 Supporters Share Posted May 16, 2012 I'm 99% certain that they mean that your whole face has to be covered, not that it has to be covered by a full face mask, but yeah, phone 'em. It's right that you'll get hit sooner or later anyway - I've only been into airsoft a few months and I got hit in the mouth through a tiny hole I've made in a Viper Comforter lower face mask. It's literally just wide enough for a roll-up to fit through, but I ended up with a BB in my mouth! Another time I was playing in mesh goggles & half-face mask plus a MK6 kevlar helmet - I got drilled in the forehead through a tiny gap between the goggles and helmet rim! I think you've got more flexibility in getting a good fit with separate goggles and half-face, but having said that I've just bought a Killer hard plastic full face with mesh eye holes which fits really well, its just that I won't be able to wear my helmet with it. Haven't skirmished it yet though so I dunno what if any other problems it may present...

Cartman03
Out of preference if prefer the full face masks, they save my teeth alot better . Ive had round bounce off my gun into my face and it hurts like hell.. but googles you see down to the sight a hell of alot better. It reallt depends how much you like your teeth
craig
you can get a mesh mask that just covers you mouth and nose that work pretty well
Supporters Ian_Gere Posted May 18, 2012 Supporters Share Posted May 18, 2012 you can get a mesh mask that just covers you mouth and nose that work pretty well Yeah, I sometimes use 1 that somebody gave me for a brew! He couldn't get on with it and neither could I until I added a bunch of foam padding inside sculpted to the shape of my nose and cheeks. I've now also got a fag-hole through the mesh in front of my lips, which is tempting fate because a BB would fit through it, but so far I've been lucky! I reckon that 1/2 face mesh and my big mesh goggles gives the best protection and comfort combined, but I'll tell you after this weekend whether my Killer mask is any good...
