Supporters M_P Posted April 25, 2012 Supporters Share Posted April 25, 2012 Saw this over on anothere forum, thought id repost. Here for a few people who I think will be interested (yes that's you Ed) Sent KJW an email regarding various stuff and asked if they were developing any more of their models as CO2 versions. Apparantly they are developing the KP-01 (226) and KP-02 (229) as CO2 versions, which is nice I love having CO2 alternatives avaliable. Just a short FYI, got no dates or antyhing but it is in the works at least. Also as a side note they do have CO2 magazines avaliable for the KC-02 but retailers appear to not stock them, so if you want them e-mail your favorite retailers and ask them to stock them. I also asked regarding the finish of their pistols and from what I understand all new KJW produced pistols have the new matte black finish that the KP-05 (Hi Capa) and KP-07 (MEU) use. So that is nice as well Over and out.

Hubert
Whilst on the one hand this is kind of annoying - having bought a fairly stupid ammount of '29 magazines (and a second '29) - having read reviews of KJW's CO2 magazines currently available (and the rest of the topic on Arnies where this is from), I'm not that bothered. From what I've read, it sounds like their CO2 magazines are fairly hit and miss (most of them being miss). That said, who knows. Maybe they'll do a re-design which isn't as useless. Supporters Airsoft-Ed Posted May 10, 2012 Supporters Share Posted May 10, 2012 How can a CO2 magazine be bad? Surely mag leaks are the only issue that can ever be had with any kind of gas magazine, but with CO2 you create the seal yourself by screwing the capsule in harder. Hubert
From what I've read the CO2 seals on their 1911 series (or whatever it's actually called, they look like 1911s to me), the seals were poorly designed, which resulted in pretty bad leaks, and difficult to replace. BUT - there is talk elsewhere that KJW have recently started re-designing the magazine seals, so hopefully they'll work better.
Saltyyy
A slightly off topic question here, but what's the best brand 226 on the market at the moment?
Supporters Airsoft-Ed Posted May 24, 2012 Supporters Share Posted May 24, 2012 I had a KJW one and absolutely loved it, but the magazines are terrible. I think it's compatible with TM though, so if I were you and bought it, I'd get some TM mags. Obviously there's also the TM Sig, but it's plastic, which writes it off in my opinion, plastic pistols feel like sh*t imo. KWA make a very good metal one, but mags are hard to find and KSC make possibly the most realistic full metal version, with full licensed markings, but it's hard to find without importing. The KJW is the best in my opinion, it's a good price, solid performer minus the mags, huge upgrade potential because it's a TM copy, very easy to find replacement parts if anything breaks (though I had mine 3 years and nothing broke), feels amazing, you can get a licensed version so you can have the trades etc etc. They'll all very good to be honest, just depends on your budget and whether or not you hate plastic. KJW is the best mix of realism, price and performance though, imo.
Supporters TheFull9 Posted May 25, 2012 Supporters Share Posted May 25, 2012 What do you want it for, pure shooting performance or the feel/recoil? I've just ordered the TM P226E2 because my older version TM served me very well indeed whereas the only KSC GBB I've ever bought is a total lemon that just vents mags and shoots f*****g awfully. Everyone has different experiences though.
