Thanks Chock. I had tried all ways. Ifinally did it myself and now it's fettled.

So, I eventually took the plunge and invested in a CM RK47. Looks ok so far all the bits are there. BUT I cannot for the life of me get the damned battery hatch off. It is proper stiff. To the point where I can hardly get it to move. Any RK owners have any advice? My gun is the fake wood version with removable (??hopefully! !) Butt plate. cheers.

I have one of these. I won mine in a comp in airsoft action magazine. Out of interest I have been checking stores for their sales, but they all seemed out of stock till just recently, so I wondered if it had a recent release date. I couldn't get mags until last week either. It's a cracking bit of kit, too. Out the box, it was tearing holes in corrugated cardboard at 20 yards. I just downspringed it, which took literally 2 minutes. You could use it in a woodland game, switch the spring and go cqb within minutes.

My local shop's got em in at £105. Seemed pretty good to me. Will standard AK mags fit?

Of course, I can see that this is a little more difficult with airsoft due to the fact we don't often go to a range. Use your imagination, you'll think of something.

BTW if you're very new, use Ian's guide to noobism on here, in the "newbie" section I think. (I'm not good with linking stuff) it is invaluable to a new player.

An old trick from air rifle/pistol shooting is you take an empty bag or case out of the house, saying you're going to the range (of course secreting the original contents in the house where t'other half cannot find it) Hot foot it to your favourite gun shop. Put your new purchase in the bag, whereupon you can get it back in the house right under your loved one's nose. As long as you can resist looking at said new shiny gun right away, it's all gravy. 'Course then you gotta keep it out of the way at least for a while before you can use the old "Oh that I've had it ages....." routine. (I may be lucky here because the current Mrs Skeeter is not over fussed about entering the spare room I use). This has the added bonus that, while you are "at the range" you have quite a decent block of time to spend in the shop drooling at your next piece of shiny loveliness.

Welcome to the forum, Where in Donny are you? I'm in Bentley. As ed says, Brit Tac do indeed do a fortnightly game at the Painball fields. Its my regular (well......only! So far.......) site. Definitely agree with this. Ordered some dpm stuff and boots Friday morning. It arrived following Tuesday. Good gear too.

You might need to invest in a charger that will cycle the batts. Or set some sort of target up and shoot bbs at it till the batts run down.

Strikeforce supplies (strikeforce1972 on ebay) have osprey tac vests for £12. Not chest rig or plate carrier I know and they're desert camo. BUT it may be worth a look. Decent pockets in em for mags and you can add pouches whenever. I think its strikeforcesupplies.co.uk and they have the ebay thing as above. I had one t'other week. Service was good I got it within a couple of days.

Thanks again fellas. If I'm honest dedsec, I quite like the plain vanilla look of some weapons so the lack of rails isnt such an issue. Bright candle, thats a big help. I have a CM 16 carbine too that hasn't done that much shooting yet, but it chrono'd at 338 ish. I'll be happy at those figures out he box for now, I think.

Thanks, yawns, it is a great help. Some of the retailers I looked at haven't got the fps posted but, since I posted, I found a few that did and it seemed to quote around 328. And I looked at g&g site itself. They quote the irish fps ( I assume thats close to the uk one) at 328. Should be ok. I fink. ......but now I've seen an ics mp5 sportline ......or an asg m14 .......or a cm 16 mod0 ........or .........or NO stop it! I want an AK .........or do I?

Can anyone tell me what the CM RK47 fps is out the box. I am looking at buying one, but my site limit is 350. I was wondering if a stock gun would need downspringing. Some figures I have seen suggest it would but I have also seen stuff that puts the fps at around 325. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Cheers.

Like Josh95 I also fly R/C. I fly fixed wing but I know cheaper helicopter stuff is available. Have a look at the hubsan s4. There are others with cameras. I don't know what the quality will be like but, if you are just wanting to record then something of this nature may be ok. The bmfa insurance should be ok to cover you, unless Josh95 knows otherwise? I know when our club has been asked to give displays in front of the public, it has been the 3rd party liability that has stopped it. However, the air soft field shouldn't be classed as a public place. The snag then is to find a pilot. I am no expert but I believe that quadricopters are fairly stable I assume that something like the hubsan may be limited as to its performance. As I always say, I will stand corrected by those more experienced or knowledgeable.
