  1. Anyone know what the STAR L86 gearbox is like? Mine of oh so many years has finally failed, but I am yet to open it. I was thinking of HPQing it, but I do not know if it is a standard v2 gearbox, or how different it is.

if you're hpa'ing it then you only really need it to have a standard sized cylinder.

the likes of the polarstar/wolverine drop-in systems can be wired to existing trigger contacts and have a variety of nozzle lengths available (you can always get a longer one and turn it down if needs be).

you can also get an offset nozzle if needed.

Great. Yea that answers all of my questions. Knowing it’s Ares means I can get diagrams easily, as well as knowing it’s a standard cylinder.
