  1. What Mr B said, for 500 pounds you can get a very good gun, you can get a very good one for even less. I started off with a budget of 450 euro's so around 370 pounds, and got everything I needed (oke it is a budget rifle I admit ^^"), so gear does not have to be expensive. About the luggage, I go by public transport so I use a carrying bag for my gun, that isn't too obvious, if I had a car, I would have gotten a gun case, since when you arrive at the site you just drop your stuff somewhere I think you should follow mr B's advice, around 500 pounds on the gun (and maybe attachments) and 400 left for the gear. Try to look around what you want, and make an excel sheet. You can get some good stuff in my opinion for that money.
  2. Well first make up your budget, how much do you want to spend? What you could do (what I did) is make up a list of essentials and extra's prioritized and then make an excel form with the costs behind it: Essentials: Protection Glasses Rifle Gun bag or case (you need to take your gun with you through public) Magazines (High, mid or low? when choosing mid or low also a speedloader but they are really cheap, and the choice of which one will determine how many, I take 5 mid caps with me for example) Extra's: Boots (don't underestimate them, they are important!) Chest rig (I bought a OPS vest new for 25 euro's including bags) Appropriate clothing (can be really cheap from a dumpstore (20 euro's for jacket and pants?) face protection (I use a shemagh, works well in combination with a helmet to keep it in place!) Gloves Helmet or cap Sidearm Hope this helped a bit
  3. When you google particular airsoft gear, you usually get mostly results with American stores. This is not so useful with postage costs and the Duane and tax. You can google for a particular country, but that takes allot of time. To solve this problem someone on my Dutch forum board created a tool, that let you search within Europe only, or on country selection. http://airsoftfind.com I thought I'd share this tool with you, since I use it allot to to find my gear
  4. I think I'll follow up your brothers advice and send it myself by post since I'm planning to be traveling by plane since the ticket will only cost me 15 euro, so I guess approx 12 pounds? (thanks Ryan Air!) Just need to find out how much luggage I am allowed to take with me. So I'll first get some information about this whole matter at the air company (find out how much pain it will be) and if I can't even take some decent luggage with me I'll simply go by ferry
  5. It's a decent brand that should deliver you some quality Good first gun! What Monty said, those are the options to increase your FPS Spring will make the biggest change. And I gotta say, I have never seen someone with a Firehawk, and it looks good! It's a unique one to me
  6. Oke you made it very clear Thanks for all the information everyone again! I'm going to gather some "evidence" throughout the few months to prove that I'm bringing my weapon over for the purpose of airsofting. After that I can just store it at my home in the UK from what I understood. Looking forward to seeing you on the skirm sites!
  7. Thanks for all your input, I was mostly concerned about the UK law, but as soon I can get my gun in the UK legally, I can just keep it at my home in the UK so that's great
  8. Oke that great to know, thanks for your help guys! Now I can at least bring it in and keep it without breaking the law One last question, do I have to make clear in advance I'm bringing one into the country (I assume so) and where should I do that?

    Goat Simulator

This is gonna be game of the year for sure! Must unlock tall goat....
  10. Oke sorry I didn't understand that part. This will not give me any legal issues in the UK for keeping my gun at home in the UK? Is it only the purchase part that gives problems? Thanks for your input btw
  11. Yeah but the difference is, I'm going to live in the UK for 6 months for study, so it's not just one game
  12. Heya all I wish to start airsofting here when I come to the UK for 6 months for studies, but I can't find a clear answer if I need to have a UKARA license to bring my own gun over (not 2 toned). I assume that when players from other countries come to the UK for a skirm they don't need to have a UKARA license? Will I need to buy a two tone gun or is it possible to bring my own gun with me for that half year? I am keeping my gun at my place in the UK then, and am officially living in the UK for that time so that is a major difference between players who are just here for a skirm. I hope someone can help me a bit on this matter! Thanks in advance!
