Selector plate spring replaced, fire selector working better, still only one shot in full auto but it doesn't have anywhere near as much resistance. The only thing I can think of is that the cut off lever isn't disengaging. I really don't want to have to buy a new gearbox or gun as this thing repeatedly out performs other peoples stock CM16's. I don't know what the guys before me did to this, all I did was cut down the barrel and add a lipo.

Well I think she's ex rental. The batteries were numbered and so was the gun, but she's performed better than I'd expected of a CM16. 350fps on the dot, surprising range and accuracy with my 7.4 lipo. I'll take the gearbox out next time I'm with the gun and see if just re-aligning the selector plat fixes the issue. If so I think i'll have to pick up a new set of selector plate springs.

If threadromancy is against forum rules I apologise, I didn't find anything about it. Back on topic, I managed to get my buffer tube off and have a look at the selector plate.....and the spring fell out, and is lost for all time. Luckily my friend had a very similar one and once put back together I had no problems pulling the trigger all the way in full auto, but could not test fire due to a wiring problem. I fixed the wiring problem but as I had to re-open the gun something has once again gone wrong. Could someone explain exactly how the selector plate and cut-off works? When I had the gearbox out, even with the original spring it seemed that the spring would not completely push the plate back to full auto if I pushed it to safe. Is this the problem? And if so does anyone know where I could get a replacement spring for my selector plate?

well I ended up getting one of ebay for less than £30, then another £10 on a pistol holster. Turns out I don't need the pouches etc as my brother has got me a load. And from my experience with a friends osprey I really like them. I wanted to go for the heavy, well armoured british look.

So looking online I've found not one, ut TWO sets of full fighting order Osprey MkIV vests, one that apparently includes random pouches for less than the one that doesn't. Yeah it's completely ruined. I've tried at least 6 different cross heads and they've all either spun or jumped out. Guess I'm gonna have to get a new stock tube now then? This £90 gun is starting to look a lot more expensive, and that's before I start putting the upgrades I want into her!

The gun has been fine since I got it, only £90. Just recently this happened. I now have two more problems. While trying to take the stock tube off I caught the wiring and now need to re-solder my deans connector back on (simple, I can do that), and I've also found that the screw that hole the stock tube on has been completely rounded off. I can't undo it. Does anyone know of any way to take the gearbox out with taking the stock tube off?

This is an ex hire gun I got online, and it doesn't move back far enough in auto to fire....most of the time. When it does it'll only fire one shot :/

so this problem started during my first ever time airsofting....wasn't helpful. She fires okay in semi, occasionally I'll pull the trigger and she'll stick a little but that I don't mind too much and I guess is linked to my main problem. I have no full auto. U pull the trigger and I don't even get any life from the battery. If anyone can give me any advice on this, what it could be, how to find out ec that'd be really helpful.

Well I'm getting one of the really short clones with the lump on the front for the battery, does anyone know if the kill flash will fit that one?

I'm currently the winning bidder on an Eotech replica for less than £10, and even if I don't win I'm buying one, and was wondering, do I need a flash kill or will I be alright with a cheap slot in clear lens protector? I just don't want my holo sight to shatter on my first skirmish, or ever really.

IT WORKED! With a little bit of filing and some other materials the metal outer barrel front from an old broken L85A1 springer fitted. I think this looks much better than the standard iron sights and now leaves me plenty of scope for optics etc. If you look carefully you can see the small mound of modeling/plumbers milliput I had to use to help secure the barrel.

Found my dads old broken L85A1 springer and figured I'd take a look, does anyone think this MIGHT fit on the G&G CM16 Raider L where the front end of the outer barrel goes? I'm not overly worried if its not a perfect fit, it would just mean that for now I have no front sight in my way and wont need to buy another out barrel yet. My gun isn't with me atm or I wouldn't have asked you guys first!

No problem, all I need to do if find a front end online that'll fit a CM16 Raider. Easier said than done!

The front sight on mine seems pretty solid. The two pins I think you're talking about have even been welded perfectly, or were never pins in the first place.

Also, completely forgot to mention that it IS rear wired.

This is what I have. It confuses me somewhat as the only cm16 to come with the RIS rails don't have a full top sight. The bit I'm looking to replace is from the end of the ris rails to the end of the flash hider. I've had it off before and was hoping I could find one somewhere that doesn't have the front sight.

So I got a CM16 a few months back and have been wanting to make a few changes. I have things in mind and need to know if the front end of the outer barrel, the bit with that horrible front sight, is interchangeable with the front end of other M4's. I've already figured out how it comes apart while practicing maintenance and trying to stop bits jiggling around, but I haven't got a clue if the front ends of the other combat machines, most notably the ones WITHOUT the front sight, are attached in the same way. If anyone could tell me which ones are, if any, that'd be great as payday is coming up and I really want to start making my gun look more the way I want it to.

Also the mags only stay in if I give them a slap, so I'm guessing I need to find some better ones, probably proper g&g hi caps

There was velcro in the mag well when I got it

So I bought a second hand cm16 the other day, and she doesn't seem to feed right. The first few rounds won't fire, and when I take the mag out about 5 bbs will fall out the mag well. Is this a common problem? I'm thinking it might berthed mag as the other pmag I got didn't have this problem, only the last two or three wouldn't feed.

So I have bought a CM16 with two "P mags", whatever they are. I have no idea what makes these different from normal mags other than the raised bits. I also have no idea what capacity these are or who makes them. They have the Magpul logo, but I suppose could just be licensed as Magpul do make RS weapon parts. I can't see any hatch to pour in BB's, and also have no idea what the little button on the bottom does, as the bottom doesn't seem to move at all when it's pressed in. Any help at all would be great here as I don't know WHAT I have.

g&g CM16 is about £120 on zeroone. AND they have a free two tone service. Great intro gun, and is apparently up to mid level (Only just got mine, love it though). *EDIT* Beat me to the punch.
