If you could change the joule limit, would you?
Loki7491 replied to Gunboat Diplomat's topic in General Discussion
I'd only be interested in changing power limits to facilitate RIFs in the manner I think they shoukd be used (how very arrogant of me 😁) Before the limit was based in law, and sites were responsible for their own rules, we had 3 limits, based of FPS with a 0.2g BB as that's all our chronos were capable of recording back then. 350fp was for your full auto rifles, pistols, etc. Common rules throughout the land, no minimum engagement. 450 fps was for semi auto DMRs and support weapons. A G&G Firehawk with a box mag did not count as a support weapon, and an MP5 tuned to within an inch of its life was not a DMR. We are talking long barreled rifles, preferably 7.62 or similar, but 5.56 SPR were allowed as was the KJW KC02. Support weapons had to be fired from a mounted position (bi-pod, window sill, car bonnet, etc) and you were heavily encouraged to use 3 or more weights of ammo randomly mixed in, to give a beating zone, rather than a laser-like stream of plastic. 30m minimum engagement. 550fps for bolt actions with a 30m minimum engagement. Anybody with a MED also had to prove they could judge distance with a sense of accuracy. Our current limits are fine for Sunday skirmish type games. Safety must always be of paramount importance, but for mil-sim type games where tactics, ammo limits and missions are the gameplay, then I think having the flexibility of weapon types makes for a more immersive game. -

I know there are other threads, but I fear replying to those will not have the impact or visability to those who can make the changes. The classified section has been absolutely destroyed over the past few weeks and months of changes. I know it is all done in the interest of improvement but the unintended consequences are extremely frustrating. 1. Renewing adverts is currently impossible. Both for the For Sale and Wanted categories. 2. I personally really like the previous ribbons of new, expiring soon and random adverts. With a good number in each category to scroll through. 3. Showing completed adverts without knowing they are completed steals my joy from me. The heartache is real. Can we remove completed ads from the ribbons? Or at least show them as completed? Many years ago I was "the guy" behind 2 forums. I know they are a pain in the backside and for anybody doing the background work, I appreciate your own pain and frustrations, and thank you for your continued work.

Really don't want to be selling this, but needs must. TM PSG-1 - NEEDS WORK. This gun works fine when stripped and bench testing, so nothing dreadful. When back together, it has a dead trigger. It needs either a selector plate or trigger switch.... and a rear pin (see second photo) It has a brand new motor (what i was told was the problem) and a brand new Guarder piston fitted. Original motor and spare piston included. It even has a service receipt from Fire-Support dated Jan 2017 £200 collected £215 posted200.00 GBP

Pretty old but still functioning just fine. 350fps on a 0.25 (all i had to chrono). That's about 391fps as a conversion. Complete with 3-9x40 scope with working reticule illuminator. It has previously been fitted with a suppressor, but I have no idea where the adaptor or original end plate are. Doesn't affect use, just something to be aware of if buying. £100 collected £115 posted100.00 GBP

VFC HK417 GBBR Semi-automatic only (German version) so perfect for a DMR. Has a minor flaws- the is a small break on the upper receiver, pictured. This means the charging handle won't lock into place with the bolt at the rear. Basically, don't try and shoot birds or planes, or do middle eastern celebratory fire and you won't even notice it. £300 collected £315 delivered300.00 GBP

As a starter for 10 points, all made up from gear i already had. 1. Crafted Novvi cape in everglade. 2. Cheap micro chest rig in ATACS-FG 3. Walther P99 with suppressor 4. KJW Ruger Mk1 cabine with a 2-7x32 EDIT: the suppressor on the MK1 is made from a pool cue extension handle, 3D printed baffles, foam inserts and an aluminium over tube. The actual suppression is only about half of the tube. Currently set up for 5 KJW mags (4+1) and the same for the P99. Primary can be swapped out for M4 based mags for AEG DMR if required. Ruger is currently doing circa 475fps so a good starting point in terms of power. Garden isn't long enough to dial in hop for max range test, so that'll have to wait. Also got an option for carrying Ares Stryker mags so I can steal my sons boltie if required. I had a WE M14 with 7 mags on a belt kit. Weighed a frigging tonne but when I'd fine tuned it, it sent Madbull .36 for miles. Apart from the weight, cost and inconvenience of 20 round mags in such a beast, I loved it.
