The 'What have you just bought' Thread
GiantKiwi replied to Cameron364's topic in Guns, Gear & Loadouts
Lancer mags are CGS system (only marginally MWS compatible), so you may have issues with the gas routers being too proud. Cheap enough fix if it happens, as just replace with the guarder ones. -

250mm for the inner barrel right up to the end of the outer. GM 3.5 nozzle, but take the seal off the back of the stock nozzle (GM rear seal isn't compatible with DE BCG) for being able to fit an NPAS - NPAS doesn't fit in stock DE nozzle. Jaeger or FEDA for NPAS - former is easier to get hold of in the UK, latter has some QC issues as of late. Bavtac/Jaeger nubs aren't compatible with DE hop arm, unless you want to overhop .48's with no hop applied ofc. MR hop rubbers contact patch get eaten by the nozzle on both stock and GM, so something flamingo or similar (which is a bugger as flamingo are flimsy). Did it have a black or silver BCG? If its black (V2), the mags are good, if its silver (V1) you'll want to get something else. -
Anyone used the Co2 box mag for VFC M249?
GiantKiwi replied to Mini airsoft's topic in General Discussion
Just HPA it - CO2 is worse for cooldown than Green Gas. -
Probably bumped into you in the past then - always used to be green - think the last one i went to was the godawful one at the ex munitions depot near Peterborough.

After a long discussion with the local dive shop - the only problem you're ever going to encounter is that getting it filled will be the problem when its out of date - if like me you're decanting off a bigger bottle, which is appropriately tested, the problem is moot. However for me, when the little bottle goes to its death, i'll just be buying a new one as its not all that expensive to replace with aluminium. A lot of the dive shops in Scotland however, will huff and puff if ask them to do anything with a carbon fibre bottle - some will demand it tested by their centre prior to filling, regardless of its age and others will flat out refuse regardless.

You probably aren't going to get a response - all of their interactions evaporated over 3 years ago.

Vector Optics Frenzy Plus 1x18x20 enclosed red dot (Acro-esque except it has a decent warranty, unlike clone Acro's) Gunday Acro mount base for GEN3/4 WE/TM Glock Airtac x T1P G17/AAP Shotshell HPA Adapter 6x Cyma shotshells Decided to basically spend money on the thing I already have rather than trying to obtain something I don't for the moment 😅 -
I use the laylax one, just because the silicone thing in it can be chucked in the dishwasher after a game day.

Almost certainly under an NDA. Breaching one can be ruinous.

I had a bright pink TRMR multishot at an AI, it still went on a walk of its own - pink means nothing

Jez used to be part of a very well known retailer at the time, he has contacts all over the retailers in the UK - if his source says something, it almost certainly is the case.

The website is located on GoDaddy's Arizona datacenter, which is only offered to customers with a US Domestic zip code - It says it is shopify, but it isn't.

Probably made worse by having optics on things which are as expensive as what they're mounted to. I'm still technically well inside of what the prices could have been had I bought things new - working on the principle of had I bought them new, I would be significantly worse off. KWA was a trade, so no extra expenditure. RATech M4 was £400 with 7 WE PMags (the rifle new before shipping and taxes is over £1000 and each of the 6 extra mags were about £40-50, so lower end of £1300ish) DE N4 cost me £150. Even with the other crap i've bought since for each of them, I'm still in my (convoluted) mind, something like negative £5-600 👀

They only allow copyright on items on sale in Japan, as firearms are illegal to possess, Glock normally wouldn't have a leg to stand on. However, as Glock have now licensed their designs to Baton for Japan, the principle has changed. Baton are selling licensed Glock items in principle and thus Glock now have the legal capability to issue the cease and desist and have it mean something there.
-
Looks like I won't be getting one despite my intentions - Baton, who rebrand KJW pistols, particularly CO2 models, now 'own' the license for Glock in Japan - which ultimately means Gen 5 MOS will cease to be made.

Sig air Green gas pistol serial number
GiantKiwi replied to Tossviscount's topic in Guns, Gear & Loadouts
Sig air are licensed replicas, so the serial number should be present, as per their own website. -
Given how diabolical the TLSFX one can be (Had a flying mortar'ed flashbang hit me in the head at one site in England), I definitely wouldn't be wanting to be downrange of a homebrew one. Word of mouth is still fairly prevalent, and all the locals dogpiling (which by the way, is now a criminal offence under the Online Safety Bill 2023) on a negative review just confirms that the site is best avoided.

Seems to have followed the upper side of your suggestion now.

Where did you buy it from? Confusingly there are multiple versions of the Double Eagle one, but EMG also released one under the CYMA Gas System, which adds further confusion. Could you take a picture of the inside of the trigger group in the lower receiver? CGS is fairly proprietary, and if it doesn't have the ZET plate inside, it's definitely a CGS. Edit: Found it, PB seems to have their own version for reasons only known to them. It's a newer gen than the ones that popped up last year, but they've changed the mag and stock. So accounting for the 3 different generations that are already on the market, plus any localisation permutations, there is at least 12 different versions worldwide of the EMG/DE N4.

Spotted in the Scottish Airsoft Community FB by a friend, but it was too good to not pass on (i got banned whilst trying to join a while back, so i cannot link it) That L85 best be gold plated.

Jaeger precision npas vs federal concept federal npas
GiantKiwi replied to Angelvill3's topic in Gas Guns
Also opted for the Jaeger one for my DE N4 with GM nozzle, after a few friends were having issues with the FEDA one (piss poor QC on the plastic bit as well as the supposedly loctited screw working itself loose regularly) - it also helped that the Jaeger one is 2/3rds the price of the vaunted FEDA. Dropped it in and didn't even need to touch the adjustment screw to end up in the right range - 120PSI with a 345mm inner barrel came out at 1.1J on a 0.32g. -
Went and tried out Players of War today, as its actually easier for me to get to than S8. Entrance was a bit difficult to spot from one direction, but once in its got a decent proper hard standing with no dubious drops or quagmires to get stuck in. Safezone is well cordoned with what must be close to 20ft high netting to prevent stray fliers entering it. Canteen was a nice surprise for me, but alas I'm on restricted diet, so kind of moot point. Sign in process for a first timer was nice and clear with segregated sections for sign in, the shop and chrono (other sites could really take note on this bit). Game areas are similar vein to S8 (Only so much you can do with a planned forest after all) but a little less treacherous in places. Lots of multitiered cover, which is especially important for vertically challenged folk like myself. Once I got my bearings, the games were pretty good and there wasn't any point where I was dreading a long slog back to a spawn. Critically the laying down the law on things in the safety brief, I saw no dubious play all day - which is a rarity these days - certainly wasn't any teflon warriors floating about. It's also the first site in a while where those with sniper rifles were actually consistently observing MED's well - probably because they don't let just anyone rock up with one immediately on day one, which was absolutely fantastic. Definitely a site i'll be headed back to, as the vibe in general was excellent, and balancing of teams was done at sign in, so there wasn't any clique-y grouping up BS at the start of the day.

Christ on a bike. Almost as much as the vaunted VFC, but I suppose it'll probably work a little longer.

Newly acquired DE N4. Immediately replaced the nozzle with a GM 3.5 (with DE piston head) so I could fit the Jaeger NPAS. Barrel swapped for a Crazy Jet 345mm, because I couldn't find a 350 in any reasonable timeframe - Silverback GBB 60 Degree and Titan Nub for the hop. Paraphenalia on the externals are Irregular Designs inspired cheek riser, Vector Maverick Gen III on a clone unity micro mount, PTS Dead Air Sandman-K (tracer type), Magpul AFG and an M300 clone. SP Systems HPA adapter, which miraculously didn't need the router changed, despite it being a T8 platform one.
