  1. Ahh cadets, they always make me chuckle!
  2. Oh dear god don't let the mrs find out! Items Ordered: 1 X Marui MP7A1 Gas Blow Back GBB SMG. 4 X Marui MP7A1 GBB MAGAZINE 1 X Marui Tracer New Unit for all Models 1 X MadBull Precision 0.2g Dark Knight Tracer BB 2000 rds (Bottle) Green Been hankering for one of these since probably July last year, I'm so excited right now I look a little bit like jimmy saville just before a tour of children's ward!
  3. it's just shy of 300fps on abbey ultra, high 290's. Range, considering the FPS is phenomenal, haven't measured it but it definitely shoots further than a stock G&G combat machine. mag pouches are a complete arse to get though, had to have them custom made in america.
  4. The 5-7 is awesome, great range and a LOT of kick for a TM, lots of people have had problems running them on propane/ green gas so I've stuck to abbey ultra and it's never missed a beat. So much so that now when I'm playing CQB I don't bother with a rifle and just take the 5-7 with 3 mags.
  5. DUN DUN DUNNNNNN, my latest offering: MULTICAM MAN!!!! (apologies for the terrible iPhone photo, it'll be changed for one from a proper camera eventually I promise) Uploaded with ImageShack.us Kit list is as follows from the top down: Dragonred Ops Core ballistic repro with First Spear ops core hybrid cover. Z-Tactical Sordins which when I'm wearing them plug into a Z-Tactical TEA PTT attached to an Intek MT5050. Eyepro is a pair of ESS Crossbow glasses, the ones with the thin arms for wearing under headsets. Shirt is an issue MTP UBACS (small, because I'm built for speed, not for comfort). Plate carrier is a Flyye repro of the LBT6094A with a triple 5.56 insert for the kangaroo pouch and a Warrior double M4 pouch on my off side. Belt is a Templar Assault Systems (TAS) molle belt in tan, can't be arsed changing it for multicam. (it's not loose, I'm standing funny) Pouches wise on the belt I have a double 5-7 mag pouch from thevestguy.com, a TAS roll-up dump pouch, a TAS rip-off medic pouch for various bits and bobs and a 5-7 Blackhawk Serpa on the CQC molle mount thingy. Trousers are issue MTP combats. Boots are issue gore tex combat boots. Gloves are Oakley SI assault gloves. The whole set up works nicely with whatever weapon I'm rocking since both my SCAR and M4 take the same mags and I only have the 5-7 as a pistol. Things I'm looking to add/change are: Plate carrier needs dummy plates - already ordered and winging their way from china as I type this. Trousers need replacing with some crye gen2/3s (repro obviously, I'm not spending 3 figures on trousers to play soldiers in the woods). Have a Rhino mount with j-arm being sent over from a friend in the states (ITAR LOLZ!!!) which I'm mounting a dipol D125 on for night vision fun. I'd like to put a surefire helmet light on the ops core, but I'm still umming and ahhhing about it, not sure I'd honestly get any use out of it, especially with the NVG on the way. Plate carrier needs a hydration pouch, if anyone can recommend a good one for a smaller bladder I'd really appreciate it. Reasoning behind smaller bladder being that I hate things overhanging from the bottom of the plate carrier and catching on the belt.
  6. You won't regret it Ian, they're horrible to begin with but once you've got used to them contacts are definitely the way forward.
  7. Bit the bullet and bought an intek MT-5050 PMR446 radio to go with the sparkly sordins, of course that meant that I needed a new PTT too as my old (cobra, eugh) radio was a sort-of-motorola connection and the new one is an ICOM type, so I also bought a TCI PTT. While the going was good and ahead of my planned MP7 purchase when I get home (lots of post deployment goodies for me!) I also got myself an Element PEQ16, there are cheaper PEQ replicas out there, but none with quite so many functions.. all this one's lacking really is an IR laser, but since the red laser is visible with NVG anyway I don't see that as too much of a detractor, especially as it's only $51.99. Payday splurge done!
  8. Set of z-tactical sordins, and a dragonred ops core clone in multicam... just need to replace the diabolical cobra radio that I had been using (Ian will be able to back me up on that one!). I'm thinking of getting a midland 5050, anyone have any experience with them?
  9. An extra 4 tan midcap SOPMOD mags for my SCAR, another mag for my 5-7 and another tornado grenade (fire-support were doing a deal on them where you got a gascan and propane adaptor free... bargain!). I'm going to have such a massive pile of goodies waiting for me when I get home! Oh, and the pistol mag pouch I ordered from thevestguy.com arrived via BFPO this weekend, looks pretty well made.
  10. Finally cracked and shelled out £40 for a double 5-7 mag pouch from TheVestGuy.com, sick of having to squeeze my mags into WAS pouches that are much too tight.

    battlefield 3

LOLZ, one US carrier battlegroup would and could faceroll most of our navy and airforce in a week. Supply chain is NOT an issue for America, they have so many ships it's unreal.
  12. Weird, must have awesome air seals! Scar is now shooting 275fps with .25 BBs, new spring needed!
  13. Finally put the tightbore in this afternoon, a 363 is a perfect fit, just short of the end of the outer barrel by about 3-4 mm, with the flash hider on that increases to about 15mm. Makes me wonder why TM put a 300mm one in there to begin with? Perhaps to make sure it was round about 300FPS for the Japanese market?
  14. 6 classic army mp5 mid-caps to go in the GSG-522 PK that I won in the raffle at the GZ weekender. But they don't fit, for some reason they're refusing to mate with the feed tube inside the top of the magwell... Modification needed!
  15. So it's not quite wednesday... but here's what I'll be taking along to the NAE, excluding clothes, obviously... Looks like a lot of stuff, but when packed away it's actually a surprisingly low profile set up.
  16. I'll post mine on wednesday when my new shiny belt arrives.
  17. While their gear is undoubtedly super high quality, for my needs it's a bit overkill! I was seriously considering a strandhogg for a short while though. That was until I realised that the RVOps.co.uk warehouse is about 15 mins away from my house, I'll be heading down there to buy a new chest rig and belt this afternoon probably. Just sold a buttload of old stuff on eBay, so I can justifiably afford to replace my china ciras.
  18. Where did you get the 6094 from? I'm really keen to get one in multicam, but cannot find anywhere that has one in stock!
  19. Well it comes with a 300mm barrel, but that falls way short of reaching the end of the outer barrel, I'll 'dry fit' the tight bore with no hop rubber first, if it all looks good I'll put it in.
  20. haha, it certainly makes enough noise! What mods (if any) have you done to yours? I'm planning on putting a 363mm madbull 6.03 in there and that's about it. Can't really justify switching to LiPo for this one since the ROF is great on an 8.4 NiMh and the battery compartment is just the right size. In other news, the Tornado arrived this morning, have chucked it into the back yard a couple of times, so far so good, it's a LOT lighter than I expected, and smaller too, fits comfortably into a standard single M4 pouch, I was expecting it to be quite bulky, like a coke can kinda size. Real test is wednesday evening, gonna give it a go at Southwest Wargames CQB site, I'll chuck up a quick review ASAP.
  21. So no tornado in the post yet (expecting it tomorrow), but I have just made my single man's frivolous purchase for the month and next month also, probably the month after too! My M4 is in the shop being repaired after a complete failure last weekend, pulled trigger... nothing happened. Bummer. Absolutely worth it though, one Tokyo Marui SCAR-L: Uploaded with ImageShack.us Whole thing just oozes quality, really solidly built and it sounds AWESOME, haven't taken it out for a bash yet but it'll be getting a good run out next wednesday. Bought a 5 pack of MAG 190 round midcaps to go with it, had to do a little bit of a mod to them so that the magazine catch on the rifle would engage properly, but all's well after a little work with some pliers. Huge props to Fire-Support.co.uk also, who supplied the magazine adapter, I ordered a SOPMOD one expecting to have to file the sides flat so it would fit, but it appears someone there remembered me phoning them earlier in the week and they sent me a SCAR specific one instead, just dropped right in! Of course... had they advertised on their website that they had SCAR ones then I'd have ordered that instead, but still, the customer isn't always right and in this instance I'm happy to have been corrected!
  22. Will do, not sure when I'm skirmishing next, probably the GZ Weekender, but I'm pretty sure my back garden is going to be peppered with BB's as soon as I get it!
  23. one of these sweet sweet badboys: http://www.fire-support.co.uk/product/airs...t-grenade--red- BOOOM.
