  1. Evenin’ all. I’ve been trying to ignore the urge but it’s just inevitable…I need an MP5 in my life, so come the new year (when I’ve hopefully recovered from the financial stress of Christmas) I will be buying one. But which?! Ideally I’d like a full metal A5 variant with the sliding stock. Will be looking to build it up with a slightly modern twist - thinking m-lok hand guard to allow for a light and stubby fore grip, suppressor, top rail with RDS etc. so needs to be a model that will be compatible aftermarket accessories. The obvious choice would be the TM NGRS MP5A5. I know you get what you pay for and it will be the most realistic option with the ‘recoil’ and the dead click on empty, but I think the TM is going to probably out of my budget unless I can get a good deal on one second hand. Ideally don’t want to spend more than £300 (even that could land me in the dog house 😬😂). So I guess my question is, what would your recommendations be given the above criteria? Seems there are a lot of options out there and I’m still relatively new to the the hobby, so still learning which brands/models are worth bothering with and which aren’t. Any help is greatly appreciated 🙏
  2. I’ve got a pair of Walker Razors and they’re fantastic. Proper active hearing protection. They do have a line-in socket so you can pipe your incoming comms into your ears, but would need a PTT with a mic for sending.
  3. I currently have the Feyachi mentioned above and it’s spot on for the money. Just upgraded to an Sig holographic clone as it suits my needs/play style better.
  4. Pretty generic budget red dot which should be perfectly adequate for some weekend skirmish action. Not expensive so a pretty good place start and fine out what you do or don’t like in an optic. Only thing I would say is that you may find that you want a riser for it as, depending or what face/eye protection you use, you may find it hard to get your check low enough to get a good sight picture.
  5. Thanks for all the info there. Really helpful stuff. So I think I’m going to measure my buffer with some verniers and see which option will be best and then have a hunt around for something along the lines of the S.I stock.
  6. That looks like something I could get on with… will have a look for a cheap clone. As you say it’s the battery storage that’s the problem with the minimalist stocks. Just bought new batteries too… 🤦‍♂️ This is another thing, I don’t want to spend money on something that’s going to rattle like a MF… What’s the deal with mil-spec stuff?
  7. Yeah as far as I know it’s a standard m4 style buffer tube so most things should fit, trouble is, there’s so much choice that it’s hard to know what’s good. So many knock offs, and knock offs of knock offs… Just looking for a bit of inspiration and/or recommendations really. If all else fails, I’ll use your previous suggestion 😆 That ultra lite looks pretty tasty but not sure how battery friendly it would be 🤔
  8. Well it is airSOFT after all 💁‍♂️🤣 Yeah the look of the SPR stock is another reason for wanting to changing it up. Same goes for the charging handle…great RIF but let down by a few cosmetic bits in my opinion. Will have a look at the the ones you suggested. Definitely prefer a sliding option if possible. Yeah, I agree the M904G stock does look a bit flimsy but I’ve got to say, the quality of M904E as a whole seems excellent for the money!
  9. Evening all, I’m wanting to change the standard stock on my Krytac SPR as I find myself shouldering the rifle quite high and while the bottom of the butt pad is quite angular, it sort of digs in just below my collarbone. Yeah yeah I know that I’m probably being a bit soft, first world problems etc. A friend of my has just bought himself a Double Eagle M904E and the stock on that has a lovely little angled bit at the bottom, which is just so much more comfortable to shoulder! So, looking for a bit of inspiration really. Needs to look good, be reasonably easy to get hold of, and preferably not cost a fortune as I’ve already spent waaaaaaaay too much on gear this month 😆
  10. This is actually really cool! Didn’t realise it was actually based on a real firearm. Kinda makes me want one even more now 😂
  11. My missus and the kids got me a nice m600 clone for my Krytac SPR-II 😃Haven’t mounted the tape switch yet - going to have a play with some inverted rail covers. Just need a DBAL clone now 🤔
  12. Yeah, a nice little feature I thought.
  13. This would be great for this part of the world. I’m based in Paignton and the only sites around at Skirmish in Exeter and MMA in Saltash. A decent site in the Plymouth area would be a perfect as it’s pretty much half way between those two sites.
  14. I agree with the OP, from what I’ve seen, it seems the majority of airsoft retailers want to charge over the odds for P&P when it comes to smaller items. As was mentioned earlier, I feel like it’s partly for simplicity and just charging a flat rate for shipping, but it just feels a bit crap paying more for postage than the actual cost of them item you’re looking to buy.
  15. Little update for you guys. Charger turned up earlier this week and I thought I’d give it a quick spin tonight. Really happy with it for the money! Great little charger that is more or less plug and play. Once you’ve set the charge voltage and charge current, literally plug in the battery, charger assesses the load and starts charging. Shows you all the information you need, and once it’s done it automatically stops charging. Last used settings are saved too so, next time (provided you’re charging the same or similar battery) just plug it in and away it goes. Recommended for anyone looking for a cheap little charger.
  16. Also on the shopping list…Lipo safe bags. Thanks for the reminder 😉
  17. Thanks for all the help guys. Just ordered one from a small online drone store along with an XT60 to Deans adapter 👍 Must be pretty decent as they seem to be sold out pretty much everywhere… Will report back once it lands.
  18. That’s good to know, thanks. I think I’ll go for it as over all it seems like a nice little unit. This is something I hadn’t considered actually. My RIF is weird for Deans connectors so hopefully there is a readily available adapter for deans to XT. And on the back of that, am I better going for XT60 or XT30 variant? Or does it not really matter if I’m going to be using an adapter?
  19. Thanks for the replies chaps. Much appreciated. I’ll have a look into the other offerings. I can’t see slightly longer charge times being an issue but perhaps it maybe be worth spending the extra for a bit more functionality.
  20. Morning all. Just looking for a quick bit of advice as I’m new to the world of lipo cells and their subsequent charging and care requirements. I’ve been doing a bit of research and think I’ve got my head around most of it but would just like to confirm that this would be a suitable charger for the types of lipo batteries that we use in airsoft. https://www.toolkitrc.com/m4ac Out of stock here but available elsewhere From my understanding this should be suitable but would just like to confirm before purchasing… Are there any other chargers i should be considering at this price point, Or if this isn’t suitable, recommendations would be great 😄 Thanks in advance!
  21. I’m super interested to see what happens with this. From what I’ve seen/heard about the DE’s AEGs (I will be buying one of their UTR45’s one day😍) they could be on to a winner if they get this right too….
  22. I’ll suggest something a little different… I’ve just got myself a Cybergun Canik TP9 and that seems to be pretty good on gas even with the temperature coming down. Seems to be capable of singling at least 2 full mags before it runs out of juice.
  23. Thanks for all the replies guys! Appreciate all the suggestions - serious and slightly less serious! 🤣 Definitely need to sort some wet weather gear. Nothing worse than wet feet so thanks for tips Rogerborg. Will check out the other sites mentioned and will hopefully make some games there one day - don’t mind a bit if a drive!
  24. Hi all! Just getting into the world of airsoft really. Played my first game with a guy from work and his squad and was instantly hooked. Gradually getting some gear together but I’m looking for some players local to me that wouldn’t mind me tagging along at some games. I’m based in Paignton and as fair as I know my nearest sites are Skirmish Exeter and MMA in Saltash. Hoping to get a couple more games under my belt this side of Xmas but not sure if that will be possible now things are starting to get wet and cold.
