Yeah, I'm definitely not writing the site off my list. It's convenient, good facilities and the game zone itself suited my style of play. I had a few good trades and got the drop on a couple of people , as did others on me.

First time at Driver Wood. Just went for an afternoon session, £20, not too bad. Safe zone is good, albeit hectic because they had airsoft, airsoft 'beginners' and it seemed 2 lots of paintball. So lots of people, I left most of my kit in the car. Safety brief was concise and quick, and team ID was via 2 x armbands - so no sneakily hiding an arm out of sight. Initial game brief was good, and I sort of followed the crowd because I didn't know where any locations were. Took a few good ambush hits and went back to re-spawn. Whilst I was meandering back in to play I'd missed an altercation between an apparent 'site regular' (40ish year old) and a younger player - who's brother then weighed in. I witnessed or heard none of it, and others may give an eye witness account. But ultimately it resulted in the players being booted out and banned. Worse still the older gent decided he'd wait outside the site to continue the argument, the last I overheard from the marshalls were the 2 brothers had 'filled him in'. All over a heated exchange of plastic pellets, pretty pathetic. After that it took a while to get going again, with poor communication between the marshall team/players. Second game was less punchy but there were a group on the green team, that some orange players said were not taking hits. First day of pewing since early May, and it's reminded me why I tend to stick milsim/battlesim. Shame because the site is only a 25 minute drive from the girlfriends.

My recommendation for imperium is to go to the ground war day. I really like the site, but get frustrated on skirmish days. Due to the sites size and effectively 2 game zones - it can be like herding 200 cats in and out at the end of games, it's taken upto 20/30 minutes. Ground war is just a morning and afternoon game, if players need extra ammo etc, take it to respawn, or go back to the safe zone under their own steam. Make use of the vehicle mounted MGs if they're working, but they are BB magnets.

Nothing too exciting this month, just a Cyma railed AK gas tube on my LCT AIMS. Tempted to swap the outer barrel/gas block/front sight for an AK104/5 length for a Romy Draco build. Aside from that saving for my next AK build, which will have to utilise a Gas RIF because I can't see how I'll build what I want with an AEG and get it to work. Any want to trade a brand new Lego Millenium falcon 75192, for a GHK AKM? 😬

Filling the void of no pewing for a few months (bloody work shifts) by tinkering with my AKs. Put my RPK back to wood stock and put a folding stock on my AK. Keeping the side folding reciever because I know I'll want to put it back on an AK in the future. Next pewing will be first weekend of August at Battle Lakes. May have to say goodbye to the RPK within the year due to a possible move to London as a mature student. So I need to give it a good few run outs.

Think that's pretty hopeful for an externally basic Cyma AK. New in stock upto £250, with the magazines being about £10-12 new and a railed gas tube being £16.99 and battery. Save maybe £35 over buying it all new.

I think omega3squadron sounds healthier.

For sale/swap is an LCT AK, 'TIMs' model. This originally was an underfolder, which I bought from a collector who said it was a wall hanger. I swapped the receiver over from my upgraded LCT TIMs, as I always wanted an underfolder. So, the receiver has been on 10 or so game days, but everything else RIF wise is from the original underfolder. I have put it back together and test fired in my garden for 30 or so BBs from 2 of the mags pictured. I do not have a chrono, but it fired fine. Overall in good condition, some scratches on receiver/dust cover as pictured. Includes 6 x mid cap mags as pictured, these are all previously skirmished and I am including them in the sale to get someone started who doesn't have an AK. 3 orange are Cyma, the black ones I think are APS, they feed, but the black ones have a bit of wobble. 3 pick up points I've noticed: - upper handguard gas tube is very tight fit, needed swearing to get it removed and a wooden mallet to persuade it back on. - to get fully automatic, you need to go down to semi and then back up. It doesn't like to go from safe to full auto. No idea why, this is third LCT AK I've swapped recievers on and the other 2 were fine after my tinkering. - the mini tamiya should be swapped to Deans, the red cable came out the back of the connector. I re-seated it and it connects fine to the battery and fires. Would rather hand deliver this myself to make sure the buyer is happy with the above. Looking for £230 Which includes, post and PayPal fees. - RIF - 6 x Mid caps - 7.4 LiPo (only if delivered by myself/collected) I have added the LCT TK104 lower handguard, allowing for attachment via rail for accessories. The original plastic lower is included. Postage via Parcelforce48 Listed price includes PayPal G&S fees, price negotiable if I hand deliver and cash payment. I can deliver myself within a 30/40minutes of Amesbury, Wiltshire and Sittingbourne, Kent and most places along the way on the M25, M3 and A303. Obviously valid defence required. More than happy to provide videos of it firing/slow scan video over the whole RIF. I would only swap for an AEG of similar original retail value (£300 - £320) or part ex for something less. Im looking at an LCT AIM Carbine as the base for a next build so trade for one would be cool. Open to most things, especially WW2. Face to face for swaps, no trades by post.£230

As far as I'm aware the main DDPM regular issued packs are the one above, the Karrimor ECM pack and a mortar carrying variant of the one above, I'd assume there'd be a medic clamshell type pack also. Not seen a bergan, probably just cheaper to issue out a DDPM bergan cover like you've seen and put that over a standard DPM bergan. SF may have had DDPM bergans, if they're out there they'd come up on fleaBay I guess with the appropriate "genuine SF issue, rare, I know what I've got" pricing. Any other kit you're after?

It's got far too many rails/mods for a FAL. Needs an angry sweary 4 x divorced platoon sergeant attached to one end and that's it. I have the beginnings of a particularly cursed AK build in my head/gathering the parts to. If it comes to fruition, I will post here to induce vom.

Pretty tame family history compared to others here. Of note: Great-Great-grandfather was 32 when he died serving in the RAMC as a medic onboard the Glenart Castle Hospital ship, sunk in 1918 by a U-boat. Family tradition, that all first born sons carry his first name as our middle name. Maternal Great-grandfather served in the East during WW2 and ended the war as part of the occupation force in Japan. Supposedly had photos of the aftermath of hiroshima, which he'd smuggled home. My nan used to say he was in a 'commando' but I've tried to research formations that ended up in Japan and I couldn't see any. He was from the Isle of Lewis, with McLeod surname, so I presumed he'd joined a jock unit. I maybe wrong, and he could have transfered between units/formations. My mum said he never spoke of the war and very much had PTSD. My mums paternal grandfather was a train driver in London/Kent during the war, so was in a protected occupation. He did have a small box of paraphernalia, such as helmet for air raids, which I did see as a child. Unfortunately this went wayward on his passing. Dad's side. His mother was born in Danzig to Polish/German parents. His mum fled Danzig via U-boat with her mother and brother in 1945 as part of Operation Hannibal. Supposedly they were meant to escape on the German liner the Wilhelm Gustloff, however secured passage on the U-boat and avoided the greatest maritime disaster. Not sure about the rest of her family, but it's probably safe to say the men would have fought/served on the German side in some capacity. I know she had cousins who remained in Germany and my dad kept in contact until the last remaining one died of cancer in the early 2000s. Their family surname was Hess. Dad's dad was born in Hertfordshire and served in the RAF Regiment for his national service, completing the majority of his time at an AA installation in the Troodos mountains of Cyprus. He came home, became a salesman and learnt to fly, and flew in civilian airshows in planes like the gypsy and tiger moths. He remains a plane fanatic, only stopping flying within the last decade.

For sale/swap is an Army Armament R36/G36. I got this second hand myself a few months ago from the classifieds. Had a few plinking shots in the garden, but not my thing and looking to put money into a new laptop as I'll be a 'mature' student soon. A few marks which I've tried to picture as best I can, and this was an ex two-tone. More than happy to provide video of it firing or a slow scan over the RIF. Includes the RIF, 2 x Gas Tight Mags and the selector disks. Included is a screenshot of the advert wording when I bought it. Price includes PF48 post and PayPal G&S fees. I will also chuck in what gas I have left if I hand deliver, the gas will not be posted. I can deliver within 30/40 minutes of Sittingbourne, Kent and Amesbury, Wiltshire. And most places between the two, along the M25/M3/A303. Please note, you must have a valid defence, and be happy to prove. Brand new accounts with zero forum engagement, or zero feedback will likely not be sold to, unless face to face. Ideally looking to sell, but would swap for: Cheap AEGs: I.e. cheap cyma TM based AK, JG MP5 sort of thing. I don't have the spare funds to put any money on top, so please only offer something you value the same/similar. Any trades are face to face only. I won't even consider trade by post so don't waste your time asking. Thanks, happy pewing.£95

Also, worth checking Patrol Base in the run to Xmas, they usually have an AK variant in their sales. Last year it was a Cyma AK74SU, cm045a. For £145. Obviously quite a way off yet though. I've added a cyma AK recognition chart. It can be found by googling 'cyma ak models' and image search. They make loads of variants, just not that much variety in stock in the UK. Hope that helps, happy pewing!

As good if not better than my LCT out the box. However depending on what you want (heavier/nicer finish), you can pick up a 2nd hand LCT for the same price as most of the new Cyma AKs.

Getting there with my long AK/Romy Paratrooper RPK build. Added the dong handgrip (bought from firesupport) the current upper handguard is off my AK47, I'll keep my eye out to find one that matches the lower in colour. Next is to swap the receiver on my AK from side folder to under folder (always wanted one)

For sale is a used Nuprol Essentials XL sized RIf case. Selling as I've now added a folding stock to my RPK, I don't need the length of this case. Features wave foam. Please Google 'nuprol essentials xl hardcase' for product dimensions. Due to size I won't post, but can deliver within a 20/30 minute drive of Amesbury, Wiltshire and Sittingbourne, Kent. I'm working/living between the two. If you live just off the M25/M3/A303 between Sittingbourne and Amesbury, I'll most likely be able to deliver it aswell.£30

Not to be a debbie-downer, but is your priority producing content or amassing a collection of RIFs? You say you've got 23 or so RIFs, unless they were all donations I'd say that you have had the money to get a decent camera set up. Even just a mobile with a tripod is good enough. - that's all Negative Airsoft uses, just a phone suspended by a monkey grip thing above him while he works/berates RIFs. The best time to start anything is always 'last year or the year before'. But some get lucky in the algorithm, try and work out a niche in the airsoft YouTube world. There's enough licking shit-stains on the interwebs already. All the best, and do it for as long as you enjoy it.

For sale is a Firefield red dot sight I got this second hand myself, but ended up not using it as I didn't like the look of it on top of an AK. Not sure if it's my eye sight but I found that it had to be placed quite far down the RIF for the reticle to focus. Has a choice of red/green and a few different reticule shapes. Comes with a small cover for the lense. Price includes P&P and PayPal fees.£17.50

For my RPK build I want to add a Romanian style Dong lower handguard. As an RPK one is as rare as hens teeth, a solution is to swap out the handguard retainer from an RPK one to an LCKM one, which would allow me to use the LCT AIMS dong handguard. Before I go down this route do any of you lovely people know if I will need any tooling beyond hand tools to do this? Mostly concerned with removing and re-seating the gas block. would I need a press for this?

Selling a reproduction (I think based on no maker label) partizan camo hooded over top. Cool camo pattern, unfortunately no makers/size label inside. I'm roughly 5'9/5'10 on a good day and I'd say it's ever so slightly too short because of elasticated waist and cuffs. It's fine with arms at my sides but the cuffs ride up when moving etc. A few measurements: Approx 56cm pit to pit Approx 55cm from waist band hem to bottom of collar. Approx 47cm from underside of armpit to cuff. I'd say more a small than medium for normal clothing sizes Features: Front zip 2 x zipped front pockets 1 x velcro breast pocket on left side. Toggles to tighten hood. Elastic waist and cuffs. Overall good condition, I would not recommend for use at a brambly/thorny site/or crawling along in this due to the material. Happy to answer questions, Price includes Post via RM 2md signed for and PayPal G&S fees.£25

Selling a 'bundle' of AK bits. At the core of this, the AK does shoot, tested to approx 15m (extent of the garden) that's the good. The gearbox is wired to Deans. The bad (most of it) it is missing (at least): pistol grip screw Top cover Mock bolt/charging handle and spring guide Possibly a few screws (will include everything I have.) The folding stock is pretty wonky, the receiver is a Cyma 028, the trunnion and barrel is a TM AK105. Couple of small cracks in the receiver plastic on the left side above pistol grip, could be araldited/glued etc. The selector lever isn't aligned correctly (barely works)/gearbox issue as it just fires semi. The faux wood handguards don't currently fit, would need filing down. I'm happy to reassemble with the AK105 furniture fitted for posting. Selling as a bundle ideally, could be handy source of spare parts or a bitsa build. Happy to answer questions, Price includes Post via parcelforce48 and PayPal G&S fees. Just looking to get some money back to cover a day's pewing. Would trade for 2 or 3 RPK mags or RUSFOR/OPFOR stuff. Includes all parts in the photo£40

Having bought the majority of the RIFs I've had on here/other second hand sales sites. I'd recommend trying to get hands on the RIF where possible, at a site is ideal so you can test fire/chrono. One thing that's annoyed me is receiving a couple with bits of mud/dust/grime etc - makes me think about how well looked after they were. Only pay via PayPal goods and services, especially if you're having one posted to you. You're unlikely to get batteries sent in the post, because they can be a 'hassle'. Expect to replace at least the Hop rubber on any second hand RIF straight away. The argument to buy new is 'warranty' but if you buy a new RIF and put a new hop unit/inner barrel etc in it, then it's not standard and I'd expect it to be out of warranty anyway. Also unless specified on a shops website for the specific RIF, the use of an 11.1 LiPo voids the warranty also. Like any product, things can just stop working/bits go unexpectedly. If you're after new and affordable, I think @RostokMcSpoons might recommend Double Eagle. Personally I'd recommend a Cyma AK, but obviously not an M4 platform. Oh and welcome to the forum.
