Taiwangun Shipping Disruption (Brexit Related Content)
Piman replied to Speedbird_666's topic in General Discussion
I have two shipments coming from Taiwangun. First shipped on 11/02/21 - Fees requested on 15th, paid on 16th through their tracking web page. Since then delivery has been rescheduled 4 or 4 time due to 'Brexit delays' but it is still stuck in Poland. Currently due to be delivered in the next 15 minutes according to their tracker but that is a fast van from Poland!!! Expect it to return to a delayed and await new made up delivery estimate soon. Second shipped on 19/02/21. In and out of clearance and customs agency in Poland. No request for any payments yet. Still stuck in Poland with 'Brexit delays' No request yet for further documentation, i.e. Firearms form. If they don't hurry up my UKARA will have expired which would be a disaster. Latest reviews on line for UPS show horrific delays and customer support so my expectations are low. Not very encouraging and I will not be ordering from Taiwangun anytime soon. Not because of them but purely because they are using UPS. James -

Ah yes, now I re-read your post that is clear. I have changed to the guarder nozzle kit and it all seems quite happy.

I have the AIP 140% high capa nozzle spring coming from Elite this week. I have notice the nozzle can be a little sticky but it has always released. I will play wit the different spring and see if I can notice any difference. James

So upper complete. Sorry about the poor contrast in the pictures. Barrel length just about perfect. With the standard Mamba compensator. . With the suppressor Got the CTM holster with a molle adaptor. This needed a little dremeling due to the change in trigger. With is set up for a short pull the gap behind the trigger is much smaller so material nedeed to be removed from the holster. In standard for the fit was perfect. With the pistol in the holster. One of the offset from the belt which feels a lot less than I thought now it is fitted. James

For the hammer and sears it is mainly for durability. The trigger itself; I just like the alloy trigger rather than plastic. It is also adjustable so I get the short trigger pull I like. I am also someone who loves to tinker and don't have any standard airsoft guns. I would imagine the standard pistol will be fine for a long time before any need for repair or upgrade. I just can't help myself!!! James

OK, so the lower is done. The Cowcow internals and GM trigger are in place. The trigger is almost a direct fit but a little adjustment was required to allow it to pull back far enough to release the hammer. You can see it has small extra protrusions to limit over-pull after the release. One possible downside with aftermarket triggers is you do lose the safety. I Modified the auto sear to match the original. I also took some pictures of the mods I made to the nozzle. You just need to cut/file the rear profiIe to match the original and trim the side guides by the smallest amount (about 0.5mm) to allow it to slide smoothly in the bolt/BBU. Just shave a little at a time until it moves freely like the original. Before During After I found that the Cowcow hammer roller caused a very sticky slide so although this picture has the silver Cowcow part this has now been replaced by the original. All fires nice and smoothly now. James

Gosh darn it. That happens to you too?

Nozzle requires minor mods. Already done and tested this and it works perfectly with the TM mags (curved seal).
-
So nearly ready to go. Just awaiting some springs. I have the CTM holster and it works well. Stands a little way from the belt but it is not bad. James

That looks very nice. Look forward to seeing in in action once you get the prints back.

Whatever you do don't look at the recent reviews on Trustpilot for UPS. It is scary. I just hope it arrives into the UK before my UKARA runs out. James -

Very true, but strange how quickly it changed (or may be not if they and UPS realised what they had committed to). I was looking at ordering from another EU based company to get a handful of small parts I can just not find anywhere in the UK. The want over 45 Euros to ship. Not to mention the truly ridiculous situation with the likes of Evike. I have ordered a couple of times from them before and anticipate a high shipping cost and or the normal fees and VAT. However they are now only offering the most expensive shipping option and this is stupidly high. I wanted a trigger that only they have that costs $30. Shipping is over $50 for such a small item. I thought I would add a few extra small items to see if I could spread the cost. Nope, went up to over $100 in shipping. Adding a PVC patch added $3 to shipping on its own. James -

I expect higher charges in regards to duty and tax but not handling fees. I do not know what is on the CN22 but the shipment included many spares and parts as well as guns. However things are not looking good as the shipping has update to: "UPS is holding the cargo at a secure facility, pending instructions and agreement." I suspect paperwork issues. James -

Has your shipment arrived yet? Mine was originally due yesterday but they are quoting 'Brexit' delays at the moment and have not updated the estimated delivery time. It is still in Poland at the moment. Interesting how my order had 3 times the brokerage charge. I guess they decide to rip me off for more money as it was a larger order even though the effort for them is the same. That's disgraceful. I also note (sucker that I am), having placed another order with Taiwangun, that their shipping cost has gone up 50%. James -

I suspect there is a lot of room for errors at the moment in the current Brexit/Covid chaos. I suspect this was missed as they try to work through the back log. -

I would be cautious about that. Either they have made a mistake or I am getting another large bill on arrival into the UK. James -

I have a pdf of the invoice they sent to me and it is for the correct amount. As far as details from UPS the attachment above is all I am getting in relation to the charges. Shortly after paying I have received an e-mail from UPS with the following statement. " you have a shipment coming, and we have received your payment of import fees. No further action is required on your part." I am not sure how much I believe that. The current tracking shows delivery is due this Thursday although the latest status is: "Your parcel is delayed due to a Brexit related disruption. We are adjusting delivery plans as quickly as possible." However it has stated that several times during it's journey. I will update all once I receive it. James -

Well that's just it. For VAT and duty it seems low and given there is a line specifically for VAT that is zero worries me that that has yet to come. It was just under 800. James -
Ah, yes. Sorry about that. I have found that thread now. It is not so much the cost for protecting but the loss of it for that game day and time taken to get a replacement. James
-
Not so much something I just bought but something I just made. A lens protector (after paying too much for the Laylax versions and finding they were only plastic). James

I have spent more than I should on Airsoft and the significant majority of this has been in the UK. I have only really gone overseas when I can't get what I wanted in the UK (and that includes most of this order from Taiwangun). UK stock is very hit or miss and that is especially so right now where it seems many products are out of stock. James -

Well UPS have charged me £32.11 in brokerage fees on top of 'government charges'. Absolutely disgraceful. Was expecting the usual £12. The 'government charges' are not what I expected but it did say these are subject to change. The delivery has not yet left Poland so I wait to see what actually happens when it arrives. James Actually, looking at the invoice I have a horrible feeling that I have yet to be charged VAT and duty for the UK. In which case I have no ideas why there are these charges. -

I e-mailed them and they are awaiting the VAT details from the UK. Quote: "At this time we have stopped shipping to UK because we are still waiting for our UK VAT number. We plan to come back to a normal shipping situation to UK in february. We apologize for the inconvenience caused." James
