Fitted the AG Hard Kick steel buffer today. Along with the Hao heavy bolt end and TM bolt it gives a nice thump when fired. Similar to a soft shooting 5.56x45 and while it did slow down full auto (not that I use it) double taps were still snappy enough.

When the temp drops I have the Alu and OG plastic buffers in the spares box (and a whole lightweight bolt!)

I need to fill a mag with 14g gas and see how many shots I get from it. As long as I can get 70+ I will be happy.

My HAO bolt end is in customs right now, and I have an AG hard kick buffer incoming as well. Can't wait to try it!

May I humbly ask: Why have a forum this size only to stick to statements like "keep the gun as stock as possible"? - Isn't all this to exchange experience and help each make MWS-dreams come true?

From what I read through 250 pages of MWS-glory-forum-posts a vast majority of people here are fitting theirs with everythibg they can find on the aftermarket.

I want to run the ProWin mags as they are superior in design, performance and handling with a G&P bolt carrier which, again, is superior in every aspect. - My question therefor was if anyone can help with the combination as the carrier seems to hang up on a part of the mag.

So if anyone can help it would be greatly appreciated- if not, that's alright, gonna figure it out on my own then. "Keep the gun stock" is not an answer to my question nor does it help.

    Thanks.

I'm genuinely curious. Can you elaborate why ProWin mags are superior? I've never heard this before. Also, with respect to the G&P carrier, why is this superior?

  3. Hello MWS'ers!

Update. I managed to remove the safety and now everything is in order again.

I received the Guns Modify EVO drop-in steel trigger box set today and just installed it tonight. After reinstalling my safety, I simply can't flick it to auto -- it won't budge past semi. This poses two problems: 1) I can't select full auto, and 2) I can't uninstall the safety again. Does anyone know how to get around this? It's a bit of an issue, as I need to remove the trigger box again to fix yet another issue, namely that the ZET plate seems to be misaligned ever so slightly with the bolt catch which causes the ZET plate to roll off of the bolt catch and then jam the catch (during firing). I used the original ZET plate, but the GM kit comes with its own -- so that might be the issue here. In any case, if someone has any tricks up their sleeve, do let me know.

Just fitted an RA-Tech NPAS to my TM MWS. Great FPS improvement. Super happy with the results.

Thanks for the results! I've been eyeing the RA-TECH NPAS for a while. Think I'll give it a go :)

Had a decent day on Saturday, spent mostly range testing my MWS for the first time. Have to say I was really pleased. Gun is completely stock standfast the SixG brass nub. Consistently hitting the 60m target with .30s, which, for me is ideal.

I did try some .36s but only managed 3-4 very sloppy shots before getting a stoppage every time. Any theories on why that may have happened? The BBs were Zero Blitzs.

I use BLS 0.36 non bio and I never have any issues. I've never heard of Zero Blitzs, so I can't speak to their quality. Maybe try a bag of BLS 0.36 and see how you get on.

  6. EDIT: Well...seems like someone beat me to it :D

If you are not familiar with 4UAD SmartAirsoft on YouTube, now's the time to check them out! It's a relatively new channel dedicated to doing methodical and scientifically sound reviews of airsoft replicas. If you ask me, they are quickly becoming the gold standard in how airsoft guns should be reviewed. Anyway, they just hit a homerun with their newest review of no other than the Tokyo Marui MWS. An absolute must watch for all followers of this thread! And if you ask me, the go-to review of the MWS (with BadaBing's being a very close second).

  7. Second MWS has arrived! Man... I never get tired of unboxing these things. And the brilliant finish they come with from the factory. I rattle canned my first MWS, so think this one will stay pristine. I have a civilian style build in mind for this one with a 13.5 M-LOK rail.

  8. Looks like Model Work Custom is producing what seems like a pretty decent 7075 Forged Lower for the MWS. Anyone here have experience with Model Work Custom? I could be interested in getting one.

  9. Anyone experienced their dust cover not staying closed? Mine will open at the slightest movement or interaction with the gun. I tried buying an Angry Gun steel dust cover but the problem remains. I heard a tip you could rig the spring to sit on the outside of the cover but that seems a bit odd to me - maybe I misunderstood? Any other tips or tricks? Thanks.

  10. @SSPKali awesome writeup regarding the WiiTech trigger parts. I've been eyeing them for a while now but have been undecided as to whether they are a definite improvement. Could you perhaps give a description of how you experience using the trigger with the WiiTech parts compared to the stock one. Is it a heavier pull? Better, more tactile wall and reset? A few descriptive words would be awesome.

  11. @Wild Weasel The closest I think you will get is the testing done by @JUSTICE_RAINS on page 131. And like @ajumma says it would be nice with some documented and quantifiable proof of what gives the best results in the MWS (or any rifle for that matter). It's a jungle out there, and all of us could surely benefit from some actual charted data that clearly depicts range and MOA using different combinations to debunk the hearsay from the facts (of course using a proper scientific method). It's a lot to ask, especially in these times -- but it would be so awesome...

I would try it without the green gas mod first, since the Gen 2 magazines seem to work just fine without it. I haven’t done the mod to any of my magazines and have run Nuprol 1.0 (low pressure gas) at temps above 18, 2.0 (green gas) at temps above 10, 3.0 (high pressure) at between 4 and 10 degrees and 4.0 (supa high pressure explodes TM guns) at temps below 3 with no issues at all.

It's my first go at using my MWS during winter time and am curious how you go about the higher pressure gasses after a game - do you vent your magazines or shoot them dry after a game when using e.g. 4.0? I would be concerned to store them with any higher pressure gas in them other than green gas but maybe that's an unnecessary concern?

  13. Hello everyone

I've started to upgrade my trusty MWS a bit. From the research I have done, mainly using this thread (which is awesome by the way), I have purchased a Modify Tan bucking and waiting for Dave to respond to an inquiry on a SixG nub -- exciting for these two upgrades.

I have always felt sending the bolt home on my MWS is a bit meh. I compare this to my GBLS GDR-15 which, when sending the bolt home, feels so utterly solid and powerful. Is there a way to achieve this with the MWS? I have bought the G&P aluminum buffer, as this seemed like a good place to start but still it feels kinda meh. I saw someone mention the RA-TECH medium or hard recoil spring (2.6 kg or 3.3 kg) could have an effect on this. Any testament to this statement? Other things worth trying?

    Thanks :)
