Now then folks, I'm in the market for an ambi fire selector and atrg says that the angry gun one which is predominantly the most available is shite, does anybody have a link to a reasonably priced selector that they have/have tried please?
-
Yep, I've been waiting for over 70days for a maritime bolt catch now - ordered on the 10th December, they keep saying wait a couple more days and see if it turns up and have you spoke to Royal Mail when it's not even in the country!
-
Mine is the ag socom rc2 with the acetech at2000 tracer in at night and a mini paint roller foam inner during the day and yes it does mute the shot noise a bit, sort of softens it slightly. After a bit of playing around I think I've sorted it now with no further problems.
-
I had a problem with the angry gun suppressor where all my rounds were constantly hitting the inside upper lip and not exiting the barrel.

Agreed, does work but be warned - too much and you risk over travel and the screws on your bolt carrier group can strike the top of the lower receiver and crack it in two. the solution to this is to buy 23mm flat tap rubber/nylon washers to take up the extra travel at the bottom of your buffer tube. I too have had bolt lock back issues, the bolt lock plate did not appear to be worn but I believe it was caused by a thicker lubricant running slower in cold weather. the bolt lock plate should move freely and easily and should rattle a little bit, it should be slightly loose, if it doesn't it will slow down its travel and cause it to miss the hook on the bottom of the bolt carrier group. Additionally I've gone for the G&P lightweight bolt lock plate, I believe this allows it to move slightly faster as the whole mechanism is actuated by the magazine spring pushing up the Rocker plate on the bolt catch. my final piece of the bolt puzzle is a c&c tac maritime bolt catch which has been in the wind from Hong Kong since the 18th of January and they are still fobbing me off as I understand they've got big problems over there at the moment.

Have a look at this mate, this will answer a few questions to get you going, then I suggest going back through this thread as there's lots of wisdom here. https://docs.google.com/document/d/10RLbvPbq-HXDayhcAIPHgoSTcFIcd3Q5PKZc288_tL0/edit?usp=drivesdk

Have a look at eagle six's videos on you tube while you wait for disassembly videos, whilst your on there if you are not already familiar have a shufti at Bada Bings mws stuff, before you ask about green gas mod's some say V2 mags don't need them, I say its cheap to revert if you are not happy so try one first additionally Six G gunsmithing (six g nub) is a one man band, be patient for a reply and if you can't wait do the biro mod!

Here you go mate, majority of all your questions distilled down into an easy to read doc. (Note- Not created by me) just for this occasion. https://docs.google.com/document/d/10RLbvPbq-HXDayhcAIPHgoSTcFIcd3Q5PKZc288_tL0/edit?usp=drivesdk. I do suggest that you read through the 160 pages though, there is a ton of answers to questions you haven't thought of yet and may save you some dollar!

True, but I've got my 45mm grouping to beat!
-
Well, I have a rifle clamp (home made), a laser tape measure, a 20m range, a six g nub, a standard nub, a standard 250mm barrel, a modify tan, standard TM, ml Autobot 60°, ml Mr hop rubber, some Geoff's 0.30g bb's and some spare time... ... Cue the music.
-
I'm currently going through a trial period for accuracy on my mws going through the various hop rubber combinations, my barrel is the standard 250mm and my nub is the super six g, I currently have the maple leaf Autobot 60 degree bucking which is giving great accuracy at 20 metres I've not been able to test it at a greater range due to lockdowns, apparently this will not allow for accuracy at greater range so I have ordered a maple leaf Mr hop rubber. Has anybody had experience with this combination with regards to range and accuracy.

I filled mine full to the brim with mapp gas which is the equivalent (propylene?) And put a drop of abbey silicone oil on the fill valve and leave for about an hour before storing. I check there capacity by weighing them every now and again and thus far (2 months) they haven't lost a drop!
-
What's the difference you can see between mapp and guarder black please? Also where do you get said guarder gas from? Cheers
-
if I remember rightly this was on the forum a few months back, basically take a grub screw and drill and screw through the centre of your rocket valve. wind it in and out to adjust FPS. If it helps to find it I replied, so look through my page as it were to find my reply, to find the post.
-
Have you tried the lighter Tm weight from the original bolt carrier as it's even lighter for even more cold weather ability.?
-
If I recall correctly it was shooting around 390- 400 on mapp gas which runs a few FPS more than green.
-
I have the GnP nozzle set as a back up seems to run fine for the test I did but quite hot.
-
Now then MWS tribe, Can anybody share any experience that they've had with this particular part as I'm thinking of swapping out the original as I'm still not happy with my bolt lock reliability. I'm going to wait to buy the ag maritime bolt catch before fighting with the trigger box removal again (someone please tell me that gets easier) as I plan on doing both in a one-year. Cheers crew! Using hao lightweight bolt TM weight and GnP buffer (empty) on mapp gas now. Did you get a lightweight bolts top plate to try? http://www.gunsmodify.com/news/detail-id-59.html

Nope I'm not the author but it was me!!!

Tokyo Marui MWS Owners Guide.docx Right folks if nobody minds, to head off the usual questions and to give the new guys and gals a headstart I've downloaded the mws owners guide - I'm not attempting to claim ownership of it (I forget who took the time to write it - thank you for that) but I will share it with them to condense they're reading time as it was intended.
-
Here you go, this is the short version of the whole thread (I didn't write this I've just copied the link) https://drive.google.com/file/d/1oSn244-RKmPUclCWhX20xWf4rl-YJbeG/view?usp=drivesdk

I believe there is an upgrade Google Doc on this thread with all the common upgrades/options if you have a little search for it. If you can't find it give me a shout and I'll try and find the link. Welcome to the party. I'll keep you posted Dave as soon as lockdown does one, next game for me is the 5th at adrenaline Airsoft near Richmond north yorks but I may be able to borrow a field before then. My general impressions of the Autobot on a standard TM 'two-fiddy' is that as has been mentioned previously somewhere the diamond mound/patch? Sits tight to the start of the barrel, almost flush with it. Additionally it is very easy to clean (probably due to the lemon colour) as I run a cotton bud (q tip for our colonial brethren) over the mound to remove all the propane gunk off of it. Rapid groups at that range spread to 100mm but a carefully shoot group is around 40 - 60mm in no wind with the rif clamped in a home made Frame using a very lightweight hao bolt TM weight and GnP buffer weighing in at 146g which kept recoil to a bare minimum.
-
So, the Autobot 60° seems to have done a damn fine job coupled with a six g nub. 40mm groups!!! Rifle was clamped the whole shoot and the very first group shot is the one with the black ring round it. Range is 20 metres, black painted patch is 50mm square, bb's Geoff's naturals black in. 3g flavour, propellant is Mapp gas and she's shooting around 300fps with three clicks of hop. Now all I've got to do is sort out my bolt-lock again as the lube I'm using in 8° c makes it move up sluggishly causing the bolt to miss.
