  2. ^ This 👍 I had to take a file to mine and open up the barrel window as Dave suggests. Very easy to do. Just go slow and check the fit frequently.

  4. Nice! I love the GHK AK. It’s the most satisfying gun to shoot. Good work with the various steel upgrades. I have all the internal Hephaestus parts but none of them yet fitted (I figured I’d wait until something breaks then swap out all of the original parts in one go).
  5. Cheers bud. Yeah, you should be good once the barrel nut is tightened. The gap on mine is approx 1mm. I could probably get it sitting flush if I cranked the nut even further, but it’s fine as is (for reference a slight gap between rail and receiver is very common in real steel builds too). Yeah it’s probably my favourite 🙂 The Fortis rail was a PITA to fit, but I eventually got it pretty much perfect after much swearing and coffee. The sound hog amplifier sits nicely inside the hand guard and adds a noticeable ‘pop’ when shooting, especially indoors. FDE colour coordination is mostly due to sticking with Magpul, although the Ace 1 Arms PMAG is a really good match.
  6. I do love GBBRs 🙂 Details of the M4 builds can be found in the MWS mega thread... Same AK as above, but with suppressor and 5.56/.223-style mag...

  8. Update: AFAIK, all shipping to UK is now suspended until end of January (apart from food, medicine and other essentials). Just had this confirmed by two retailers in Hong Kong, one in Russia and others across Europe. I assume US also. Apparently due to new Covid restrictions relating to UK. Likewise, post from UK to overseas destinations is also on hold.
  9. I’ve just received delivery of an item purchased from the US. Expected delivery time was 5 days. It took 32 days to arrive at my door due to significant delays with Customs checks, brought on by ports/airports and international couriers currently in chaos prepping for Brexit. If you’re thinking of order from overseas, I would certainly a) avoid the Christmas rush and wait until New Year before ordering; and b) be prepared to wait much, much longer for your item to arrive (and accept all the risks of loss and damage that come with that). Brexit isn’t only about price hikes on imports (from the EU). It’s about our borders being a hot mess for a long while to come. Enjoy that sovereign tea, eh ☕️
  10. Cool. Meant to be a very good grip by all accounts. Should drop right in to the MWS. PS: edit to add that I think Magpul also make a similar product. It might be called the MIAD (?). I could be wrong, but worth a quick Google.
  11. Ouch! If it's any consolation I did the same to mine when replacing the trigger guard, albeit not quite so spectacularly (I broke off just one of the tabs). From Googling at the time, it seems to be a fairly common occurrence in the real steel world - the tabs on the M4/AR-15 platform being something of a design flaw that you need to be extra careful around. In my case I was able to Gorilla-glue the broken tab back on and it's rock solid with just a hairline crack; barely noticeable. Adds character 😉 You might be able to glue yours? Could be worth a shot and nothing to lose by trying. An alternative solution that's often recommended for AR-15s is to fit a Daniel Defense pistol grip with oversized trigger guard (or similar product). One of these:
  12. Good question. Personally, I use the DP Enhanced Nozzle Spring Set which is reportedly "more durable", but doesn’t specify any kind of % in terms of spring resistance. I bought it 'on a whim' whilst ordering some other parts (my stock TM spring was still fine at the time) and I've been running it for I think two years now on green gas all year round. No issues. There's also the GunsModify 150% Nozzle Reset Spring Set, which I think may be a newer product (?). No experience of using it myself. 150% seems like perhaps a little too much increase in spring tension for regular use all year, but I dunno. Perhaps the DP set (above) has a similar tension, it's just not stated. Lastly, there the Watermelon Hard Nozzle Spring which I think has a 300% tension. I don't think you'd want to be using that as standard. Bear in mind that the stock TM spring seems perfectly durable in most cases. I have mates who haven't swapped out the nozzle spring for 3-4 years, run green gas all year and haven't had any problems. It seems to be one of those stories that got mentioned on a forum somewhere and has grown legs, so that now everyone believes the MWS nozzle springs are made from cheese 🙂 Hope that helps and I'm sure others here will have more to add.
  13. I like that! Nice simplicity to it. I'd personally leave the stock black, but YMMV 🙂 So as a quick follow-up I can now confirm that: The Magpul trigger guards do fit the MWS, but only after a wee bit of filing down in places (this applies to the aluminium guard; the plastic version might be a less 'fettly' fit). A snapped trigger guard tab can be easily and quite convincingly repaired using Gorilla Glue, following some initial and copious swearing 🙄 (damn those things are brittle!).
  14. ^ Sorted. That’s good to know. Cheers! 🍺
  15. Thanks Dave! Sorry to be an incessant sod, but can you clarify what you mean by "tuning"? E.g. did you have to widen the pin punch holes on the MWS to fit the Magpul pin and screw, something like that?
  16. Quick question: anyone know whether the Magpul trigger guards are compatible with the MWS? 🤔 E.g. the Magpul enhanced (aluminium) or plastic MOE trigger guards. Thanks.
  17. I have one of these. Works flawlessly as far as I can tell. I’ve yet to test it fully during a game day, but I’ve fired a few hundred BBs with it and seems to function exactly the same as the stock Marui BCG. I bought mine from Airsoft Global. Great service and fast shipping. I opted for the silver version, but they also stock regular black and blingy gold. http://www.airsoftglobal.com/shop/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=570_647&products_id=31660
  18. Do you have link to the info on that? (just curious). I’m less excited by the MK18 myself… I’m sure it’ll be great, but it’s an easy build based on just the stock M4 MWS with some good after-market MK18 handguards out there (I guess accounting for the estimated price-hike from the stock MWS). I am however very excited about the prospect of a Marui GBBR AK I own a GHK AK (also great), but the idea of Marui adding some of their own magic to the platform should be cool. More GBBR AKs can only be a good thing.
  19. Fire Support still have a bunch of the P-Mag style (polymer) Iron Airsoft MWS mags in stock: https://www.fire-support.co.uk/product/iron-airsoft-mws-block1-gbbr-black-magazine-39-rnds About a tenner more than regular TM mags, but they look damn slick, hold a few more BBs and seem to work well - at least so far for me (I bought one just for looks and have been using it for plinking during lockdown; no problems at all).
  20. Quick question... I'm currently eyeing up the Z-Parts MK16 M-Lok 13.5 inch Rail, which I think is the longer cousin of the one shown below (if not, it's very similar to it). It's advertised as being designed specifically for the TM MWS GBBR and comes with its own barrel nut. I assume that means it's an easy fit right out of the box? I.e. no fettling and f****** around required? Or am I being overly optimistic as usual? 🙄
  21. Don't worry Dave, I have another one - exactly the same spec 😁 PS: the above listing is now sold. Which means another member of the MWS clan is now incoming...
  22. Lads, I have an MWS for sale over in Classifieds... Never gamed and pristine set up. Wasn't sure on how to price it given the upgrades? So posting here for any advice on that (suggestions very welcome). Sad to let it go, but I have another MWS that I use for regular skirmishing (same set of upgrades) and this one isn't going to get fielded anytime soon, so thought it best go to someone who's going to give it a proper outing 💥 🔫 PS: I also have a bunch of MWS spare parts that I'm going to list soon...
  23. Great new video from @Bada Bing on the MWS platform 'four years later'. Love this guy's content 👍
  24. No disrespect to the seller, but those mags look like they've been thrown around the block, quite literally! (but heh, the advert is very honest about it, so fair enough I suppose - what you see is what you get). Personally I'd buy new once they're in stock at Fire Support or elsewhere. John at Fire Support did a great job of "green gas modding" a bunch of MWS mags for me a little while ago as part of another job; might be worth enquiring about that if - like me - you're not keen on DIY-ing that particular job.
  25. I lube the entire bolt carrier group (and every other moving part on my MWS) with Wurth dry chain lube, as recommended on the first page of this thread. It's easy to apply, relatively cheap/easy to buy and seems to work great. I imagine any other PTFE (Teflon) spray would work equally as well. Can't comment on the cycling problem with the Angry Gun nozzle/carrier set. I use an Angry Gun High Speed bolt carrier myself and that works a treat. But that's not very useful to know in this situation, sorry! As for mag maintenance, there's nothing specific that I'm aware of, other than the usual good practice of keeping some gas in the mags between skirmishes. General rule seems to be if they're not leaking, leave them alone. I asked a similar question about long-term storage of MWS mags, which you can read here if you're interested.
