@UKCYukarin Aww man, the one on Gunfire was my fail safe if I couldn't find an upper haha, it isn't going my way. @Fissure Yeah a friend of mine re-threaded the lower so the lower is pretty much done for now. The filing needed for the trigger guard was fairly minimal but I did the filing on the lower instead of on the trigger guard. And about the barrel nut, I doubt it really, I'm definitely not going to try anyways (not that I have an upper to screw my barrel nut onto). What I did just finish though is re-threading my outer barrel extension to fit RS flash hiders :D. Took about 45-60 minutes to re-thread, slow and steady is the way to go and a lot of oil, a lot of it! The only annoying part is actually making sure the extension can not move in the vice and getting the thread started, fairly annoying keeping it straight at the start but once you actually start re-threading it centers itself. Just need to re-coat the extension. *EDIT* Added 2 pics of what it could look like, if it wasn't borked! *EDIT*

@rocketdogbert Sweet DS2011, just sold my black SAI DS2011, I'm going all in with custom Glocks instead -
Disaster struck for the upper, got refunded because the seller can not deliver...going to have to go another route now unfortunately. Good news for my lower though, that is now finally completed because I finally got in my detent pin for the safety . Testing it like this it seems to all function properly but can not do any actual tests until the RIF is complete again. Also bought a Strike Industries Flat Wire Spring for fun, probably have to shorten it a bit though because it's clearly too strong of a spring for a GBBR but that was to be expected. *EDIT* Found an upper in stock in Spain!!! But wait, they don't ship to the Netherlands 🤣 Just wonderful. *EDIT*

Starting to get a bit worried about getting a new upper Delivery date for my order on eBay shifted to around the 14th of June. Doubt they actually have it in stock so if I don't hear anything by next week I will cancel it and refund it. Not sure where else to check as I think I checked pretty much every webshop in Europe, Asia and even the US just to make sure. As much as I love the MWS, sometimes I wish I would have just gone with the GHK because I find it ridiculous spare parts from such a large brand are pretty much unobtainable. Not sure what way to go at the moment. /rant!

@RobHedley Gasblock looks great man! Must say you do need some irons though, your rail looks naked 😉. Still awaiting my gasblock from Strike Industries (obviously). Shame I don’t have a RIF to put it on at the moment...
-
@Lozart I have seen that yes, shame I don't really need all the stuff that comes with it, at most I'd use the upper and lower, not really digging the rest I must say. Plus I'd be stuck with almost a complete set of Strike Industries stuff I don't have a use for. Also the price, I can get 2 MWS' for that money 🤣.
-
Thanks for the compassion lads, much appreciated! 🤣 Worst case scenario I might have to get either A) a new MWS (anyone need spares? 😀) or B) a 600-700 euro CNC aluminum receiver set... Both are not optimal but I do eventually want a working MWS again. So far everything is looking good with the purchase I made on eBay, payment went through and no message that it isn't in stock so let's pray to god it's here soon.

Bought 2 weeks ago but finally arrived, my Ready Fighter Loki Tactical Neo RMR slide for my TM G18c! After a terrible day yesterday, today is a good day 😀 -
@RobHedley I rather you don't ask...🤣 still makes me feel bad. But in all seriousness, I think my bev block wasn't inserted correctly when I torqued down the barrel nut. Perhaps in combination with a weaker than average upper?? I am not entirely sure but I am sure I did not put too much stress on it. I had another MWS before this and I actually torqued the barrel nut down without a bev block and there was no problem. Sucks but as long as I can manage to get a new upper...shit happens.

Finally got around to installing the SI Advanced Buffertube with the Multi-Function Endplate & Anti-rotation Castle nut, looking sweet. Shame my day is still terrible as my upper receiver broke 😥. Might have sourced one from Italy but awaiting a tracking number to be able to sleep tonight (so basically no sleep tonight as I obviously will not get one on Sunday evening). Really hope it works out because that was literally the only place on the world wide web I could find that had them in stock, although nowadays a website saying in stock doesn't mean a whole lot...
-
@Crazy_Crystal Cheers, sent them an email, fingers crossed!
-
Just wondering, but do any of you guys have a "spare" MWS upper or know a place where they are in stock?
-
Finally got around to installing the Fang Billet trigger guard, for which I had to file a bit of the lower down, both near the magwell and the grip. I am aware the screw on the other side isn't fully threaded in yet, I don't actually have the right size torx screwdriver handy at the moment, will get one tomorrow though so all's well!

@Delgado900 & @Resistor170 It is indeed an MTM 6 pistol case. Not sure where in the UK it's available though, bought it in the Netherlands. The foam is pretty malleable and because there is some space on all 4 sides you can push most stuff in fairly comfortable. However if you'd put in 6 pistols that are on the larger side you might end up really having to jam them into it. -

A nice little place to put my pistols! -
@rocketdogbert Perhaps I’m a fool but I still don’t exactly understand what you did to your barrel nut. Care to elaborate, step by step and the materials used?
-
@RoninHun Must get one of those aswell then, all for the tacticool. Saw them for 33€ at Brownells Germany

@Fissure Bringing my upper, outer barrel extension and buffer tube to a gun shop near me, they can re-thread anything basically, at a hefty price I must say. It will be approximately 90 euro's per item to be re-threaded, so 270 euro's (which would be around 230-240 pounds). Could probably get it done cheaper at a metalworking shop but here in the Netherlands if they see anything resembling something of pure evil like a RIF, they will probably call the cops without question's asked. So yeah, my MWS will be a really expensive plinker 🤣.

@Fissure Probably easier to sum it up from the parts I have purchased: Strike Industries: Trigger guard / SI Fang: Can be made to fit, although I haven't started with that yet. Probably can force it to fit aswell but after what happened with the safetely selector, I'm a bit more careful. Takedown Pins: Do fit without modification, must use the original SI detentpins though. Buffertube: Is milspec and does not fit, either the buffertube or the upper must be re-threaded. Flash hider: Real steel threads, advice is to get a outerbarrel extension to get that re-threaded so you do not lose your 14mm ccw on your original outer barrel. Foregrip: Milspec m-lok, fits the SI rail obviously and will fit any rail aslong as the m-lok uses the proper dimensions. Rail / barrelnut: The rail itself lines up with the upper perfectly, the upper needs re-threading for the barrelnut though. Safety selector: Does not fit, also do not attempt to fit it. You will need to hammer it out as it will lock itself in there. So far I have only damaged the detent pin but my trigger was sligthly bent aswell (managed to restore that no problem though). Stock: Fits perfectly on the SI advanced buffertube, I just returned it because my frame (as in my body) is too big for such a small (it's really small) stock. Anti-walk/rotation pins: Will not fit as the pins in the MWS are fake. Multifunction endplate and anti rotation castle nut: Fit a milspec buffertube, see the buffertube. Ultimate Dust Cover: The dust cover itself fits, but cannot close due to the ejection port on the MWS being too small, can't really be modded. Aslong as you leave it open it's not a problem (unless you think otherwise). Magazine release: The mag release button fits on the MWS lever, which is what I'd suggest doing. The SI lever has to be filed down too much to be reliable in the longer term, wouldn't surprise it would break sooner or later after filing it down. Bolt catch: Will not fit and can't really be made to fit as the MWS has a proprietary system which simply doesn't work with a real steel one. *EDIT* Forward assist: Must be filed down to fit, will lose the MWS' original option of it actually functioning though. * EDIT* MagPul: Pistolgrip / MIAD 1.1: Fits like a glove, must use the original MWS screw though. MFT: Stock: Fits perfectly on the MWS original buffertube, very slight movement on the SI advanced buffertube. Think that sums everything up. All in all, to fit real steel you'd probably be better off with a GHK or WE 🤣.
-
@hunter511 As with most things, no it’s not unfortunately. Fitment itself is perfect but it can not close properly because the TM ejection port is slightly smaller than a real AR-15. Personally I don’t really mind this as it’s basically never closed anyways. It does fit fine on my GHK though so if it starts to bother me I will put it on there.
-
The selector and bolt catch will not fit. Me trying to fit the selector was what broke my detent pin, as I forcefully had to hammer it out🤣. The takedown pins I have do fit and the trigger guard had to be atleast filed down to fit. EDIT: The takedown pins I have are part of the lower receiver parts set (https://www.strikeindustries.com/shop/products/ar/lower-parts-kit/ar-enhanced-lower-receiver-parts-with-trigger-hammer-and-disconnector.html). Most of it doesn't fit though so pretty useless purchase. The magazine release can also be made to work with some filing down but I chose to use the SI button with the original lever, works perfect!
-
@Fissure The flash hider does not fit as it’s a real steel flash hider (like all the other Strike stuff). I knew this beforehand in this case though, same with the rail. For the flash hider I’m getting a Madbull 2” barrel extension modified (from 14mm ccw to 1/2”x28 if I remember correctly).
-
@rocketdogbert Cheers man, have already found a shop in the Netherlands to re-thread it though, probably a little bit more cost efficient considering it'd have to be shipped overseas twice @Fissure All the Strike Industries parts are bought in Poland, at Specshop.pl (which is a wonderful store, will throw up a review in the coming days). Pretty much the only store that has a decent selection of Strike Industries parts. Other than that they have a bunch of MagPul stuff as well and wide variety of both real and airsoft accessories. Must say I have returned the Pit Viper Stock and the Anti-Walk Pins. The stock was too small for my frame and the pins can not be fitted to the MWS. Getting an adapter made for the real flashhider at the same store that's going to re-thread the buffertube. They will also re-thread the upper for the rail while they are at it. The Iron Airsoft trigger is installed but I accidentally broke something so I am going to have to wait for the replacement part (which at the moment I could only find in Japan at Impulse101) to continue. Doesn't really matter because all the re-threading work won't be done for the next three weeks so updates will be scarce unfortunetely...Guess I will have to start fiddling with the new build for my GHK M4(if I am allowed to say so here in the MWS forum 🤣). Internally I have installed the tan bucking, SixG super nub and the Prommy inner barrel but seeing as someone broke something in my MWS, I haven't been able to test it yet... EDIT: picture of the trigger housing, broke the detent for the safety selector. Flat face trigger looks sweet though!
-
Yeah sorry, that is indeed what I meant. Most stuff needs a little filing to fit but the buffer tube won’t fit at all unfortunately.
-
It has finally arrived! Small edit: Didn't know the MWS couldn't take real buffertubes Any way around this?
