    CTCSS Just sets a squelch tone to send your transmission, it can still be listened to you just can't transmit unless you have the same tone, but even then some devices can show you the tone that transmission is set to

    Just to check, you are under yours or your teams ofcom business licence, correct? As both the radios you mentioned are 2m/70cm Both these radios operate on the same bands, the issue will be your antenna if you're having issues with range, not the radio
