  1. For an in game device, I would need a lot of convincing before I would allow a drone or RC aircraft to be running something that would shoot people. I would also be inclined to have that operated by selected people - not in the hands of players. There will be many issues in a game environment with H&S regulations, site insurance, etc before you consider the rules of use We’ve operated: drones (controlled by our drone pilot) and used them for filming and for players to watch live streamed footage in a suitcase full of screens an RC truck that carries pyros plus a normal camera and an infra red camera - this we have either operated ourselves to harass players or handed control to players along with the suitcase Pyros can be any combination of smoke or bangs and set off remotely from the suitcase (or from remote controls in our pockets) a sentry gun - this runs all by itself and selects targets via its AI, either anything that looks like a suitable target (person shape or ball shape due to the methods we’ve used in ‘training’ of the AI and approval / rejection of targets), it could also include colours into the mix when on the daylight camera. This doesn’t hesitate, so we permit it’s use only with Marshall’s on hand to dive on a fallen player and flip any of the kill switches. An aircraft that shoots has various problems when people are on the ground - there’s the issue of crashing, the problem of stopping shooting and also camera lag. If it’s ‘lightweight’ then it can easily become unstable, lose control and drop fast from being shot down. If it’s a more serious aircraft then it’s less susceptible to being shot down but will hit hard and rotors can cut skin If it’s a drone then when it goes down it will come down like a brick, if it’s an RC plane then it could ‘glide’ which gives a degree of warning if you’re looking in its direction There could be scope for the novelty of a shooting aircraft for an non game environment or for RC vs RC dog fights, but some experience and a controlled area will be needed
  2. I don’t think this is recessed, but the Dye Dam is rifle sized with a tech mat to suit: https://moderncombatsports.co.uk/products/dye-tech-mat-paintball-mat Other gun styles are available in tech mats: https://www.amazon.co.uk/s?k=TekMat&ref=bl_dp_s_mw_4230495031 I have an eclipse mat which I think is the one @Speedbird_666linked, It’s quite sizeable but I’m a paintballer and it’s smaller than rifle sizes. However as I bought this one under lockdown it’s been used for a complete rebuild one 90s paintball pistol and for some arduino gadget construction. I have a good sized roll of some decent rubber mat that I’ve used for gun works - but most often the surface I use is just the most convenient place with some allowance for minimising flying springs and laying out nuts and bolts near to where they came out These might blow @Super64away...
  3. He has counted the cup rings (he said he has OCD) But I’ll guess that extra mild OCD allows for a week of mess that’s cleaned up on Friday
  4. When paintball started to move to compressed air regulators began at approx 850psi CO2 does vary by temperature though, so in the region of 850 is I think at ‘room’ temperature and it will get lower in the cold and higher in the heat - so 900-1000 is probably a fair call
  5. Personally I wouldn’t - but the ‘real’ thing comes from Hong Kong and China. A difference is build quality - it could come from the same factory, but tolerances and quality can vary. A smaller commercial customer will be buying off the shelf and expect some standards, a larger commercial customer could be enforcing quality control and the odd one may get their own factory out there to maintain full control. Buying directly you could be getting the same thing without the logo, or you could be getting a lesser quality equivalent If you are familiar and confident with CO2 or HPA and you know what pressures you’re dealing with then it can be considered. What is going to fail and how will it affect you? An HPA cylinders own integral regulator will normally output in the hundreds of PSI, probably at most 650psi these days but could be 850psi which was first used in paintball as the equivalent to output or the gaseous state of CO2 cylinders at around 850psi
  6. That wear isn’t a problem in itself. The metal of the male nipple is softer than the metal BBs in the female socket. ((Unless of course it gets so bad that the connectors don’t match properly)) This would replace your socket https://palmerspursuit.com/products/female-disconnect-to-1-8-npt-foster But there may still be just a small o-ring inside the female socket causing the problem. If it’s still in situ then consider a little grease or oil* on it to help the seal. It will be the one at about 0:30 in the video below * not WD40 etc as it could eat the o-ring and make the problem worse. Ideally use something silicone based. Noting that oil and high pressure air should not be mixed. Keep oils away from the 3000psi inputs of the cylinder as that risks contamination inside and a potentially very nasty flash fill failure accident Output pressures can have appropriate lubrication on the fittings
  7. There are a few remote line options, but not many listing the parts: Just have the slide check on it’s own: (without the male/female connector) https://www.justpaintball.co.uk/products/ninja-slide-check-valve?_pos=1&_sid=6258831b9&_ss=r If you search ‘remote’ on them all it will give you some choices, a few of the ‘better’ brands are over your £40, but there are others below. https://shop.super5ives.com https://www.bzpaintball.co.uk/catalogsearch/result/?q=Remote You can also get slide checks via eBay, but I would be wary of them on build quality - it was common to get a tiny bit of burring inside the slide which would cut the o-ring and leak. Beware of accidentally getting a ProConnect style connection. This is a better system that self seals on disconnection but uses a totally different type male nipple - you could convert if you wanted to but it’s a big long fitting at risk of damage. Is your leak at the final connector or the slide check? If at the slide check then it will be an o-ring. But I’m guessing from your post that it’s at the final connection. That has a slight possibility of being an o-ring inside the female, but is most likely to be wear & need replacing. If you call the above retailers then they can probably sort you for the component parts even when it’s not listed. If you’re getting nowhere then I’d recommend importing via Palmers rather than random ebays etc : https://palmerspursuit.com
  8. Some airsoft retailers, and definitely paintball retailers, a few did have the component parts ... I’ll have a look around in a minute ....
  9. That style isn’t hard to do - but I’m not sure on how it’s reflected in cost. It’s shop display fittings I know that it’s available in white and black, with white making things more visual Edited to add - it’s ‘slatwall’
  10. Yes, from the original ‘advertising’ I’d think most sites would pick it out as being unusual and then identify that it doesn’t have any approved markings etc but with the front view photo I’m more reassured that it wouldn’t pass muster from being seen by any proper site
  11. Actually probably a good thing. Sites are more likely to say no to players turning up in them. With that much gap I would hope that sites require people to use it as a helmet and wear glasses style eye protection underneath
  12. Or not, when someone has an accident, he blocks them and somebody tries to make a case against a random bloke on Facebook with an online phone ‘business’. Even when going to court: ”I bought a random unmarked helmet without any safety markings and tried to use them in airsoft” Has he publicly given details of his testing or just made the odd remark in messages before blocking people ? The only real avenue with any teeth would be trading standards if he’s anywhere near their radar, alternatively keep reporting him to the Facebook groups he’s advertising on
  13. .... and it varies between territories. Their laws have been reinforced due to a series of shootings, and the matter of replicas is a combination of replica specific and the knock on effect of the wording in firearms legislation. Contrary to some of the headlines with the recent gel blaster situation it’s not just the law being heavy handed. Certain importers knowingly ignored the law and imported & sold replica gel blasters, whereas there were also legal routes that they could have taken In the UK we also have some BB and gel blaster retailers ignoring the law
  14. @Mancave Camoform tape is the safest option It is non sticky and only grips itself Camoform is a specific brand aimed at people who want to camouflage stuff, but the material is cohesive bandage, commonly used as vet wrap, and is available in numerous colours and patterns including camouflage styles. If you have a decent sized ‘country’ shop then the vet wrap option is normally a lot cheaper than camp form (( even cheaper when free from a friendly vet ))
  15. .... an addendum: My mother with my fathers tactical nuke: Strategic nuke:
  16. Possession is fine. Retailers want your UKARA details to protect them from a fine under the VCRA. Under the VCRA you have ‘modified’ an IF into a RIF. Nobody will know unless you tell them, but if your intent is to play airsoft skirmishing at insured sites then you are in compliance with the intent of the law.
  17. Though his eye protection didn’t fail, he took it off Ants really good at coping, you’d never notice on TV that he’s blind in both eyes
  18. As above - report Airsoft eye protection standards worry me. In practical terms all you have is an impact standard, reinforced only by what sites let though their door. I respect that it’s your own problem if you don’t want to wear full face, but I despair over the gaps around people’s eyes with some - even when there are attempts to use face guards etc With regard to impact testing check out this updated video of FMA lenses against old and new lenses to the correct standards: (Noting that paintballs are bigger & heavier but contain liquid and break on impact which absorbs some energy - airsoft BBs are smaller and lighter but are solid and focus the energy on a small impact area) Regarding the large visor style lens and the vast amount of space for a BB to get inside around the lens there was a design of ‘Angel Eyes’ goggles which have had a few attempts to get past standards approval under some other brands. These are based on an almost full face lens and don’t have the snow goggle style foam sealing the area around the eyes. They will never pass paintball goggle standards due to that. (Note that in the second photo I was given the Angel Eye prototype to try on and was attempting a little bit of subminal advertising by reflecting an event flier in the lens. The concept of ‘subliminal’ was lost on a certain person in the background)
  19. I hope that ‘your armoury’ refers to ‘your armoury at work’ and not ‘your armoury in the garage containing the mountains of bangy ‘kit’ acquired via years in the infantry ....... and on another tack ....... My dad used to keep back the Russian hordes with nuclear missiles but wouldn’t let me play with them. In later years I would be given loads of old kit by the QMs etc when hanging around the offices and warehouses. He’s the one bulling his boots and my mothers the one holding the front bumper of one of their missile launchers.
  20. You should post in the wanted section of classifieds : https://airsoft-forums.uk/classifieds/
  21. UK VAT / equivalent import VAT will be due. Import duty applies to certain categories, and shouldn’t affect you on sales under £135 Carrier fees apply if they handle the import VAT/duty Listings on foreign sites won’t normally show UK VAT, but some sellers might display that if you set the page to show GBP pricing. For sales under £135 the foreign retailer is now encouraged to register with HMRC, you then get UK VAT shown on your invoice and pay the retailer that 20% for them to pay HMRC. You don’t pay any extra on arrival If the seller doesn’t, or it is over £135 then they only charge you for the goods and postage. On arrival in the UK the carrier bills you for VAT, duty if applicable and handling fees. Some packages may come through untouched The cheapest situation is when the carrier misses it The next cheapest situation is when the foreign retailer handles VAT for you
  22. The ‘further information’ might relate to the difference between a sale and a warranty repair. They still need to show declarations and must highlight that it is a warranty job not a sale. It might not be clear on the package that it’s a warranty job, so UPS / customs are after the invoice for valuation etc
  23. You should remove those parts, and will get the best results that way You can get away with masking specific areas, but it can quickly go horribly wrong if the tape lets some get in at the edge or you miss a hole or slot somewhere
