All items are accurate and really well made with care. These items have been kept in a clean environment inside zipped up bags since purchase they have not seen use or wear, the reason I am selling them is I am no longer interested in reenacting this period and I want to free up space in my collection. I have an A&K M249 Para. When it feeds it's great fun, but it is a heavy beast to lug about. Unlike the average carbine/rifle, there is NO point in chasing ultimate accuracy or rate of fire; the whole point of the things is to lay down a field of suppressing fire. The main thing to concentrate on is a) does it feed, and b) do I have the strength/stamina/sheer bloody-mindedness to lug it about all day.

Chest rigs with rear carry capacity
Lozart replied to Gunboat Diplomat's topic in Guns, Gear & Loadouts
I have the 901 with a back panel, and yes, it has ALL the capacity. All I would say is that while it is a chest rig, it is quite well padded and can still be quite bulky and sweaty (despite having "spacer mesh" type backing). Most of the Spiritus Mk3 or 4 or the Haley DC3R type chest rigs will let you attach it to a MAP style assault pack (there's loads of knock offs floating around). The pack straps basically replace the chest rig straps. Alternatively, take a look at the WTF stuff. They started out making tacticool gear for paintball so they have a number of air tanks specific pouches and packs (including a 13ci pouch that will sit horizintally on your belt if you want to get shot of the backpack completely). They do a range of modular chest rigs, and having used their gear, I would vouch for it over Chinese Spiritus clones! https://www.wtfidea.com/air-tank-pouches/ -

If you can't find a taper barrel the right length, you could try one of these: https://www.firesupport.uk/gp-taper-outer-barrel-adaptor-for-aeg.html and a regular barrel.

Shooters Designs TM G18C. *this has been made with a number of Gucci and discontinued expensive parts, such as the slide and sights.* Flawlessly working. Shooters designs G18C kit Guarder lightweight BBU Guns modify V2 nozzle Guns modify piston head DP stainless body pins Guarder new gen steel lower Guarder extended stainless slide catch TTI g18c hammer internals Fowler industries trigger PTS FREYA Magwell CCT guide rod Hybrid tritium sights Guarder hop unit and barrel Maple leaf i bar AM steel hop arm ML hop rubber Would sell with one TM V2 mag as well. It’s over £600 in parts. Was built from scratch, so all parts are aftermarket and more robust than OEM. the steel internals would give you great longevity if using CO2 or HPA. £415 all in. The shooters designs slide comes from an era where glock slides were made to the same standard as new AM and GSB hicapa slides… they’re flawless. Many if not all paintball type lenses (at least when sold as a replacement) have a peel off protective layer (maybe inside and outside), which is often left on including those who should know better At tournaments in the ‘upper’ leagues I have often seen players complaining about their new lenses until a team mate points out the inner layer My problem is the opposite - buying new shiney mirrored lenses from the traders at a tournament, then fitting them straight away and instantly destroying the mirror layer with my camera instead of leaving them for gameplay Some dual panes can have their antifog seal beak down changing them to fog creators, if it’s a ‘thick film’ type inner pane then one solution is to peel away the inner pane —- but if that’s happened it’s probably about time to replace anyway I would be wary of cutting the inner foam, it is a component part of the eye protection seal, and though it would be rare BBs can arrive in strange directions. (I’ve not seen with full face, but I have seen marshals take a BB into the eye area of glasses and small goggles (luckily with all the energy absorbed bouncing along the way) In theory a sealed face area around the eyes can be the cause of sweaty fogging, therefore more airflow could reduce that But I would repeat the advice of cat crap and other anti fog solutions on both the inner pane and on glasses (Note that once you put treatments onto the lens you also reduce the effectiveness of any manufacture antifog coating

The 'How Did Your Airsoft Day Go? Thread
Gunboat Diplomat replied to Skara's topic in General Discussion
This one is a week late as it was last Sunday that me and the boy visited the Gaol in Oakham. With news of their precarious future I rushed to get a booking in for November, fortunate that I did since most (if not all by now) of their remaining dates for 2025 are full. It has always been on our list, but the common refrain of ‘we should go there one day’ meant we never got round to it. We arrived later than planned due to bad planning and the place was packed as it was a sell out day. Nonetheless we found a space to set up and the staging area (in what I assume are the old administrative buildings of the prison) are well equipped, even if they do look like the backdrop to a public information film from the 80s. The games started with by far the longest briefing of any airsoft site I’ve been to. As it was my first visit I didn’t mind too much but I could imagine as a regular it would drag. Still it must work for them as the general conduct of play was some of the best I’ve experienced and everyone whether new or regular knew what they were doing. I’m not a snooty mil-simmer, but everyone knowing the basics of cover, movement and controlled fire really helped to sell the immersion when sweeping through corridors and clearing rooms. Mix of games revolving around moving and static objectives were played. I won’t describe them in detail as it never comes across as well in text, but I will say that the Gaol is a really challenging site. Most airsoft games tend to be won by force of will as much as by tactics, with the most aggressive play usually resulting in the win, but the Goal requires a lot more planning and coordination. There are a myriad of routes around the site and in and out of buildings, some incredibly hard to breach defensive positions and a maze of corridors to navigate. Ambush, flanking and friendly-fire are all likely, sometimes simultaneously. The skill ceiling is sometimes pretty low for airsoft sites, but I think the Goal would encourage you to become a much better player as a regular. I took my Ghetto Blaster which ran flawlessly despite being chilly, switching to my backup M906 in the afternoon just because I’d charged the batteries I didn’t want to bring them home full. The boy brought the £20 boneyard Double Eagle (that’s now 4 Double Eagle products we own!) shotgun I bought him a couple of days earlier - surprising it ran like a champ all day and now seems to be his new favourite. -
I'm planning a build based on the Munition Works Fixie LT. I'm using a G&P as a base that uses the tapered fitting for the outer barrel which already limits my options. The tricky part is that the magpul handguard I want to use requires a barrel with a mid length gas system in order to fit (yes I know there's a carbine length version of the same handguard, I prefer the look of the longer one). I've found a barrel that looks like it would work for a mid length but it's hard to confirm without just buying a selection of barrels and seeing what fits. Has anyone used this particular barrel before or have you found another one that definitely has the mid-length gas system? If I can't find on I have a 10.5 with a carbine length gas system that I'll just chop and add the length to. https://gpairsoft-uk.com/eshop/product/gp-11-5-taper-outer-barrel-for-gp-front-set-ras-aeg-black-gp-brl040/

Alright, let's see if this works... I'm guessing it won't embed the videos, but here are two 25 seconds(ish) videos of the issues, with two separate uppers. The problems are twofold: 1. The hammer only half engaging for whatever reason and needing to be manually reset 2. The trigger not working at all (you see it more towards the end, there's an audible click of me pulling the trigger but the hammer doesn't move at all) https://drive.google.com/file/d/1tdP9tSS0cFEZfAkXiTLAg2VqMiA3nhiK/view?usp=sharing https://drive.google.com/file/d/1Xn6JNRZ93pxAzfOMvgNOoNae8QffLKxn/view?usp=sharing
