Which carrier is handling it? Stuff can get caught up if it's marked as airsoft even if there's no complete RIFs inside. I've had this with UPS a couple times.
enzo47 Posted 22 hours ago Posted 22 hours ago recently my steel bolt was hold by custom just cause it was labeled airsoft related. Ups made me fill out a declaration. asked for ukara reason why I was purchasing it and whole other bunch of Questions. is thats just ups ........I never had that before . I had ring them up chase down till finally someone knew why it was on hold.

Royal Mail I emailed E Hobby Asia who I ordered from and asked if they put toy parts or the actual details on the declaration. They did list it as a Co2 mag along with the price etc. But, and I’am not sure if this is a problem, they choose ‘gift’ rather than sale of goods. I would have thought it they choose gift they shouldn’t have put down a value. Edited 22 hours ago by novioman Nick G 1

hitmanNo2 Posted 21 hours ago Posted 21 hours ago UPS can either be an absolute shit show or as smooth as anything. My last RIF with UPS sailed through from HK in a matter of days. I didn't have to fill in any stupid FPS declaration or answer any silly questions. Odd how there's such a variance in experiences with them.

Genuine gifts still have a value When crossing international boundaries there is a different threshold for taxes and duties on gifts The potential problem with the Chinese habit of marking as ‘gift’ is that it is a fraudulent customs declaration, and an obvious fraud However customs are used to it, they will just get to it when they get to it novioman 1

I would have thought it they choose gift they shouldn’t have put down a value. you should probably read the HMRC website. It’s all laid out there. In short, there’s no such customs code as “CO2 magazine” - they might have put the item description as CO2 mag, but that’s largely irrelevant. Just because it’s listed as a gift, doesn’t mean it’s immune from customs charges, since we left the EU, everything is subject to customs charges. Even if it’s listed as a gift between two private individuals. Finally - border force have a massive backlog at the moment of about 2 weeks, so if it’s stopped for inspection or customs charges, it might take as long as two weeks. My last order sat at customs goods in for 2 weeks but was processed within 30 mins of being scanned in at customs.
