Hami
During yesterday’s game as I saw a stream of bbs heading towards and hid behind cover. It got me thinking about how during medium to longer distance engagements you can easily dodge a lot of shots because the bbs are pretty obvious and white. What about colours BBs to hide this? I know players mix tracers and normal but what about a mix of white and black/ brown BBs for usual play to hide some of your shots? I can’t see any good options for coloured BBs atm to test mix
Cannonfodder
I've seen and used black bbs mixed in with white ones but that was over 15 years ago and there have been tan and green heavy rounds for snipers available in the past. I don't remember seeing coloured bbs on sale recently though (not that I've been paying that much attention)

Hatchet
Geoff's from 0.25 upwards. https://www.outdoorandtactical.co.uk/product/geoffs-precision-bbs-0-25g-1000-black-invisible-stealth However... Given how airsofters with white BB's often have trouble telling what they're hitting (or not), the assumption that "stealth" BB's are going to be awesome are often not matched by the reality. Even in well set up sniper rifles, there's sufficient chance of variation due to breeze, foliage etc that all I've ever found with black BB's is going "Well, I have no idea where that went..." Nice will check them out! I’m imagining having a mix of maybe 1:2 white to black so every burts kind of shows where you’re shootingn but hoping the opponent only thinks there’s one coming to them 😂
GiantKiwi
http://greendevilbb.com/ used to use these about a decade ago, and in forest sites they were near on invisible.

Also in my experience 9 times out of 10 you'll see the player before the bbs
Baser
I’ve seen earthy browny coloured BB’s somewhere and did think about getting them but then I played a night CQB game where everyone was shooting bright green/red tracers and I realised seeing what/where you were shooting was more important than stealth so didn’t buy them. Impulse
It's a fantastic idea in concept, but in practice it's an awful idea. Me and my friend have pretty extensively tested with the grey Geoffs .5s in our bolt action rifles and went back to white BBs pretty quickly. The issue is that airsoft guns aren't precision instruments and a whole host of things will affect your shots pretty substantially. A brisk breeze, for example, will knock your BBs off course, but you can adjust for that with white BBs since you can see the general path that your BBs are taking in the wind. With grey, black, brown or any other "stealth" BB, you can't do that as you can't see where your BBs are going, so you might be shooting and internally raging because you're "totally hitting that cheater over there" when in reality your BBs are drifting about 5m to the left of him and you're just missing. I also tried the grey Geoffs .4s in a DMR and the BBs were awful quality. They were shattering in my hop up and I had to replace the hop rubber and clean the barrel and nozzle after trying a few mags of them. I threw them all away. Night games with tracers are so much fun, just streams of them raining down. Really makes me want an M249 for the huge ammo capacity. 😂
