LMKipper
Had a quick search and couldn't see any discussion of this. Wolverine have now announced their new 'Havoc' engine, which is their answer to a HPA shotgun engine. Instead of multiple barrels, it effectively has a whacky hop chamber that holds eight BBs ready to go. When you pull the trigger, it sends all eight down range then reloads another eight. There's a decent video of it here: What are everyone's thoughts? One one hand, I love the idea of a bit of airsoft innovation. On the other, a semi-auto that slings eight 1J BBs could lead to some overkill temper tantrums.

Yes there are shotguns which can fire more per trigger pull but they're pump action. This is just asking for dickheads to finger bang the trigger and piss people off. Also I get the impression the guy being interviewed doesn't really understand the ballistics of shotguns. The average spread of the shot is roughly 1 inch per yard, not the pull the trigger and everything in front of you is gone that this guy seems to be pushing
Galvatron
I just see it getting banned from CQB sites in the UK within a month of landing on our shores because of overkill concerns. I maintain from that thread that a tri-shot setup would have been so much better, and less likely to get hit by the ban hammer. Tackle
MrTea
And there's me thinking that a pump action that could throw 6 BBs was more than enough but these guys thought it was a good idea to make it semi-auto with almost no delay between shots? Yea, na. That's actually insane. The accuracy in that video is strange though because there's some shots I saw with a HUGE spread of BBs even at close range so it's going to be effective in CQB only which is going to suck to get hit by. Chev Chelios
My takeaway from this is that I would have never thought a company as I presume as big as Wolverine would not have a range in the R&D department and instead just go out in the car park to test fire. Especially when you get people who will set it up for heavy BBs. I think a lot of people will be setting it up for .3s or .32s, as most people who are willing to drop Wolverine prices on a gun are probably also people who are willing to use at least medium weight BBs. Speaking from experience on that at least, as I tend to tweak all my 1.1J guns for .32s (outside of a few exceptions like my m249 and my AEPs which are .25s) And then you'll get the really special people who will set it up for .48s. I expect this to happen because I've seen people with AAP wankergun HPA builds at 35rps or more, slinging .48s on full auto, so I fully expect some people to do the same with this. neh0
It’s already been banned by a company running 4 sites in the south of England. Wonder if others will do the same.

Speedy Sloth
I don't like HPA but I think it's a cool innovation, no worse than the spam you get from any other gun in cqb tbh the way some people build rifs. Does seem very pay to win for cqb if allowed though. I wonder if people would be more accepting if it's run at a lower power like 0.6j. Or is it the nature of the spread everyone doesn't like the 8 1j projectiles potentially hitting them? No one seems to complain about gas 6 round shotguns? Personally I've no problem with being hit by 8 bbs from 1 pull of the trigger, the issue with this is that its semi auto with what appears to be a very light trigger. Put it this way, we've all seen the "no full auto in the buildings" video. Now imagine that with 8 bbs every shot. At least the gas 6 shot shotguns have to be pumped, lowering the rof. Speedy Sloth
Could be spammed but than again if someone wants to prove that aren't capable of winning on an even ground they can build most platforms to be stupid rof spam anyway. Send a shame to ban this because of the potential misuse by one or two people. A green cas version would be interesting, lose the umbelical cord and stops spamming as much

Unfortunately it only takes one or two twats to ruin a gameday
