GAV2084 Posted July 8, 2011 Posted July 8, 2011 Just picked up a 9.4v 3300mah for my ICS LA85 A2... was this a bad choice voltage wise?
bigshep Posted July 8, 2011 Posted July 8, 2011 Should be ok, would be more worried about the physical size of the thing tbh.
Supporters Finius Posted July 8, 2011 Supporters Posted July 8, 2011 Most new ICS guns are recommended for at least 9.6v aren't they?
Supporters M_P Posted July 8, 2011 Supporters Posted July 8, 2011 I think it should be ok, but as bigshep said, is be more worried about its size
old and slow Posted July 9, 2011 Posted July 9, 2011 I've got a 9.6 3300mah in mine and it works a treat. Starting the day on a full charge the battery will last all day - no swapping batteries at lunchtime. I fitted mine into the handgrip with velcro to stop it moving about and I charge it in the gun.
GAV2084 Posted July 9, 2011 Author Posted July 9, 2011 Fits perfect actually. Used a bit of high density foam to keep it from moving about, but apart from that is a perfect fit. Got a small 8.6v as a backup, just incase. Can really notice the difference in rate of fire between the two batteries. It came with an 8.4 so thought I had made a mistake by upping the voltage when buying my main battery.
AF-UK Founding Member Deva Posted July 10, 2011 AF-UK Founding Member Posted July 10, 2011 You've said 9.4v and 8.6v. Just wondering where you got these from? Standard sizes are 7.2v, 8.4v, 9.6v, 10.8v and 12v for NiMH. LiPo's are 7.4v, 11.1v.
