leon1104
I have a 13: 1 ufc gearset with a shs ht motor which is weird that the rps has dropped from 34rps to 27rps. I shot about 15,000 bbs with it. The same has happened with a mate of mine. With a setup of stock 18: 1 shs motor dropped from 25rps to 20 rps. It is separate that both set-ups have 5 rps drop. What is the explanation for this? Supporters Adolf Hamster Posted April 25, 2020 Supporters Share Posted April 25, 2020 battery giving less current, magnets degrading, bearing/gear friction increasing. all sorts of stuff can do that. 27rps is still perfectly fine tbh.
Supporters Sitting Duck Posted April 26, 2020 Supporters Share Posted April 26, 2020 Dirty commutator, possible worn brushes - carbon build up etc... clean with fiberglass pen in situ, turning by hand or open it up and clean with a rubber/eraser drop in distilled water perhaps shit on the motor - how often you gotta do that then ??? other crap like loose 2.8mm motor connectors, dry box etc... But most likely crap built up on commutator is my guess as performance depletes once carbon starts to build
Zarrin
The one time i had a similar issue.. (though far more substantial.. felt like a drop from 11.1 to 7.4v) it was a cracked carbon brush. A chunk from one of the brushes had broken off where it contacts the central column. I had to remold the brush with a round file, worked normally afterwards. leon1104
I cleaned the motor. In the beginning it did 29 rps. but soon after that it started going up to 26 rps
