rossleighton98
I've had a Valken Alloy Series MKIII for a while now and I've decided to change the RIS but can't seem to remove the cylinder that connects the RIS to the upper receiver. It seems to be either permanently fixed or just incredibly difficult to unscrew. I don't want to go to extremes and end up breaking it by forcing it so any input would be greatly appreciated! Thanks. Supporters Gepard Posted April 11, 2018 Supporters Share Posted April 11, 2018 I've never owned this gun but typically it should just twist off. You may need something to use as tension like an AR wrench. It's a solid piece of metal so I wouldn't worry about it bending or snapping. There aren't any screws that you can see that could be preventing it from twisting?
Mostly Retired Moderators L3wisD Posted April 11, 2018 Mostly Retired Moderators Share Posted April 11, 2018 Yeah you need an armourers wrench to go across those flats. Doesn't have to be an armourers wrench if you've got a tool that'll do it The threads in the receiver should hold up to a good old tug (oo-er missus) just don't twist it too hard.
