Roundel91
Went to take my CM16 apart today to prep it for painting only to find my inner barrel is stuck and wont release. Last time i stripped it the barrel just slid out. Before i risk damaging anything can anyone suggest a way of removing it without trashing anything first? i cant see whats holding it in as the hopup unit doesnt seem to be fouling on anything? Any help or advice appreciated. Roundel
Supporters Samurai Posted October 21, 2016 Supporters Share Posted October 21, 2016 Can it move forward a little? Pull the charging handle back, maybe the hopup catches on the bolt imitation.

Supporters jcheeseright Posted October 22, 2016 Supporters Share Posted October 22, 2016 For painting just leave it in there and fill the end of the barrel with newspaper. The only guns I strip the internals out of for painting are GBBRs. Make sure you fill the mag well with newspaper too!
Roundel91
Problem solved. Took the RIS mount and front sight off and managed to push it out from the front. Tried sliding it back in again and its definately meeting some resistance within the outer barrel. I also think the grub screws on the front sight post were gripping it aswell. Fires ok so will leave it for now. Just means ill have to strip the front alot more if i need to remove the inner again.
