DIY SAPI Plates for Plate Carriers

This was posted on the Okto Eight site today and thought forum members might be interested.

These sell for around a tenner each as a readymade replica plate, so you can save yourself £30-40 on s set if you wear a plate carrier.

I did exactly the same thing using a few layers of cardboard & gaffer tape

Just draw out a template and cut up an old British issue roll mat that can be picked up for around £8 from a good army surplus. The foam is stiff enough to hold shape easily and light enough that you dont notice it. Worked perfectly in my 6094

And an added advantage, if it gets wet it doesn't go soggy like cardboard :P
