Search Feedback

I don't know how many of you use the search feature etc, but some feedback would be appreciated.

 

Here is the current search (can also be accessed top right etc):

I have made a new search facility, it's google powered:

The standard built in search has it's disadvantages in that it can be hard to find specific things and you can't search anything below 4 characters, so you can't do "jg", "m4" etc. However it does have good options in how it searches.

 

The google one generally picks things up better but doesn't have those few extra options, so I'm undecided. I have tried to blend the look of it in as much as I can so it doesn't stick out

 

If you could let me know which you feel is best then that'd be great.

good update i'm liking the fact its google powered its also a very nice layout aswell, thumbs up from me be nice to hear more peoples opinions though

the google one wasn't working earlier when I first checkd this thread, now that it is, I have to say I prefer it - a few quick searches seems to return what I was looking for, more streamlined than the current one

I've decided to make the Google one as more of the 'default'. When you click search now it is the obvious choice however there is a button which will let you go and use the old search feature.

 

Should all be working OK, but let me know if you have any issues guys.

the google ones better and tbh I don't use the exta stuff that much anyway
